How do you think the two games can learn off of each other? Do you think they can learn from each other at all? Leave some feedback down below folks, cheers. -CAMIKAZE78
Superficial things like weapon and vehicle mechanics, maybe even base designs? Sure, somewhat. But they're fundamentally different. One is a lobby-based shooter just on a slightly larger scale than other popular ones and the other is a full blown persistent MMO that dwarf's the scale of any other shooter. In Battlefield they have predictable scaling and smaller maps with a set time or win condition. Planetside 2 keeps on going and weapons need to be balanced on scales of anywhere from 12 vs 12 to 200 vs 200, with no set "win" condition. Battlefield has its place in gaming and it's fans as does Planetside 2. I do not see the two as directly competing for anyone who looks past the surface.
