Being disadvantaged at a thing doesn't mean you're completely incapable of it. You'd still be better off at longer ranges using an assault rifle or similar. If you weren't, HA would be blatantly overpowered. Nanoweave and Resist being overpowered was a bad thing. The class doesn't need any buffs, it's already the most played one. If anything it's still marginally too versatile. If you're losing to rapid fire carbines regularly you should switch to a rapid fire LMG or an SMG. Since it takes longer for a GD-7F/Serpent to kill an HA than it takes the CARV/EM6/Orion to kill an LA, losing that sort of matchup is entirely due to user error.
Not quite. The thing with those RPM >800 weapons is that if you're using a slower firing weapon like the sva, you will get killed by bodyshots before you land the three headshots you need to take down the other player. Using the shield solves this problem, but sometimes you get into those fights with no shields available.
i don't know what SOE did but it seems the infiltrator class can take more damage then HA class how many times I get kilt in close combat when he only use his pistol i have the jackhammer most class 3 burst and there death np i hit the infiltrator full in the chest only his schield was gone wtf and he hit me with his pistol and i was death even my schield was up it was many times that i get killt that way i no they have a cloak skill that give you 25 % less damage but it seems pll already figure out a hack ore bug to abuse that skill and use it even there not in cloak and stil have the 25 % less damage and with a full nano weaver there very hard to kill then
Gonna have to disagree on that. I don't feel very disadvantaged with my extra health and awesome LMG.
Seems to me everyone complaining about this class cant use the spell check or use grammar correctly. No offensive to those people but how can you expect them to be reliable standing next to you? The class is fine. I play more HA then anything else. When it comes to a push its either HA or Infl and most the time HA would serve the purpose better than other classes. I feel you OP, its the nature of this game. Play smart or die quickly... and in this game dying is very easy.
I play HA and MAX almost exclusively, with a little LA and Infiltrator mixed in. I do not find HA to be underpowered at all. They do not have the utilities that other infantry classes have, but they can absorb the most damage, and have the broadest arsenal of weapons. I feel almost immune to infiltrators as heavy assault. I do occasionally get sniped, but it's rare (less than 1 in 15 of my deaths is to a sniper). SMG/pistol infiltrators lose to me 9 out of 10 times. If you cannot see a cloaked infiltrator, you are using the wrong display settings. If you cannot hear an infiltrator cloak/decloak and get a rough idea of distance and direction, you need to adjust your sound. If you can't keep track of your minimap while playing, you need to work on that. A properly chosen and configured assault rifle or carbines is generally superior to LMGs and SMGs at close to medium range. However their advantages are not large enough to overcome the HA shield, all other things being equal. They also lack the sustained fire capability of the LMGs, and only a handful of them can come close to match the best long range LMGs. I typically swap between my favorite long range LMG (Ursa as VS) and an SMG setup as likely engagement ranges dictate. Rocket launchers are bad? Relative to what? No other class has an equivalent weapon. A MANA AV turret is stationary. C4 has no range. Rockets are an extreme thread to infantry and MAXes, a credible thread to ground vehicles, and a significant deterrent to aircraft.
^ exactly. But its spelt threat. I have 5 different loadouts for different situations. Being a HA, its not like you would charge a base with a pistol. I mean you could, but how effective are you?
Threat is indeed the word I thought I was using. I think Waterfox has broken dictionaries *turns off autocorrect*. Or maybe it's just the migraine.
With resist shield I can see that being an issue. Run into the area with it activated (you're glowing now...) and then moving slowly to boot. Its all situational of course. When I use the other shield(name escapes me atm) I use it as an "oh crap, you snuck up on me... I might make this out alive!" button. My personal advice to the OP play the classes that are killing you the most. Learn the tactics they use to kill HA's. Go support if you need to, see what other HA's do. Then equip a flashlight to ur handgun and go back to HA and know where the infiltrators are hiding, where LA's will find a good vantage point, etc. Then haul *** to the nearest cover and blast them a new hole(x2). Know thy enemy.
Shield is useless against SMG infiltrator shooting you in the back. The amount of invisible ninjas running around is really tiresome now.
Quick question: When was the last time you were playing with your Outfit and the Outfit Leader asked for Heavies?
Only when you need Lock on Launchers. Except that, HAs are useless. They have no real advantage against other classes anymore. Their weapons are worse than other classes weapons.
If that's the case, I would actualyl have the HA a Conan like impact on the battle. At the moment HAs are pretty much a joke. People whined too much and they got nerfed pretty bad (Nanoweave change etc) and support and Infiltration classes were given weapons much more powerful than the HA's.
Hmnnnn... HA gets work done. If I had to complain... I'd say the deci needs a bit more damage against armor. that's about all I'd muster up thou... and even then... I wouldn't be super passionate about it. OSHK snipers... nanoresist nerf... liberators... I guess I could get angry that stuff... but I fly so I know of even worse hells, and yes flying esf is MUCH worse, MORE random, and MORE full of death... the frag grenade is kind of neutered... given the rest of the chaos... but still... it's fun... seems to work well... god knows I got a selection of rockets, you got a problem, I got a rocket for it... and I can holdz a point (mainthing) I makes disco music... which I can then dance to... meh HA is ok. At the end of the day... HA, cause a grunt can take it.
Never thought I would see a thread about Heavy assault being underpowered? Infiltrator beating HAs? is this a joke? is there a post BR 15 here? You have access to the same close range weapons and access to weapons that are not gimped past 25 meters and a I win button, And a one hit KO Noob tube that require 20 minutes of practice to get good at close range work with. And did someone say worse weapons then other classes? I suppose not everyone plays NC... Top thread NA,
