When did the Combat Medic become an issue?

Not sure if you have a difficult time reading or just failed to comprehend what I wrote.

Waterson, outnumbered 2-3 times by TR at all times except primetime. I'm lucky to have 1 friendly helping me defend objectives. Meanwhile I have a entire squads to deal with. This concept of "team" your suggesting doesn't exist outside of the warpgate or the 2-3 territories connected to it.

Teamwork - When you just happen to have unlimited Jesus right behind the corner.

What you and all of the other people who refuse to see the problem with medics believe is that bad players should be rewarded for throwing themselves in front of bullets over and over again.

    So much irony.

Let us all talk about how DA is abusing the HA class in a thread that's about the combat medic and the matters concerning it.

According to Stew, anyone who plays combat medic is trying to be like Stew. I'm going to write a letter to the devs demanding we rename "Combat Medic" to "Stew360 wannabes"

if you can kill 7 people with a nade, then why shouldnt you be able to revive 7 people with a res nade, seems balanced to me.

If you think emulating your favorite youtube or twitch caster by going on a scummy killstreak using infil smg's and LA c4 shotguns behind front lines is actually helping your team win then your playing this game wrong, teamwork and sticking with your squad to complete objectives is how SOE intended us to play this game and medic is a vital support class that enforces this teamplay aspect, but apparently it seems some rambos just cant deal or come to grips with that.
  5. Tristan

I guess it's a good thing it's the med tool that's broken and not revive nades, right?
  6. Navus

numbers trump skill? is PS2 a revolutionary war remake?
  7. Being@RT

I mean to say that skill gives an advantage, but not an infinite strength one.

One has to also keep in mind that when your skillful play fails to achieve an objective it's not always solely because of an enemy class or numbers: The opponents also have access to skillful play.
  8. ColdCheezePizza

how can res gun be broken if your ok with res nades? grenade bandolier (3x res nades) couldnt count how many times my medic squad have turned lopsided odds into wins because of that where using only the medic gun would have just gotten us wiped.

Good medics are one of the few things that counter the numbers always win in this game, its what allows a smaller squad to survive long enough to gain an advantageous position and hold it long enough to turn a base. If the defenders can spawn infintely and continue pushing a taken point, then the counter is medics need to be able to revive infinitely as well

It's pretty easy to tell the difference between crappy mechanics and being outplayed. When I killed a group of 2-3 enemies for the fourth time in 60 seconds, it's crappy mechanics.
  10. ColdCheezePizza

So the ability to turn yourself invisible and sneak up behind someone is not crappy mechanics?

theres alot of cheap ways to kill someone in this game, if medics couldnt revive you like they can now, I couldnt imagine how many more players would rage quit this game forever over the amount that already has so far.
  11. Tristan

Which class is it that turns itself invisible? Because cloakers are pretty damn easy to see.

Also, the situation I'm getting at happens way more often when I'm playing HA or Engineer. I don't tend to just defend one point as an infil.
  13. Posse

    Not sure if troll...

The revive grenades are the most broken thing of the medic imo, I'd have them dissappear completely
  14. ColdCheezePizza

Not during a chaotic battle when tank and dalton shells are going off everywhich way, even then an experienced infil is pretty hard to spot and even more now that SOE has fixed the low setting cloak and night vision scopes. The only reason cloakers are in the game is because of medics, I know i would have quit a long time ago if had to respawn a mile away everytime I died because i missed what you call easy to see while I was focused on killing the enemies I can actually see pretty damn easy on my monitor without creating a cataract from straining my eyes so hard trying to spot a running transparent vapor cloud.
  15. Visk

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

That's the thing though. When you have a handful of medics, the squad basically can't die. You can all wipe, but if one medic manages to throw a teamwork grenade in the same room just before he dies, suddenly, the entire squad is back in action...then they wipe again...another revive grenade explodes and the process repeats itself.

If your whole squad wipes multiple times within the same 60 seconds and the only thing that's keeping your squad on the point is just one of you throwing a res grenade before everyone dies, you can't honestly say your teamwork, player skill, or superior tactics is what won you the fight.
  16. ColdCheezePizza

The thing is the players arguing against the current medic function wants to keep everything else the same without adjusting the other parameters that make the game balanced. The devs cant make a cooldown on a medic gun without also putting a longer cooldwon on the respawn timers, it would just make defending bases way to easy when defenders can respawn at a much faster rate then attackers. Park sundy too close gets c4'd, park it too far away and the point becomes near impossible to hold, medics were designed this way for a reason in this game. I dont know about you but I dont want to wait 60+ seconds to get back in the action everytime I die.
  17. phreec

As someone who primarily plays CM, the only thing OP about us and our revive mechanic is that we can revive MAX's so easily. Especially with Revive Grenades.
  18. MrK

"I killed these 8 guys leaving out their medic, they should remain dead" .....

Small squad play RELIES on fast revive mecanics. Remove it (since it's the basic reaction from forumside seeking for something to nerf), and see numbers win even more easily.
  19. Pirbi

Never had a problem with them. Of all the 'cheese' in the game, they don't even rank. It's the class that helps the enemy give me more kills.
  20. Kacho Seiyo Arino

Of course the combat medic is the embodiment of team play.

He doesn't have much in the way of offense cept his gun where others have turrets, rocket launchers, airborne C4, and mech suits.

Where CM shines is healing the team and making sure they stay in the battle. That's why people hate it, it makes Planetside 2 what it is, and not just "Modern Warfare 4: Mmm, look at my huge K/D brb 5 minutes".

Nerf my Rez in any way and I demand that I can make a Heavy Assault into a heal tank like TF2, since that's what the complainers want this game to become.
