The only ones who deserve anything are the NC for having to put up with this nonsense while being severely underpowered.
Because that makes sense; lets implement a system where the underdogs can make up the difference of 4-5 weeks leading faction points, in about one week.
WRONG: New answer: NANITES! As far as them changing mid season and yadda yadda yadda...so what? This was PRE-SEASON. I see pre season as being sort of like a beta test..."Hey, let's see what works and what doesn't so we when we actually start the season it'll run smoothly!". Or did I miss a memo and this was the actual season, not the pre-season?
The majority of the even was over by the time they compensated for population advantage so they made it so that the scoring in the first 4 weeks, before population compensation, would be worth less than in the last 2 weeks. If the compensation was in from the start it wouldn't have needed changed. This was the first time they did something like this and they fixed it from always favoring the most populated faction. If they hadn't changed it, no one would have been able to touch TR's score for the season.

"I know it's supposed to be best of 7, but If the underdog wins this ONE round they win the Cup." Or Alternatively You're up by X Points and the Second half rolls in and the ref says "Oh by the way, those 6 goals you have? Yeah. Now when the other team scores, Their points are worth triple, but you still only get 1 point per goal. Enjoy" Thanks for pulling the rug out from under our feet. It's bad enough that TR Pop drops drastically during Alerts on Mattherson because they all switch to VS because you guys didnt bother to server lock Factions.
then why are the weekly results still saying WEEK 5 WINNER IS TR? is it so difficult to edit that page? this is what's confusing. also, SEASON IS COMPLETE sign has been out there for a couple of days now, where's the result of the WEEK 6?

The elephant in the room, the long standing and suffering 3rd place faction NC - sure been a while since anyone ran up some trumped up charges of being OP against the NC, eh? I would personally argue that they have never been OP, despite their MAX being perceived as such for a short while many months ago.
So in other words you changed the rules halfway through because you didn't like the fact that one faction was overwhelmingly winning, and the result was that one faction overwhelmingly won? Got it. Good job as usual, boys.
Seems like a similar vein of trickery to the UES; VS wins the majority of events, TR takes home the cup on the only thing that mattered; twitter votes. Now it's TR wins the majority of events, VS takes home the cup thanks to a last-minute scoring change that favored the VS and NC. On one hand, at least it's based on the actual game this time. On the other, they disparaged a bunch of people's contributions to the competition again. When will they learn?
Considering how the system put in place had draw backs and flaws you rather have a broken system and win like that instead of a fair fight.
Even with the North Warp Gate the NC never saw a 4th faction swing or a significant increase in % score. Both the TR and VS did.
Changing the rules part way through is fine, that was the whole point of the pre-season, but awarding the "final prize" to the empire that won only because your changes basically undid everything that happened in the previous weeks was pretty dumb. I don't care about the decal, it's just the principle that bothers me.
The devs always seem to screw these events up somehow. Tbh. they should have let this event play out and then held another event later in the year, where they fixed the scoring system, instead of doing the changes mid-season. But atleast they try to create some sort of meta-game...
I think TB will make a video about this unfairness and will lead his mighty fanboys against SOE. it will actually happen only if SOE stopped paying to him
First four weeks was all about population. So the TR won by quite a large margin. Then they completely changed the point system so the north Indar warpgate was worth vastly more than anything else. They also introduced a top dog bounty in a ham fisted knee jerk attempt to fix the previous system. If you check the scores closely, you'll see that Indar was pretty much worth ten times the points of other continents and whoever holds the northern gate, holds pretty much half of Indar. So SOE decided that TR should get four wins and that VS should get two wins and the overall win. There was nothing we players could ever do to change anything. The contest was purely decided by SOE through the useless point system and nothing else.
No, giving the VS the northern Indar Warpgate for two weeks did it all. Do not even try to credit the result to anything we players did. It was all in the completely useless points system. When will you give all factions an equal amount of buffs and a "WDS Beta Test" decal. Because you cannot seriously give out a decal that claims anyone to be a winner in the face of this mess?
Tbh who gives a damn? So VS won the WDS, next time someone else win or maybe VS again. Time will show, it is a game, the scoring system has been equal for all 4 factions throughout the WDS. The devs did not intentionally place VS in a favored warp gate in order to make VS win. You all love conspiration theories I see.. The VS and NC both built up a lot of hate against TR during the first couple of weeks. Just check out the twitch tv interviews with the devs, everyone is telling NC and VS to gang up on TR since TR where the leading empire. Eventually it felt like fighting NC and VS on all fronts at all times while they left each other alone more than usual. Also the change in the scoring system meant that when NC and VS focused on killing TR the gain from doing so was a lot bigger than what it would've been earlier. All of that contributed, but then TR decided to focus on killing the NC since we all like shooting smurfs and also all the TR kind of has a thing for the vanu chicks who do have an amazing figure. Besides Luperza plays VS, we can't hurt Luperza.. Not intentionally at the very least..
