Why do HA's need SMG access?

    Because why not?

A question that leads to another question.

I get the feeling the guy has a fan club of enemy heavies that hunt him everywhere with SMG's.

    WHY?

So you're asking the community to defend the reason why HA has SMGs? That's a loaded question and you know it. If I was to give you the benefit of the doubt, you're creating an issue out of something that's a non issue at best. The Devs all ready gave HAs the SMGs, you tell us why they shouldn't have it.

Whats wrong with questioning game mechanics, designs & balance? thats the whole purpose of forums.
  6. TheDarSin

Not wrong to question. Its wrong to camouflage a nerf thread into a question and letting others do the leg work for you.

But this wasn't actually a nerf thread.

Also, as much as we can speculate, we have no idea why higby(when he was still around) gave SMG's to the class, when previously he nerfed LMG hipfire so HA's wouldn't be as effective CQC as Medics, or carbine users.

Nerfing LMG hipfire accuracy is not a contradiction to letting heavies use SMGs.
LMGs have huge magazines, SMGs and carbines have small magazines by comparison.

Also, asking for specific classes to lose access to entire weapons categories is a direct nerf-call.

Heavy Assaults with SMGs are not an issue, I can't even remember the last time a HA got me with an SMG.

That is probably the dumbest thing i have heard today.
Doesn't even deserve a real answer.

    Not a nerf thread huh?

You are really over caring about my threads aren't you?

To get a response like this, shows that there is infact a deeply engrained problem with what the topic is about.

Yet people choose to deny it or not talk about it.

Whats interesting about this thread is that its mostly been people attacking me or attacking the topic. Not discussing with eachother.

Also I noticed the very few people who do potentially agree with the thread topic are not speaking up or having talks with people that do not like the topic.

Thread ran its course. Plenty of people disagreed with you and disagreed with the premise of your topic, including myself in one of my posts. A few people agreed but you're making a big deal out of a non issue and are now playing the victim card instead acknowledging anyone that disagreed with you. This is my last reply to this thread since apparently I'm over caring about your posts. I kept it civil and only kept to your posts, threads and topic. I wont play the personal game.

    There was no discussion!

    Also what "non-issue"?

SMG heavies have been a gameplay issue for a long time, and it hasn't just been me saying that.

I've noticed a interesting pattern. The same group of people are saying 0.75 ADS LMG's & SMG's being on HA's are "non issues" yet clearly for years now so many people know they are. And the people that use them will defend them and try to stop any attempt at talking about them and will de-rail threads and focus on attacking the people that bring up these topics.
  17. FateJH

    That's correct.

The problem with the topic is that, contrary to the nature of the topic, there are people who don't think it is a problem at all. The only way to proceed from that point is to construct a "problem" around non-issue and, from there, the topic becomes a self-defeating prophecy. We've made the subject of the topic into a problem because the topic itself has demanded it be made into a problem so that it can be discussed. If we have no issues, we shouldn't have to discuss it; and, you're shooting down our suggested positions for it in, as stated, very curt remarks so the chance for discussion dies fast. (You're honestly lucky we're still willing to talk with you. This kind of attitude wouldn't fly in real life.)

Hence, why TheDarSin felt this is a nerf thread. You have issues with HAs with SMGs. Your other thread already proved that; and, this thread wouldn't exist with you as the OP otherwise. We make no headway if you refuse to lay your thoughts out on the table and we refuse to construct arguments for you to make.

Can you stop being so salty? People are just trying to have a nice chat here. Stats and weapon charts are bogus. The true reason why people use a gun is it feels good and its fun. Sure having insta kill is fun but if it doesn't feel good, then your stats don't matter. Now regarding this issue, smg's should be with the heavy since there is better diversification. A heavy with a smg is also kind of going on a suicide course as well since they aren't really designed for that stealthy role. But this just opens up more playstyles and the last thing we need is more elitism in the form of restricting play styles.
  19. NC supporter

Why can't I play support as a heavy or be an offensive player with an infiltrator. There's no reason why you should control playstyles in such an open ended type of game. This only works in a combat sim like insurgency.

Look at how the classes & game are designed.
