VS MAX weaponry request:

    Dear SOE, please allow me to equip dual Manticore pistols instead of the Quasars or variants thereof.
    These pistols should retain their punch and accuracy.
    Also, a significant ammunition store.

    I don't think signing a request with "give me because i suck" is very compelling. Also dual manticores with same stats but more ammo would be hideously op.... and i'd kind of like to see it, but just out of curiosity and amusement, like on a test server.

    You misinterpreted. He's not saying he sucks, he's saying that the weapons are so inaccurate that player skill cannot make a difference.

    For those that haven't used the Manticore, I can say that it is a bit of a beast. So how come two pistols would be "hideously op" compared to two supposedly-heavy weapons? Does that speak well of MAX design?

    Kills by RNG (or getting so close you can share decals) isn't fun for anyone: Not the shooter, not the shoot-ee, not the people observing. It is not challenging or good gameplay.

    In addition: Ripshaft, I don't recall signing off that I sucked. So thanks for that.

    Statement:
    Quasars: Anti infantry weapon.
    Comet: Anti vehicle weapon.

    Analysis:
    Quasar are ineffective beyond bayonet range at taking down infantry.
    Comets are ineffective at penetrating, much less damaging vehicle armor.

    Statement = false.

    Error:
    Comets are effective at taking down infantry.

    New statement:
    Comet: Anti-infantry arm cannon=true(?)

    Report error to sysadmin. Beep-boop.

    I suggest that you try the cosmos. It's the most accurate of the lot, has the biggest clip, and is also more or less tied for the top dps. The gun descriptions in the store are wildly off. My opinion of VS maxes changed a ton when I started using it. Even though your CoF is invisible, the same things work for maxes as infantry. Crouch for a tighter cone, and burst fire groups of 5-6 shots if you want accuracy. You can kill things at surprising range with this gun if you know what you're doing.

    I suggest laser beam type weapon for the VS MAX for anti-infantry.

    I have dual cosmos and I have to say, they're powerful and with extended magazine on both, over 220 ammo per both hands is just awesome. People die left and right and its pretty accurate. Didnt had much chance to go 1vs1 vs maxes but nailed 2 tr ones in straight fight.

    All I can say is: Why doesn't all the MAXes have access to a NS assault rifle/burst rifle that's a lot bigger and has to be used in two hands? Much higher accuracy, the ability to iron sight. At the trade off that you'll lose any straight up fight with an enemy MAX in CQC because your DPS is only that of a single AI weapon? Thus trading your ability to push points as effectively in a base for actual Flexibility.

    We should get a huge fricken plasma beam that projects about 10m then quickly drops off. Useless at range but anything in the beam gets instantly fried :D

    Dual Lashers would be really nice!
    Or 2 hand bigger Lasher canon for AI.
    2 hand Comet with optics for long range engagements.

    On the heavy, it needs a buff, but equipping two, on a suit that can take more damage and already mounts inefficient weaponry?
    Darn, imagine the lightshow!

    It's all in the planning.
    Try Cosmos + Comet. The anti-tank burst is the key (and has pin point accuracy). After Comet lands, it only takes 2 more shots from Cosmos to kill, so you don't need to fire full auto.

    I've tried it, it doesn't work for me. Enemies are surviving two simultaneous Comet hits lately, I have no idea what is going on with that.

    I don't think double comet hit has ever killed anyone (or maybe it does? Never did for me, except on friendlies..that works for some reason), which is why I don't use DW Comet. It's probably just hard coded in that way to make sure that our AT load out isn't our best AI load out as well.
    For this reason, 2 comet hits are just marginally better than 1 comet, and the reloading will kill you afterward. However, 1 comet + AI gun will basically disregard the reload time for you, while still keeping that front load damage. It's the only way to go, really.

    The Assault weapons are totally garbage for VS full stop.
    We don't even have a Hacksaw equivalent.

    Would be nice to get either some constant energy beam or one hailstorm type weapon in exchange for having two weapons.

    The Hailstorm is suppose to be ESF anti-air but that weapon is so effective against infantry as well.
    Mows down one infantry faster than a whole mag of rocket pods.

    I got killed by a single hit from a single Falcon yesterday full health and shields to instagib - you would think that two Comet hits would vapourize an infantryman.

    Seriously? In their current form you would be weapon locked in less than a minute. Either that or dead from the lashing one arm would give the other. Or something equally idiotic.

    Frankly right now I would just be grateful for weapons that worked. Like when I unload on a HA in front of me the bullets all hit the target. So sick of multiple hits not registering and having to either rush into melee range to bash them or flee.
