Was TR supposed to be the high accuracy faction?

I wonder what the hell happened to this. Right now TR is the LAST faction I'd think of if someone asked which faction had more accurate guns.

I have stock in brass, lead, tungsten, cordite and other materials necessary to mass manufacture the ammunition used by the mighty soldiers of the Terran Republic. I am perfectly fine with their high-cyclic rate, and see no problems at all with accuracy.

    VS does have bulletdrop.

It's most often NOT the case for TR though.

Don't pay much attention to supposed faction traits. At this point there's so few actual differences that they rarely make a noticeable difference. A fair number of guns are same across factions with extremely minor tweaks so there's rarely a truly faction specific trait.

That said the TR have a lot more 143 damage guns, and they typically have worse horizontal recoil which limits effectiveness at range, so yeah, I'd say the TR definitely don't have high accuracy.

thing's changed ,only 1 faction having accurate weapons across the board makes for a worse game i know tr has accurate weapons not to mention when ****** out some of their guns are almost pinpoint accurate with little to no recoil all factions effectively have these weapons so the high accuracy is now negated being a moot point.

Also note that that was more than a year and a half ago. The team could have changed their opinions on gun balance in that time period.

Many TR weapons are very accurate when not fired full auto, try tap firing some of the LMGs and watch the aim bot hate tells come steaming in.

What the actual ****. That post is 22 months old.

Why talk about it when the devs have probably shifted thier positions on infantry gun balance at least twice?

Also im told the TORQ is reasonably accurate for something with ~900rpm.

No, they're not. They have the same starting CoF as pretty much any 143 dmg tier gun. Tap firing low bullet damage weapons will also ruin your DPS, you have to let the weapon reset CoF. Go pretend you're good somewhere else.

VS and TR and almost the same faction. We only have minor differences. Which kinda makes sense lore wise seeing as the scientists who create our weps defected from TR.

I can see this thread already becoming one of those where I wish we had a dislike button as well. But then again, people are snowflakes and we can't harm their feelings even for the sake of sanity.

TR: Fastest but sacrifice damage and some accuracy
NC: Highest damage but sacrifice accuracy and speed
VS: Most accurate per shot but are supposed to sacrifice speed and damage per shot

A bit of a joke response with some truth to it: nothing like tap-firing weapons built around their high rate of fire...

You have to remember, many of TR's weapons were pretty accurate, but they've been nerfed since launch. Specifically speaking: the CARV, MSW-R, Cycler TRV, TAR, Jaguar, and the Repeater have all had either their ADS accuracy or their hipfire accuracy nerfed since launch.

The original faction traits were stupid anyway, really. We should've had unique mechanics, not traits that directly make one factions guns better for close range or long range.

RoF shouldn't be a faction trait
High damage shouldn't be a faction trait
No bullet drop was basically removed as a faction trait

Anyone remember when VS had worse bullet drop off due to having no bullet drop? And everyone actually complained about no bullet drop in spite of it being a curse on most weapons? Hilarity.

That's kind of TR's situation now, our guns are downgraded so that they can put our trait on them. Granted, more bullets per mag is still more substantial than no bullet drop, but overall there's just no reason to blanket apply that to our carbines and ARs - I think SABR 13 being the one exception.

TR weapons *do* have high accuracy, they have excellent shot grouping even with sustained fire. Whacky make-believe "horizontal recoil" (lolololol) doesn't hurt the shot grouping, it just makes it harder to maintain fire on the target. NC weapons don't have good shot grouping after a few rounds, their cone of fire increases way too much (this effects the actual *accuracy* of the weapons). VS weapons are somewhere inbetween

The problem with TR weapons isn't a lack of accuracy, it's just that they are harder to use at maximum efficiency, while NC and VS weapons have better effect because they're easier to use. Theoretically if you had perfect mouse control and perfect aim, the TR weapons would have the highest effective accuracy in the game
