So, there are alot of forumlurkers, who stopped playing sometime ago, but visit the forums, either becoming even more faction biased than before or losing faction loyality for the most part and anything in between. And as i just admitted to myself that i'll probably not go back to playing Planetside anymore, i wanted to know, why did you stop playing? for me it was a combination of 2 things and it already happened last year: university started, which cut back on my free time and as it is a special case of studying where i have a semester and then spend a few weeks in a company, which also pays my bills etc over the whole 3 years, i'm pretty low on available time. However, i still have some time to play, so why do i play other games, arma 3 for the most part, instead of planetside? There once was this little anniversary bundle for 40€, which i wanted for a singular item: Hardlight Armor The spaarkliest thing ever, the completion to my Tech wearing Fairy soldier. so on a day, 1 week before it would get removed i bought SC unfortunatly for SoE they also screwed up SC buys trough steam wallets on that day, so i paid my 45€ to get 5000sc... and waited... and waited... and wrote a ticket... and waited... and tweeted at the customer support...got an answer that i should try again...replied i already lost my money so i want my SC not to pay even more... and waited... and send another tweet... and got a reply that i should send the transaction data, which i did... and waited... by now the anniversary bundle was removed from the shop... obviously... tweeted at them again... and waited... and finally, 1 week to late i got my sc...so i asked how to get the anni bundle now... and waited and waited and waited and send a tweet and waited and got a reply: "You don't" ... ... k thx bye
Ive quit because of unplayable lag some time ago, but actually Im starting to come back every once in a while. Miller at least was fixed for me.
I've quit for now because since a week microstuttering has rendered my game unplayable. I am reading about others on here and in the support section having the same issue too. No response from devs, no update whatsoever... shame...
i stopped playing for almost a year and recently came back reason? i simply overplayed PS2 i was playing ps2 with all my free time, weekends i would be playing for 12+ hour stretches and weekdays up to 8 hours a day depending on if i had enough time - i flat out got burned out on the game i really appreciate PS2 a lot more now after the break, now i limit my playing time to 2 hours max each day and its actually MORE fun when you play less which is weird
Redeployside has pretty much rendered all logistic / strategic gameplay.. Useless. Some awesome outfits still do the occasional gal drops, but not out necessity as much as because they like the cool factor and are deep down inside still hoping that gal drops will be a thing again one day.
It's called: "i want 8ct per 5€ refunded to spend on other games" considering that i should probably start playing CS:GO again and get some additional money that way. considering that i'm even on my Counter strike purchases, 2€ payed in a sale, got a brand new chest in my first game and sold for 2€, it would be quite a thing
i quit over a year ago, the reason wasn't actually gameplay related, but more some thievery going on in the shop it was the 1st anniversary bundle, which offered a heroic booster for each character. (just like the release bundle did and just like the 2nd anniversary bundle did) but afew days after it went on sale SoE seriously reduced it by making it only 1 booster, no warning, no message, its a con move called Bait and Switch, where you advertise something but then switch it for something with low value, customer service was entirely unhelpful, so i decided enough was enough, i wasn't going to support a company that cons its customers! i came back afew months ago as a free player, i wasn't going to give SoE money, but i could still freeload off them! but now with SoE gone i can once again support a new company, which will hopefully have more respect for the people paying their bills edit: lol i just read your post OP, anniversary bundle too!
Have quit a few times already though the current ongoing pause is longer though. For a few reasons but most of it can be attributed to the resource changes, the resource change made it irrellevant to play the objective, now the game is just a series of farms for farmings sake. With the change to the resource system much of my outfits leadership moved on to other games which meant we only had a organized platoon/squad a few times a week instead of every evening. I lone wolfed the first 60 BRs, since then I have found it frustratingly boring to lonewolf. And lastly, I am not particularly fond of the change in Cobalts server culture since the merge with Ceres.
I've got plenty of free time and nor is cost a barrier. I just found it boring and repetitive. Too much concentration on kills not enough on tactics and strategy and base design encourages all of this not to mention camping. I did play a lot, about a year from launch then a bread and then for another 3 months or so once Amerish came out. I've played for a few hours on Hossin but blurgg, it's not good. I'd play the game more if there was a reason.
After two years of sitting for hours looking for farming options I now only log in to play semi serious platoon troll play with JEST. Most of whom have sadly left.... -Recent influx of assist users -Assist users who survived to br100 being lorded as MLG pro -Lags -Hit detection -Performance -Tanking being so very meh -General smell of a stale game being milked -The offensively poor new player experience
Same here but I still play every now and then. But I totally stopped throwing money in the shop. While the game itself is still very enjoyable it totally lacks any strategy or depth. And the fault belongs to the bad resources system (nanites mean zero) and redeploy that basically sucked strategy and logistics out of the game. There is no planning just zerg farm and vehicle spam.
After Christmas the game was in its worst state, poor performance and lag on EU servers made it unplayable, I returned like 1 week ago and the lag was apparently fixed, even if with all the quitters the servers are not that populated and overloaded anymore so who knows.
The lag after christmase made the game unplayable on the EU server, I heard the lag is gone but I'm now playing other games.
Bugs that impact gameplay in mild to serious ways but are never fixed for months. They are still there, less of them but tolerable.
A.K.A Valve ... I quit because of the community and their constant nerf threads. Then I came back and wondered why I had left. Then I remembered, but still kept playing.
I recently decided to quit playing because I'm tired of Emerald NC's incompetence. They can't hold a sundy or cap point even with 60-75% pop. It's infuriating. In other news, Monster Hunter 4U came out, so I'd rather have that game consume my soul instead.
Burnout mainly. I also had tons of schoolwork courtesy of AP Calc, FRC build season was in full swing (we do our last competition this week, assuming we don't make it to world finals), and of course I had burnout.
