There was way too many 3 way fights for my liking. Three-way meat grinders never change hands without a deal being cut by 2 of the factions. No amount of skill or tactics can over come that fact with Esamir bases having 200+ players in them.

Encouraging those 3 way fights makes the game nothing but TDM, imo. There are much better TDM games.

Then picking a single territory for all 3 factions to send all of their troops too, is a terrible idea at any time.

But there was some epic mindless zergs....................
  2. Pirbi

Our first two fights were 35% NC vs 65% TR so it wasn't apparent to me what the contest was about. Felt like a typical alert fight. But the fights were good and it did seem to balance toward the middle of the event as it became a 3-way.

I disagree with the idea that three-way fights are impossible to win. I think the last fight over Eisa was a good example, as the VS were having to shift back and forth to counter the TR and NC pushes; and there was some strategy with the sides timing their advances to steal capping this base or that base.

Though with next time, it might be neat to have only three fights, each an hour long, where the winner not only has to keep the contested base, but also has to keep a link with their warpgate. It might help to widen the conflict if all forces know they can cut off a bastion, rather than just rushing into it.

TR ditched the event's last objective, Eisa Techplant, so they can stack up and win the Amp Station alert.

Great job with the event, XOO! I wish I could have been home for this but I had a busy day.
  6. RHINO_Mk.II

    Me too :(

The whole point of the event was to be a large scale multi-faction battle for territories. There doesn't have to be deals cut for the player-run events. There is no prize... Each side wanted to win for purely bragging rights, if even that. Maybe you weren't present in the midst of most of the battles, but, there was an insane amount of tactic and skill involved (at higher levels than an individual), especially for defending the smaller bases. Some of the bases changed hands a few times before their end. Seems you're just looking for something to complain about... To each their own, but seriously. If you didn't like it, please don't show up for the next one, you were probably a burden to you squad/platoon. Go ghost cap some empty continent where the chance of conflict is slim to none. Not trying to be an ***, but geez, you just can't win with some people.

Well done on the organization behind this. It will be the players who will need to keep this game alive as SOE continues to be MIA.

You must be new. PS2 has always been TDM. There are no real objectives. You can capture a continent or win an alert, but none of it makes any difference.

Yes there is a massive conspiracy where all the TR are run by a hive mind and do exactly as they're told.
  11. NinjaTurtle

Well looks like I missed a good fight :(

I was being transported around many more times than just four over the event and the fight I was refering to only lasted foru about ten minutes before we were told to go back to Eisa. There was two large pushes against Eisa. The first time started with an even fight end then VS dumped an extra platoon in there so we had to give up.

From my stand point, it was mainly a large transport with a lot of being stomped on in the end and never any real comitment. It seems like the people on the eastern and western fronts were having a much better fight than I did. The squad I was in were all rather grumpy at the end. I think I managed to get 50 certs from two and a half hours of play. Not a very impressive amount for such a large battle. I think most of that came from Searro Listening Post where we had a pretty even fight between TR and NC. We were slowly winning by having C and B capped and tried to slowly push towards A. Then just as NC do a MAX crash towards B to retake it, VS drops a huge army so instead of it being 50/50 TR and NC, VS has 40 % population and wipes TR since we were stuck between the forces. That was not a fair fight.

I was not the least surprised when the TR population dropped below 30 %, I think we were at 29 % at the last battle of Eisa, as the Alert started. Guess most people on the middle front got sick of the lack of good fights.

I think that some of the fights were too choreographed to be enjoyable. It was more a matter of telling hoards of people to go to one place and the side that threw most people at that base won. It would have been much more interesting to give looser objectives and more time to actually get some team play and tactics in the thing. Guess Amerish would be the best place to run it then to get rid of the silly Lettuce that would be a wet blanket over the tactical creativity of such an event.

Hey man to put an end your complaining let me explain how it worked, all the objectives were passed to 3 people 1 tr 1 vs and 1 nc. They in turn passed it on to the outfits participating. At least for TR once we were informed of the objectives I told all the outfits and then we came up with a plan based on were people were. I don;t know what outfit you are in, but no one was told where to go. All the leaders decided. So you might want to stop pissing on the event and look to your outfit leadership if you don't like the way you guys handled it.

Common sense man, your have been complaining about how your outfit is run since this thread was started, most of the people are not trying to derail it but you need to catch on man. If you got redirected endlessly it was your outfit, we gave objectives every 30 mins, after that it was outfits calls.

Quite honestly a lot of people spent a bit of time on this event, including me. Next time if its not to your speed then go ahead and sit it out. Either way would really appreciate if you stop trying to pi$$ on everyones parade.

    Leader of BDM here <-

Had a blast last night! We definitely as a server, need to get these kinds of things going a LOT more. My guys were having a ton of fun kicking the crap out of VS and TR and the NC armor column that was pulled out of warpgate was phenomenal, one of the biggest I've seen on our server to date.

Overall, the night went well and as for a first time type of thing, it was good to test how everything would go. We plan on doing this bi-monthly so it won't be the last!

    Good job everybody that attended.

I keep hearing complements on the organization of this event, yet I never heard anything about this event before it started. Heck, I still can't understand what it was all about, even after reading this whole thread. Can someone please explain what happened?

    Greetings Auraxians!

On Saturday, September 7th at 20:00 EST the Waterson Collective invites you to participate in a large-scale battle on Esamir.

Anyone is more than welcome to show up and fight but, if your outfit is interested in being a part of your faction's battle plan let us know before August 31st by leaving a post on the Waterson Collective forums!

The event will last two and a half hours with two separate win conditions. Those just showing up to fight will win or lose based on territory owned by the end of the night. The outfits interested in participating in the battle plan however, will be given various objectives throughout the night which they must complete.

If you're a Planetside 2 streamer, Youtuber or other media figure and you'd like to cover the event send us an email at events@watersoncollective.com!

Thank you very much, that was quite informative.

I had a lot of fun last night thanks...it was especially good to see a lot of outfit members return for this that have moved on...hopefully with these events they will give them a reason to keep playing

Also, while everyone was was more than welcome to participate the primary coordination came from those that signed up.

The initial list of those signing up was:
XoO, IR, AUXG, DREV, HSTL, D3RP, DAWN, TBSQ, EGO, BRIT, VDRS, R8TH, VHOT, PXP, TRAF, DICE, NCSO, and Dragon Wolves.

However, I know that more joined later such as BJTC, VREV, NUC, TIW, and ODAM to name a few. So quite a large event with most of the major outfits showing up. I am sure I am leaving some out, but I can't remember all of the ones that attended - organized.

when I read this and look at your signature I can't help but smile as I picture R. Lee Ermey saying what is in your post.
