What people don't seem to understand about ZOE...

    Yeah, talking about current Strikers, people still seem to think they are 5 lock on nukes. The negatives for being able to lock on ground and air are extensive, but most gloss over them.

    Yes Vulcan on Prowlers are fine (well imho they are complete cr4p and dont gel with our special, lockdown, but thats another thread).

    Vulcans are great on Harassers because the Harasser can get in close quick and get out just as fast, great for hit and run tactics. The Vulcan excells in killing damaged and fleeing tanks, lightnings at close range and infantry within spitting distance. Again same with Marauder, the platform its on gels extremely well with the weapon, hit and run.

    They gave TR an SMG on the fastest ground unit, VS semi-auto rifle with mag dump and NC a modern M1 garrand (not a gun nut, but you get the point). But what can you do to the Vulcan to bring in line without totally changing it (yes please) or making it one of the most useless weapons with poor cqc and even worse range. Vulcans give up range combat for cqc combat, but on the fastest ground vehicle it doesnt matter, on a tank, yes.

    I would like the Vulcan changed to a midrange weapon that can be bursted for long ranges, but again, another thread......

    the ZoE Debuff for increased damage taken is pretty much offset by the amount of damage dodged because of the movement buff.
    One on one vs a NC/TR Max a ZOE can circle strafe around them taking minimal damage.

    Also you can't shoot when using the Charge (as far as I know) like the ZOEs can. So Charge 5 (while not bad) isn't nearly as useful as ZOE movement.

    Not that ZOE isn't OP and all, but how does ZOE dodge bullets? And what does a ZOE max gain from circling around an enemy MAX?

    ok 'dodged' might not be the correct word. I guess I should say 'ZOE's faster movement means less likely to be hit than the standard Max movement (or ZoE turned off). Which in turns means less damage taken.'
    Strafing (circling around) a slower turning NC/TR Max will usually mean the ZOE Max is hitting more often than taking hits due to the strafing speed advantage. The closer the ZoE Max is while circling around allows them to do more damage to the side/back of the player without taking as much damage from the NC/TR Max.

    Circle strafe a lockdown MAX? To get out of its lockdown arc restriction (worded right?).

    Actually you can and it's the way to cut Charge prematurely if needed.

    I'm pretty sure this thread backfired on the author.

    Did he honestly think people would read this and go "huh, he makes a very good point. ZOEs aren't so bad after all, lets go back to volcan OP threads"

    Lockdown provides a noticeable benefit at rank 1 - 4.
    Aegis Shield provides a noticable benefit.
    Charge has a noticeable benefit at rank 1 - 4.
    ZOE only has a minor noticeable benefit rank 1 - 4 for AV, and zero for AI. Only at rank 5 do you get a AI benefit of 1 bullet less for TKK.

    Soo.. TL;DR your '50%!!!' damage increase isn't actually a 50% damage increase since a Deci can't OHK a ZOE MAX...

    Okay I know this thread is long and you may not read this OP, but your math regarding DPS is...just awful. 1090.375/872.3 = 1.25. A 25% increase in damage is a 25% increase in dps.

    You took the reciprocal, which is .8, and said "Its only 20% to get to 100%, so its a 20% increase", which is wrong. You need to increase 80% by 25% to get to 100%.

    I reguarly go on 20 or 30 kill streaks with my ZOE, and it's not even maxed out, it doesn't matter how much dmg you take it's the movement speed buff that's important, you can be round a corner and kill before before you even render on the other players computer.

    I didn't read every post/reply on this thread, so this may have already been brought up - but one thing that's also a 'negative' for the about ZOE is being all lit up and glowing. Many times while in ZOE mode and running around to get to places quicker - ESFs and infantry can see me quite easily at night (and day too) due to the glowing effects. So you kind of got a big 'hey look at me' when in ZOE mode too. However, the movement buff & increased damage outweighs the glowing & increased damage taken effect by far.

    Dual Comets also are quite OP. It works great at medium/long ranges for both anti-vehicle/infantry. And of course up close IF you don't miss....the reload(s) can be a little long in a cqc fight.

    odd mine are always just 1 reload with r1, go vr and try.

    you are faster in assault, you are faster in retreat, you are faster in pursuit
    you do more damage
    if you get damaged turn it off, then turn it on again as you please it has no cooldown or charge you know..

    ZOE Max! Now that's one thing I can't play for crap! Any max suit for that matter. I think my longest times in them achieving anything goes like this VS.Max: 5-10min / TR.Max: 10-15min / NC.Max 15-20(on a good day) I am horrible in maxes and an HA's psssh. Dunno how some players domintate in those things..

    I'm going to leave this video here...

    At about the 4 minute mark, watch one ZOE take out 4 TR maxes. He has support, namely three infantry with what looks like light arms, but it's predominantly him. That guy lost only 1/3 of his health.

    It's perfectly plausible given the assumed skill and load out of the level 100 ZOE that I referenced.
