What the heck, Briggs?

Logged on to 42% TR pop last night. Logged on tonight, 42% TR pop. Can't be north warpgate, last time we had it we barely saw over 30%. Anybody care to explain? Methinks 4th Faction has discovered the Striker.

Post script: Midweek queues for Indar...I haven't seen a queue since Christmas.

Its certainly a significantly different picture to that of early 2013 that's for sure.
Hopefully TR doesn't grow complacent with the extra pop.

Oh, we will...overpop factions always do. It's just a matter of maintaining standards for as long as possible, and hoping most of the new blood winds up with 7OXS or SOCA. Let them zergherd (which they do really well, before I get flamed) while the smaller outfits can get some fresh blood.

EDIT Looking at the pop statistics, it looks like Briggs is bleeding players. NC and VS have been hit the hardest, while TR is staying pretty steady. Not a good sign....we're dropping below 1000 players off peak more regularly than we were a month ago.

when vs had the top warpgate, their pop was also 40%.
when nc had the top warpgate, their pop was also 40%.
    top warpgate wins.

Yeah, but you didn't read. The last 2 times TR have had it, this hasn't been the case. If it wasn't an abberation, I wouldn't have posted. TR being 40% on Briggs is pretty remarkable, and I want to know what memo I missed.
  6. Yasa

im pretty sure the tr did. you missed the memo.

No we didn't. We did get a bit of a boost, but even then I don't think we actually became the most pop. This is the first time in Brigg's history that TR have had a significant population advantage over anyone else. We had a slight advantage for the first two months of release, but nothing significant.

This time it's a combination of a number of factors:

TR has far more outfit co-operation than the other two factions. We had to develop that after being under-popped for most of the last 6 months. This means that as our population slowly but surely caught up to the others, we started winning more than our fair share of alerts. Indeed, for the last month or so while our pop was about the same as VS we've won the vast majority. It got to the stage VS and NC almost never even bothered turning up to Amerish and Esamir alerts, even while VS was getting equal world population. It's like TROL decided "we're not winning anymore, let's not even bother turning up". And that has absolutely come back to bite them on the *** big time, as the fourth factioners slowly started joining TR for the easy certs.

TR now is the most powerful and organised faction on the server with equal numbers, while having the northern warpgate, and regularly being the only ones competing in Esamir and Amerish alerts properly. It was a recipe for disaster, and that's exactly what has happened. Pretty much every 4th factioner joins us, while I know a number of high level NC players have simply stopped playing because of the lack of organisation in their outfits and random pubbies. Others have joined VS or TR, as they still want to play the game but are so angry and annoyed at the NC that they couldn't continue on that faction. I don't know what has happened to VS over the last week, but maybe they had more 4th factioners that we all realised.

Thanks for the info...I've been away for a bit (damn you EUIV) and was seriously confused as to what was happening.
  9. AMARDA

yeah, it got to the point where TR are so used to being outnumbered we just don't really care anymore.

We (Briggs TR) have stuck to our guns, stood fast and maintained discipline and organisation within our core players. Our forces are loyal and don't bounce between factions from patch to patch. We started large early release, then our numbers dwindled after all the early freeloaders bailed and we spent a long time as the smallest faction. Our response was to get organised and learn to punch above our weight when we were getting stomped 4:1 on a good day.

Now we're reaping the rewards because now that the numbers are even and/or swinging in our favour (temporary north gate 4th faction bonus) we have a much easier fight on our hands.

Desperation, complacency and crying about the problem rather than hardening up and fixing it aren't doing the NC any favours either. They were complaining about "being out numbered" when the TR population finally made it to an average 30% om Briggs.

To be fair, the NC problem is more a case of them not having dealt with the pressures that formed the current TR and the fact that they seem to have had a real implosion of leadership. This may be a good thing for the NC as they may just get their act together.
  12. Dingus148

They have leaders, but TROL have pretty much turned every serious outfit off zergherding. It seems like some of the lesser outfits have tried, but the Zerg knows no master but certs. Not saying one of the serious outfits needs to stoop to herding dem cats, but I don't know how else you're going to see improvements without an established name to hoover up the loose elements
