Who else plays the faction for the story?

At first I played NC, then I realized that the NC dont give a rats *** about freedom, just their money. then I liked the way VS's story went so I went with them.I tried TR but really wasn't digging their story line. I would hate to have a corrupt government now so why would I fight for them. I honestly don't care for weapons or armor, what about you guys?

Me! I chose TR because of the lore, TR are not a corrupt government and wasn't we who started the war btw, was the NC uncivilized crazy rebels who attacked us in the bridge lol.
As a MMORPG player of course I would be playing because of the lore.

And a really complex one.

no... what it has is some background lore...the game itself has no story beyond "shoot the other factions and take their bases cause we say so"

But for the story? in a way. I play NC mostly cuz i like the equipment.

I initially played TR b/c I generally like to fight for the lawful side, the government. DOnt generally play as the rebel faction. Just turns out the bad guys usually have all the cool toys.

Thats the thing, started as a good one, now corrupted from power. I like the VS, Enlightenment, not even as from a game stance, but in real life. I like both NC and VS. NC because at first it was a greedy corps group, but now it goes against the tyranny.

Yes, Lore is a huge part of the enjoyment of my faction for me.

That and I like Ballistics weapons like those the TR use.

Tried tested and true, my guns will murder you.

NC are money hungry
TR are totalitarian
VS worship aliens and are barely human anymore

About NC and VS. TR is kind of correct but NC is really money hungry. They started off as hungry corps but now they're all for a change of government. VS don't worship aliens, they worship technology, they're trying to use it for the greater good.

That's just what they want you to think...

Seriously though, I'd like to see some lore that delves into different viewpoints on the various factions and actions taken by the different sides in this conflict. After so many years of war, there can't be only three viewpoints in all of this. There's got to be a growing number of people that are getting fed up with the three factions always fighting it out as well.

Thats actually a good idea. You think they would get very creative with the story, after all, whats the point in fighting for a group when the story isnt really good. Each side should have their perspective on others and the faction should have perspective on its own.

I'm a bit concerned with the way that the lore hasn't been expanded at all since it was first written. They could have been adding a whole lot more since launch, just to keep players interested, but nothing has happened. Even just taking the made up war stories of players and posting them would be something.

So I guess the Desert of Indar is the Koarr desert? Or atleast thats what I get, seeing as its the only desert I know of in game haha.

One other question, I now know where we get Briggs, Watterson and Connery, but where do we get the other server names? Mattherson, Ceres, Jaegar...what other ones? lol.

For me, ideology determines one's allegiance. I do not care as much about the performance of weapons.
