Any tips on where to spend my certs? So far I have upgraded 100cert sniper+7x scope nanoweave +10% all classes squad leader spawnbeacon Playstyle: Vehicles: -I often play with the Prowler (so far only increased ammo a bit and 1.25x zoom) -I really need a better gunner weapon on the prowler Infantry: -Often infiltrator sniping -Close quarters light assault. This is primarily because I like the weapon. For example I really dislike the recoil on the heavy class. -Engineer to repair my vehicle (seldom for infantry combat) Maybe someone can recommend a nice gun to make the heavy or combat medic class more suitable?
I would upgrade your prowler. I play infiltrator a ton (over a thousand sniper kills) and you don't really need to invest a lot of certs into it. Most of the infiltrator certs are irrelevant to a sniper. Tanks, on the other hand, have a lot of really great certs. Ammo capacity helps a lot, getting an anti tank secondary turret helps, etc. You don't really need to upgrade engi if you just use it for repairs. I would get restoration kit (works for all classes) you dont really need to invest a ton into it, just get 1 or 2 levels.
You get double bang for your cert buck spent on the carbines, since you play LA and Engineer a lot. The repair gun certs are always a good investment. If you want to branch into medic, the medic tool certs are a must-buy (their default weapon is pretty good out of the box). I'd say the first must-get for HA is one of the lock-on launchers (with a personal preference for the G2A variant). I used station cash for those, though, so my first certs went into reflex sights for the rifles.
Thanks @ bot. So I upgraded the repair gun and got a restoration kit. Saved some points for the prowler (best gun to be determined later) Question though: -All carabines seem to have similar stats. Is one of the guns worth the certs??? -Which heavy gun has better accuracy (default gun is supposed to be accurate according to the ingame stats but it is a spray machine...)
TR carbines are fantastic. Use the trial function to try them out and just pick the one you like. The difference in TTK between the best in the game and the worst in the game firing at eachother simultaneously is something like 400ms, and that's assuming you use the worst one badly (an NC one fired full auto). Human reaction time is only 200-250ms at best. I happen to use both of those, and can't really tell the difference most of the time. Carbine choice is really just ergonomics and aesthetics, though many forumites will swear up and down that one is 'better' than the others. They just don't realize they still have the CoFire system in effect while using the sights. They think if they control the recoil every shot will hit the mark dumping half or an entire clip on full auto, so they never learn to shoot their weapons and just think the RoF+Accuracy ones are the best because they get the most 'hit' marks when used that way. Been dealing with it since beta. The #1 thing to look at is the attachments. Not all of them can have all attachments. Make sure the one you pick to spend certs on can have the attachments you like. Especially something like softpoint/high velocity ammo, or the underbarrel weapons. SoE is picky about which guns those are available to.
One other thing to recommend is getting the cheap 1 cert items for most everything. The initial training tends to provide the greatest bang for the buck, so getting those out of the way helps. Also, one key thing to remember, almost everything needs to be specifically attached, and often times different certs take the same slot, so branching out is kind of a waste unless you intend to switch things out (this is especially the case with the armor mods. You can only equip one of them, so don't train up all of them foolishly). So rule #1 (or at least 2), don't forget to add the thing you just certed for to your loadout.
If carabines are only cosmetic then for now I will not spend my certs there. Are there any weapons that do make a big difference in infatry combat (apart fromt he sniper rifle I already unlocked)? ps What is this Co-Fire system?
