Waterson NC Amerish Obsession

it is not to late to come to the right side (4th faction)
  2. Baine828

The NC on Waterson are hilariously bad, the merge with Jaeger proved that. They can hardly take a base with 40% more pop than the enemy holding it, and I don't see them improving anytime soon.
  3. Czuuk

That may be true. Difficult to say since the MLG camera seldom never focus on DREV. All I can go by is what the announcers said.

I do look forward to seeing how the MLG evolves. Maybe there will be a day when they can actually set up some real events and H4TZ can continue our role as second fiddle.
  4. Czuuk

Your opinion has been noted. It's wrong, but it's been noted.
  5. Czuuk

And I expected exactly what I got.
  6. Oathblivion

    Why?

180 resource Reavers are why. TWENTY RESOURCES ARE IMPORTANT!!! >:O
  7. Laraso

Venting my irritation. Also, hoping that someone might be able to give me a rational explanation as to why the NC does what it does, which I haven't received yet.
  8. ARCStormtrooper

As a member of PHX who plays each night during peak hours each night we spend a great deal on Esamir too. We do seem to be allergic to Indar though.
  9. ThreePi

Mattherson NC is the same way. Its not uncommon for NC to have like 35-38% server pop but under 25% Indar pop.
  10. Revanmug

That's like me expecting that you will stop posting here.

That's call dreaming since it won't happen.
  11. ItsJustDash

We are dreaming now? Sweet! I am on a beach with a nice cold glass of sweet tea.

I was actually hopping on the forums in the hopes of starting a discussion about the (what appears to be) constant population advantage the TR have on Waterson. I expected to find myself preaching in a desert with the occasional rotten tomato thrown my way. However, it seems I'm not the only one to start wondering if I really want to log in when it's always like this.

I'm not knocking the TR, everybody has reasons for wanting to play a certain faction... but if somehow the devs could work out a way to balance the populations a bit more evenly, it would really go a long way. (imho).

Why do the NC do the things we do? Perhaps part of it is the foregone conclusion that the red team will probably have such a vast population advantage, there's just no fun in it. It doesn't leave much room for fun encounters, tactical gameplay, a bit of trickery, an honorable loss... etc.

It could be that the "Meta-Communication" to organize and share strategies amongst outfits isn't very well developed for the NC? Not sure. I don't have the command channel, and to be honest, I've only heard pretty bad reviews of what goes on in there.

It does seem, though, that I find myself knocking my head against my desk more often these days. I don't personally think it really has anything to do with Jaeger.

It will be interesting to see what the changes to the lattice system do. Presumably, it will allow factions with a disadvantage in population to better defend against being steamrolled... again, and again, ad nauseum.

Oh... to the person who mentioned getting yelled at in NC platoons... I hear ya. I have played TR in the past and experienced it there as well. Generally, that happens when the leadership consists of narcissistic megalomaniacs. Don't know much about the Vanu, but I would imagine that happens in every faction.
I use the Mute option liberally and there are certain outfits in which I mute leadership immediately. The ones that yell are never particularly useful in the least.

You could always try not reading my threads if I bother you that much.
  14. Czuuk

Make mine a mango margarita. With fresh mango and real tequila. None of that cuervo crap.
  15. ItsJustDash

And this is during the alert on Indar.

Why bother to own a continent now that is now TR? They will always have a bonus on at least two. The Vanu are not going to step off Indar because they are not going to put up with this ******** on the other regions.
  16. toxs

90% of platoons have a leader who does not know they are a platoon leader.
  17. MikeyGeeMan

Next time your on as tr look up v1c1 in the platoons listing and join up. We don't yell like that, one reason for its founding.
  18. ScrapyardBob

At the moment, I'm pretty sure that's due to the SE Indar gate curse.

Waterson NC is a mixed bag, apparently there are a few drama llamas in command chat which is hindering them as a cohesive faction.
  19. AssaultPig

A lot of waterson NC commanders seem to assign a ton of importance to holding some continent, any continent, because they'd like to imagine that there's some kind of meaningful metagame to be found in PS2. Since amerish is usually the lowest pop, it's relatively easy to pull a platoon or three over there and cap it. My hope is that we'll cap easimir one of these days and we can play don quixote over there instead.

In fairness to NC command though, I think at this point we can safely conclude that their issues are attributable to warpgate position. The SE indar warpgate is a pit of despair and has been for every faction.
  20. Crowne

I have to admit, NC isn't really helping themselves at times.

Right now, NC has 70% population on Amerish. We already own it.

In this case, it would seem we don't really need those numbers to hold on to Amerish? As a result, while we were making progress on Esamir, we lost substantial population as they transferred to Amerish to help defend it. I can understand and was there helping at first, until we had a comfortable enough buffer to move on. We don't need to have a majority of the territory on the continent(s) we already own, just enough away from the warpgate to not lose it while we capture elsewhere.

We were no longer in trouble there by the time the pop shift happened, in fact we were pushing out well enough that I had already moved elsewhere.

Am I missing something in my logic?
