Without people like me all the freeloaders wouldnt be able to play, yet we are punished by silly mechanics like this not to mention why the heck should I need to login at all
Well, I don´t really get it either, we´re already paying them for the membership, right? So why do we have to log every character every day to get the Cert´s? Can´t we at least make it so that loging in once a week is sufficient and gets you the accumulated certs for all of your characters? Sure, it doesn´t take that much time to log in every character every day, but it´s a hassle and I´m not a fan of loading screens.
How hard is it to log in?? A couple of clicks. I have an SSD so it loads in seconds, but even so, surely people aren't this lazy?
They want you to log in and end up playing their game, making you spend some money on SC in the process if they're lucky. Quite usual for MMO games to behave like that (daily quests etc.) Don't really think it suits this game but that is sadly how SOE run their business.
So spending 10 seconds a day to get something for doing nothing is too much for you ? And btw, without the "freeloaders" you would be ghost capping all day a long with other 15 people that have membership.
Only being able to get up to the previous 24 hour's certs when logging in is a calculated move on SOE's end. They want you logging in often to keep the game fresh in your mind. Also they probably don't want people taking 6 month breaks and logging back in to find a pile of thousands of certs and get all the new weapons without pulling out the credit card. It's a smart business move. If you want your certs log in and get them. If you can't be bothered to log in to get your certs, then you don't deserve them Personally I think cert gain is too fast. I've only got 13 days play time and I already don't give a crap about certs because I have to search for something I want to buy with them. They need to make some extremely expensive cert only vanity items. Make 100,000 cert berets so we have some long term goals to work towards.
I don't think anyone minds logging in once to collect certs and check the daily deal out or whatever it is. I can see why they would want us to do this - sales opportunity, stats padding, etc. It feels a bit needless though to have to cycle through each character. Don't know about most other players, but the alts I have are just there for an alternative viewpoint, and I'm not ever going to spend money specifically on them. I log in, collect certs, log out on these characters without any further interaction. It would be less of a chore if logging in on any character collected the certs for all your avatars.
Not having certs accumulate without logging in reason why I cancelled my membership. I work rotations of 28/28days and cant log in from work due to restrictions, so when certs is not accumulating it was a easy choice for me to cancel my membership. If certs had accumulated I would return as a paying member full-time.
Its simple, this is an mmo and the devs view your time in game as money being made. No I do not agree with you getting free certs for every one of your characters, having built up 1000+ certs on all chars takes the fun out of leveling. I'm sure mmo devs have to make tough decisions when dealing with alt-fever players, I haven't seen them catered to in any mmo to date and honestly I dont blame them, its not good for business.
