I'm a long-time PlanetSide 2 player but am new to cortium mining and construction. I keep wondering what happens to my silo and fortifications when I leave the game? Do they stick around, or disappear along with me? I've looked all over and can't find an answer. Thanks!
they stay there until the end of an alarm or otherwise destroyed ... never see them despawn anymore when left alone for too long which iirc was the case when hives were still a thing ... THERE NEEDS to be a significant decay for leaving PMBs alone too long as too many players throw down a silo, farm cortium and drop it, then leave their silo with no way for others to despawn it ... as a silo occupies a set area of territory to build on and often is not possible to access a silo build by a different player .. it also happens WAY TOO OFTEN players drop silos and bases too close to cortiumnotes or recently the elysiumminer blocking it from respawning permanently ..
Yeah, same decay as if you were online. Silo eventually empties stops dishing out repair ticks. Everything else slowly burns down. Unless you did it right when the continent opens it will likely survive to the continent lock.
Thanks for the replies. I’ve sometimes planted a silo only to decide it’s a bad location, but I don’t see any option for removing it.
there is a nanoweldingtool you can get from the silo leftclicking repairs like the engineer weldingtool (but only constructionassets i think) holding right click despawns YOUR contructionassets
There should be a tool you can get from the silo that allows you to dismantle structures you place. Not sure if it works on the silo, but I would think it does.
You can also just drop another silo, you'll get a prompt that your previous one will be destroyed. Then you're free to put another one down. It's nice to know if your other silo is getting harassed by vehicles or cloakers, you don't need to brave that in order to despawn it.
