When will Mossy and Reaver get adjusted to get on the same level as Scythe?

We agree that the ESF differences makes them unequal in terms of usability, but we have different preferences and different opinions on which ESFs are most usable.

Scythe isn't currently unusable for me. So I don't use it. It does not have enough regular/burst speed for me even with the fastest model, so I can't rely on it to exit situations that are too dangerous. (especially vs. other ESFs)

Mosquito has great regular speed and good burst speed, and a great Nosegun in the Needler. The Needler has weaker quick dps but great Magazine, great Ammo Supply, and allows for slow but sustained and accurate damage on targets at very long range which is great vs. vehicles (especially dangerous ones like Libs or Vanguards or Skyguards) or engaging targets in zergs at safe distances. I have a very hard time with Infantry targets with the Needler, so I tend not to bother with them except for easy matchups like a lone non-HA or an ESF swarm on a spawn camp.

Reaver has great burst speed and a situationally great Nosegun in the Vortek. The Vortek has great quick dps, terrible Ammo Supply, and suffers at longer range (both due to weak sustained and accurate damage, and due to terrible Ammo Supply). Vortek excels at close range vs. ESFs and is much better at handling Infantry for me than the Needler. Vortek is harder to aim for me and quicker Magazine also makes this more of a factor.

Right now my preference is for the Mosquito over the Reaver because of the Needler. I don't care about the sizes of the ESFs so much (annoying, but not a deal breaker), and the Reaver speed is definitely good enough for me. But the Needler lets me handle more types of situations that fit my playstyle, and it also doesn't have the annoyingly small Ammo Supply of the Reaver. If I could use a Needler on my Reaver, I would like it about equal to the Mosquito.

I know these are just my personal preferences and playstyle, and I in no way think my playstyle is more importance than anyone elses. If I were designing it, I would identify the different ESF playstyles and then make each Faction able to be used for that style on a basic level, with faction differences giving edges and feel differences to each.

Also, the cost of Certing out Noseguns on ESFs (especially guns like the Vortek that really need to me fully Certed on everything) are so expensive that I haven't tried all the different guns. So if there are other options for NC that are similar to the Needler, let me know.

It's weird how the NC Gauss Saw is a slow fire, effective at range weapon, while it's the TR Needler that is the slow fire, effective at range weapon.

    And your point being?

Mine was that the size of the reaver doesn't always matter, especially when the 2 main evils as far as ESFs are concerned are the topic.

Beyond that, I'm not an ESF pilot. But you people enjoy debating the finer details.

Well, yeah, i mention european players because i play on european servers (Ceres, Cobalt, Miller). It's the guys i know and as the vehicles are the same on US servers i don't know if that really matters...

About the blance decisions: I know balancing is hard when it is about getting new players AND satisfying experienced players. But still SOEs balance decisions are a mystery to me. On the one side you have these ridiculously overpowered lock-ons, Coyotes and stuff, they buffed the already very strong Lib, they buffed the AP cannons - but the Harasser was nerfed to death and is even harder to handle now than an ESF with scrubyotes or tomcats. if i would just see a pattern here, i don't.

But as i said before: I did not say anything about me complaining. I said the Scythe is superior in dogfights and what opinion we have about mass air combats or everyday's live server play is in another ballpark. It is pretty obvious that SOE doesn't give a crap about experienced player's opinion as long as they have to watch out where the money is coming from. Unfortunately it comes from players like me and i get more and more bored and annoyed, but whatever. This is a different topic.

    Very good post.

If that's the case there is no reason the Scythe shouldn't have a larger or smaller hitbox then? Or the Mosquito having a larger or smaller hitbox? Or the Reaver having a larger or smaller hitbox?

Therefore, why cant we have them scaled near equal, as apparently being unequal doesn't seem to matter that much in the actual state of the game. Or should we expand the Reaver and make the Scythe reduced in size? Or swap the sizes and make Reavers the smallest and Scythes the largest? Or make the Mosquito smaller or larger and keep the others the same?

To me, these seem to be valid points that should be addressed logically and objectively without bias.

Consider my post a jab at the complaints some people have about the Reaver being bigger than the other two.
    That was all.

We all have our opinions, and none of them are wrong, because they are just that, opinions! ;) I'm (and wishful thinking, *We're*) not the one to judge that.

All I know is on Connery.

Yes the Sythe is the best dueler. It's ludicrous people are debating it.

But there is more then just dueling. Plus I like being able to grab a sythe and being better in duels, but that's not all I want to do. On Connery TR has had such an advantage in the air for so long that the air game is so TR lopsided it works out fine anyway; feels like there are 3x the competent ESF pilots on RT anyway.

I know for a fact though I can beat people in duels in my sythe that beat me in my mossy and reaver, so to me it's pretty clear cut. But it's not a bad thing because dueling isn't what it's all about. Especially when comparing the sythe to a mossy, because the mossy is so much more survivable and so much easier to farm peasants with using the rotary than a sythe with the lPPA.

Well, you ran into mine a couple times...

Never, ESF vs ESF is at a pretty good state and it's fun. But to say hitbox size doesn't matter would be a complete lie. If you play a Reaver your only option is to play in the other opponents face with Vortek Or AH. If you are trying to hover duel at range with Mustang 20 you are going to lose vs anyone of equal skill. Accept the game and adapt

...give the reaver some front armor...

    RAMMING SPEED!

That's what I think whenever I see a Reaver, cos I know if I play my cards right I'll live and they'll die.

It's fun, the rage you get from that.
