Weapon Attachment Options

I've worked up my Medic certifications and got everything I need so I figured it was time to start looking into certifying my weapons. Right now I have access to the default Cycler and the NS-11A. All my Cycler has on it is a 2X Reflex sight because I like the look of reflex over Iron Sights. Now that I'm not grinding out Medic Certifications I wanted be to put some into my NS-11A because it has more options than the Cycler, plus I like the NS more.

I'm just torn on where to go with this and I don't really know much and I'm far from pro. My first thought was to put a grip and compensator on it with a 4X scope and stay back, but in the event I do find myself in CQB I think I'd be in trouble. I don't really know what to plan for in a loadout because thinks can change so rapidly and such. Any medics have suggestions for me? I'm mainly concerned about optics right now. I'm torn between a scope and reflex sight. I want a scope but I've heard there are penalties. Heck, I don't know.

I know some people don't like it because of the mental "adjustment" time when zooming in and the lack of peripheral vision, but I've always found the IRNV scope to be a great all-around option. It's great for picking out targets in a hectic battle (you're a medic, you're finding hectic infantry battles, right?) and is invaluable at night or when smoke grenades are being tossed around.

Outfit the NS for long range. Compensator, grip, medium to long range scope. It's not that good in close quarter.

Get the Cycler TRV for close range, put adv. laser on it (good for hipfire), 2.x scope. I have soft point ammo on mine, but that's down to personal preference.

AsAtroposZero poitns out the IRNV scope is quite good as well for close range. You'll need to swap it out for longer ranges though but it's an excellent choice for biolabs for example.

My long range gun of choice is the T1S Cycler outfitted with compensator, grip, high velocity ammo and 3.4x dot. The NS can outperform it at longer range, but it's not as good at close as the T1S. I have this loadout setup:
    1. TRV
    2. T1S
    3. Barrage shotgun with extended mag and slug ammo.

My advice is get a scope for the NS and then work on getting the TRV (IMO the TRV is the best TR AR, at least for my play style, it's 250 certs and well worth it).

On my NS-11, I use compensator, grip, and x2 reflex. I know many people prefer one of the lower-power scopes, but I hate scopes in close-range fights (which I can never avoid). I think the x2 reflex is fine for medium and long range, and it doesn't hamper me in close-range fights.

Also, do yourself a favor and pick up the TRV when you can. Equip it with a x1 reflex, advanced laser (get this attachment first), and *flash* suppressor (not the suppressor). Save it in a separate loadout and switch to it when you are expecting more close-range fights. The TRV just dumps out a ton of bullets (and damage) and the advanced laser gives you just the right amount of hip-fire accuracy.

My first gun was the T1S with an underbarrel grenade launcher, and it is a very fun, general purpose weapon; however, I rarely use it anymore. I just keep switching between the NS-11 and TRV.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and bought a compensator and grip and I'm loving the difference. Going to save for HV ammo. I'm going to put a scope on it and was wondering what magnification to grab. I thought about putting a 4X on it because I thought bigger was better. It seems everyone else favors 3.4X. Thoughts?

Regardless ill pick up the TRV. It sounds wicked and nasty.

Scopes are personal preference, a good rule of thumb is to go for the lowest powered optic that that allows you to hit targets comfortably at ranges you typically fight at. For me that's a 1X reflex sight since I can still hit enemy targets at longer ranges with it without too much trouble, and it has no hindrance on my CQC abilities (which is where I fight most). If you feel you need the extra zoom then get a higher powered optic, just keep in mind that the more magnification the higher the perceived recoil and the less effective you'll be at closer ranges.

I prefer the 3.4x because I engage at longer ranges with the T1S while still being able hold my own in close range. The 2x scope on the TRV is perfect for me because it doesn't hinder me in any way in CQC and allows me to suppress or kill people at longer ranges as well.
