Why are there so many NC UP threads?

It's funny you should mention this, because the NC's bursters are actually the weakest bursters by far despite being common pool. The lack of an offensive MAX ability means we can't mitigate the big nerf they got awhile back. Also, bursters are our best AA outside of the Titan AP.

I dunno, maybe the idea is to lure ESFs into a cliff or something, with the big blue shield.
  3. Aktarus

yeah and you need to reflect the sunlight in the pilot face so he insta burn :)
  4. Aktarus

i'll explain you why then , because since the 90's and the quick raise of the online gaming absolutely all the gaming l33Tz0rz wannabe's clan/guild/outfit i've seen always choose the OP side of the force because they just want to put all the chances on their side to get the best score possible.

Wich simply confirm what anybody with a little bit of common sense already know about NC.
  5. Goretzu

It'd be nerfed for steping on the VS's toes.

Actually come to think of it I've no idea why having the Aegis Shield up doesn't have an AOE damage reduction....... not only does this help for AA and AV, but it helps AI and it's main weaknesses as well.

Old post old post, but i think it's because new people think it's 'Murica!!!1 So dey gotta be goodz!!!

Which is no more cogent than people thinking it is space USSR they must be good, or it's aliens it must be good, nor does it explain PS1, at all.

It also doesn't explain NS weapon performance.

Nor does it explain that this exact same "L2P Defence" appears in every MMO where there is a game imbalance (including for VS and TR in PS2 already) yet never has any evidence to back it up...... and amazingly once balance is addressed it goes away. :D

    And what would that be?

(For the record, NC are again the most popular empire worldwide).

In my experience, the NC faction has the higher skill requirement for full effective use of tactics. In the "hard Numbers" game they are balanced or in some areas excel (The Aegis Shield for example) but the Aegis Shield, to be truly effective, requires infantry supporting and following infantry. In a fast-paced game where thinking happens only one time every 10 minutes sometimes, the "Zergiest' abilities have a tendency to work the best for the average player because it doesn't lack effectiveness by itself.

Phoenix Rocket swarms for example that can take out as much armor as you can throw... But it requires more than one Phoenix to be effective because it needs higher Alpha Strike.

A Vanguard saving another Vehicle by running in front of it and popping a shield.

An Aegis Shield MAX leading a charge of infantry that follow it, potentially cycling 2 MAXes with shields.

All 3 of those tactics require a dedicated team (or dedicated teamwork). ZOE can be done by simply popping it and running around killing and then going to find an Engineer. the Prowler Lockdown can be done from Standoff distance (Though it benefits from having more than one).

Ease of Use tactically is very important. Because when you die as a ZOE it is your fault, when you die as an Aegis MAX it is often due entirely to a lack of support. And only so many players can afford to yell into the Mic as much as is required.

So in the end, it seems the lack of zerginess creates a lack of fun for Faction Specific NC things, and a lack of fun drives players away from the faction. on Mattherson I notice the server tends to be NC until an Alert pops at which time Vanu or TR shoot up in population.

In addition to my Previous statement: dieing to a lack of support (Aegis Shield) also helps to create player animosity, or faction animosity "Those stupid ****s didn't support me!" and you have that boulder rolling down hill early enough and potentially good players roll to another faction, making it harder to herd the cats into a squad.

You breed a type of player who simply no longer cares, and that is what I see in the NC on Mattherson. Players simply stop caring during alerts, they do what they have done and search for fights, don't care about terrain, Only a few outfits try to seemingly do anything anymore but it is under the vast immobile pressure of an NC zerg that simply doesn't care anymore.

Looking at my stats I have killed more NC and died more to TR.
That said I used to play most when Lithcorp was still a thing and they had that one outfit consisting of kids that made up about 50% of NC population and was incredibly rubbish.
