VCO casual ops! Chillin like an entire prison of villains! Wait, what? Chillin like an entire pizza of villains! That's more like it! :p

VCO found itself on Hossin for some max & relax gun-play. I've been practicing my Infiltrator for the past couple of nights and hooooaa boy this sure is fun! I've learned I'm still not a fan of the sit-in-back-and-try-to-hit-something-a-million-yards-away sniper action, but the hard-hitting mid-range weapons are most certainly welcomed editions to my collection of fave guns. The SAS-R has been my go-to thus far, I love the ability to repeatedly dish out that sweet 550 and the chamber time is only a smidgen longer than my good friend, Mr. Gawdsaw. Ended the evening with a 2+ K/D, a very welcomed changed to what I am accustomed to and a much welcomed sign of improvement.

After VCO proper closed down for a brief break, I joined up with 4thwrld and the VTA crew. It was my first time seeing our fledglings in action and I was most certainly not disappointed. We took three bases before the evening was through, the most memorable fight being Roothouse Distillery. We entered via Gal drop and divided into fire teams immediately upon entry. After finding a good place for the motion spotter, joining my mates on top the long stairs and having a damn fine time sniping almost all who dared entered our new home. After failing to enter from the bottom level, a few sneaking VS attempted to enter from the rear (giggity). Grenades flew in, but simple awareness was enough to evade. Not even the VS Max could break our wall of freedom and guns. A hell of a fight and well-earned victory. VTA dropped in outpopped, remained outpopped, and took the base outpopped. Better luck next time, VS.

Check us out Friday at 9PM EST for the next official ops! I'll be there, guns blazing and blood thirsty as always.... or maybe I'll just drink some rum. I think it tastes better than blood anyway. :p

VCO official ops on Esamir! You better see it coming, otherwise you'll just get trampled in our wake. I rolled in Alpha and we were treated to some of the gawd damn best leadership in the game. The immortal Azndoc in the driver seat, our take-no-prisoners Drill Sergeant Krindusk as second, and I?... I murdered stuff. Lots of stuff.

Alpha kept itself moving. We hardly spent more than two minutes at any one fight as both TR and VS pushed us across a wide western front. The most memorable fight for me, and one of the few we spent a little time with, was the siege at Nott Amp Station. Alpha's first priority was to take out the turrets hindering our Gals and friends in Air Div. How did we advance on the walls guarded by ohhh roughly a squad on infantry and turrets without them alerting their buddies? Gal drop? Hell naw, we rode up in style! We rode up invisible! For the first time in my planetside two career, the order came to pull Wraith Flashes and move to the base via invisible pain train. Since it was the first time, may not be surprising to learn that I, at this time, do not own a wraith flash. so I rode up in the sunderer pulled by one of our squad medics. :p

Effective foothold established, we took down enough assets to let our gals pull in and peel out. Alpha and Delta then moved to control of the outer towers and cover Bravo and Charlie as they ensured the SCU shield gen evaporated. Shield blown, a small tatical nuclear strike's worth of explosives were thrown into the SCU room and its corridors. Bodies on both sides fell as the skirmish continued. I'm not entirely sure how they did it, but Delta managed to get an infiltrator inside the vehicle bay. Blast shields still up, Delta spawned a sunderers and parked them to allow the entire platoon to sunderer jump into the point room. Alpha pulled assets too, for which I was very happy to gun. Bulldogs make quick work of infantry and assets alike and even a max crash back into the point room wasn't enough to kick us out. The base was ours.

Despite the true-blue rapid redeployment and the rocky start Alpha experienced this evening, I still ended the night with a positive K/D. We rocked face, saved face and left our names across more than a few bases. Want in? You know you do. Next official ops is Sunday at 8:00PM EST.

VCO casual ops found those brave souls of VCO braving the frigid temperatures of Esamir... or maybe that was what the other guys thought. I'm still lookin forward to snowboard weather, myself.

Me? I had tons of fun blastin and relaxin. Our journey took us to Terran BL-4 Crash Site and maybe it's been a long time since I made it that far south of Nott but dang, she looks pretty sweet. Neat little broken-down biolab fixtures for us to hide in. It didn't strike me as any particular advantage, but I suppose I may had been proven wrong. The TR had high ground as their spawn room stood on top of a hill overlooking the B- Point building and entry into the C-point, where VCO staged itself. Rolling one of my fave Heavy kits, the start of the battle found many a kill secures from allies. Thanks mates :p But after discovering a nifty cascade of shielding that made superb cover to assail the far east flank. I got more than my far share of kills as red dots wandered bewildered from the spawn room. Tons of fun guys!

Brace yourselves Emerald, yet another Serversmash tomorrow and yet another opportunity to prove why we have the best outfits in the game, all factions included! Good luck mates! Official ops to take place afterwards (maybe), 8:00PM EST.

VCO participated in the Emerald vs. Miller Server Smash with pride. We had a lot of people there, and we helped our platoon push all the way to the warpgate. While we were a few seconds too late on the final base cap, the amount of cohesion and coordination displayed by the guys in my squad/platoon was quite amazing. There was so much base leapfrogging that happened immediately after a previous base's point became uncontested.

VCO's ready to do work. I also got the delight of taking the '320' character name, instead of our own Helix320. That's my highlight, as dunking on Helix is always fun. Good work guys!
  9. Hatsunemiki

Congrats to Emerald for once more proving that we can click people into oblivion far more effectively than any other server in the game! Huzza!

HatsuneMiki? I've been spending a bit of my PS2 time editing the next in the training video series. And, oh yeah, the latest VCO Moments is live. :p Other outfits who read this! You gotta try dice ops, man! It's a great time! :D

Tonight, I rolled with casual platoon. Although it was more like causal squads who just happen to be in the same place and murdering everything else. I don't think there were more than two fights we didn't take. In fact, it was the one that we didn't that became most memorable of the evening. East Cannon Checkpoint looked like it was gonna be just another cap for the evening. The TR certainly has a presence but it was locked in their spawn room by rooftops, bridges and mountains covered in NC firepower. The TR decided they had enough of us and pulled the single largest Max crash I've seen pulled for just a single-point facility. Two platoons! No kidding! Red and Black and Metal rolled across the bridge. Sure, we expected Maxes (who doesn't after the no-cooldown update, amiright?), but not that mass of Gundam rejects! AV grenades were thrown, rockets fired. We took down as many as we could, but it wasn't enough. It was sure a sight to see, though.

It proved to be one of the better fights, so we redeployed to Galaxy Solar Plant to keep it alive. We took the point and awaited what new glory was to come when those squishy TR bodies attempted to fend us off twice in a row. Well, it seems the creativity doesn't shine brightly among the oppressors. They tried the same thing again! Well, I guess if it works once, right? We were ready this time. AV Grenades and Bandoliers across the squad. The TR crashed, the TR gave a hell of a fight too. I'll give them credit, they still put up a fight despite our anticipation and explosives. But even the TR machine couldn't touch the point quick enough, the cap finishing even with TR still in the point building. Another day with a positive K/D and a few more good memories with buds and bullets. Good fight, boys!

The next official ops will be Wednesday at 8:00PM EST.
  10. Hatsunemiki

VCO official ops? Yup. The boys and gals in Indesert are back once more to tear up Esamir. A fun night with one goal for the evening, take Rime Analytics. Results? Successful! Voodoo Company owned the best fight we could find.

The TR didn't just hand it over though. It took us three times to assail the single-point! I was rolling in Charlie as Infiltrator this evening, putting some of my recent practice into.... actual practice. I managed to end the evening with positive K/D once more so I guess I can't be too bad for my first day on the job. Huzza! The point building in Rime is easily surrounded and breached, so Charlie focused on maintaining the buildings along the west side. My SAS-R proved a very effective weapon for the environment, earning headshots in between the attempted smokes. I say 'attempted' because the TR used smoke grenades several times to cover their advance but each time it proved to be more of a hindrance. When they would finally kick us out, it was usually done without the aid of the grenades. I wonder what's the most effective way to use smoke, I've seen it done a few times to make a pseudo wall to great effect. Can anyone think of a better way? Be neat to learn.

Catch us next time on Friday at 9:00PM EST.

VCO offic-asual ops (That's the name, dammit!)! Why offic-asual? Because we're breaking new ground... sorta. After what I was told was a very intense squad meeting, Aeflic and the gang announced a change-up to our usual routine. Instead of issuing orders via command lines and delegation, every single member of VCO occupied a single Team Speak chatroom and listened in to orders. No micromanagement, no delay in orders because of leads relaying things back to one another in between explaining things to squadmates. Essentially managing the entire platoon as one squad and leaving much more autonomy to each solider.

Results? Varied, really, but it was still a super fun time. Having practiced my solo play much more often as of late (sorry, I only make diary posts when I play with VCO. Just gonna have to imagine what other shenanigans I get into on my own. :p ), I felt more comfortable with the gun-play than I would have if this change was made a few weeks ago. I rolled as a Heavy in Charlie Squad and the most memorable fight, for me, was Tumas Skylance Battery. Charlie dropped in among the rest of the platoon, assisting Bravo in securing a small building and fending off the TR who trickled in. The TR began to rally, pushing towards the northern flank. As pops were starting to become not in our favour, it became clear that stacking in one or two locations would just get everyone killed. Orders were simple; Alpha take the north building, Bravo the south, Charlie run in-between. Moving from cover-to-cover, sqeezing that Guass Saw trigger (guess I can't keep calling it my Gawd Saw now that there actually IS a "God Saw" in the game. Thanks Obama!... er... SOE!... also, I'm still Canadian!). Popping head shots on more than one daring Light Assault and even claiming a Max kill with a well-timed AV Grenade. Soon enough there were VCO names on the NC's latest piece of real estate and HatsuneMiki was feeling fine.

It took me, among others, get into the groove of the new structure. But by the end, I kinda like it. Lets hope it just gets better from here.

The next official ops is Sunday at 8:00PM EST. See you then, folks!

VCO still kicking *** and taking names. Still offering the BEST platoon experience that the Emerald NC has to offer. Don't believe us? Contact an officer, visit our website, or join us on TS3 and find out for yourself!

VCO casual shenanigans! Esamir, do you even know? Do you even know what storm raged on your subtle, naked body? Wait... who decided that 'subtle' is sexy? Dammit America, learn to English better!

I simply wanted to farm up some certs for tomorrows festivities so I ran as medi-heavy-gal pilot guy once more. Didn't matter though, everything was super causal. The only orders, do your jobs and mess **** up for anyone in purple or red. Broke even with K/D, first time that's happened when I didn't pick a dedicated role so I guess I'm still improving. There wasn't one fight that stuck out in particular, but any day I find legit reason to burst some fool down with my Carnage AR is a good day.

Check us out for official ops Wednesday at 8:00PM EST.
  14. Hatsunemiki

You know what's fun? Being an infiltrator and being able to sit immediately in front of someone as they walk into your knife! You know what's more fun? Being an entire two squads of that! VCO's first meeting of Poose's Pioneers had us investigating ways to improve our game as those devious cloaked rouges and hell it was fun! I personally caused a TR traffic jam, had some fun sniping, got an explosion kill with someone else's proxy mine, and had some dude rub his junk in my face!.... Probably shouldn't be so proud of that last one.... Expect the video soon!

The next official ops is Wednesday at 8:00PM EST. See you then!

VCO official ops! Bustin some nuts on Indar for some long range pew pew pew and boom boom boom! Seriously, almost all of our fights required use of my Saw or Warden. It was awesome! I usually don't like long range combat simply because it's rarely effective in this game (kinda need those bodies on the point), but not only did VCO packed a punch, it packed a long-range rocket-propelled punch dispenser aimed at both squishy bodies and metallic vehicles!

I rolled with Bravo squad as a Heavy primary but flexed a little with Engie when we needed a few extra Maxes on the field. The most memorable fight for me was the first of many battles over West Highlands Checkpoint. The Vanu pulled as many assets as they could to defend against our allied armour push. More tanks wouldn't help, and rushing the point would have been suicide, so the three squads split themselves across respective mountain tops and rained hell on the purple zealots. The Vanu struck back, sending magriders and small infantry to take us out. But it wasn't enough and Bravo kept racking up both vehicle and long-range kills. Armour threat minimized, a slow siege began to give our blueberry armour time to catch up. Bravo started by taking the gate tower to the northwest of the base and... things happened. Not sure why, but everyone on my screen started flying and I was capable of killing people in delayed time.... methinks I experienced teh laggs. Either that or my charcter decided that fight was the EXACT best time to experiment with LSD... don't do it kids.

NC on point, well deserved Warden kills, and another victory for VCO. A fine way to start the evening, if I do say so myself.

Check us out next time on Friday at 9:00 PM EST.

Hey folks, just a quick update for ya'll: Aeflic and a good crop of leaders recently stepped down and merged with BAX. As such, I've taken back over as outfit leader.

And I would like to say that VCO is still alive and well! We're currently at just over 100 members, but are looking to expand up to around 500. This means we'll be needing warm bodies now more than ever, and especially new squad leaders and platoon leaders!

Think you've got what it takes? Apply today!
  20. Hatsunemiki

Planetside.... DID YOU THINK YOU COULD STOP ME!?

HatsuneMiki! VCO! The prophecy shall not be denied! Muhahahaha!

Okay, so I did join up with BAX after the merger between our two awesome outfits and discovered that it's not the best place for me right now. I stand to do a lot more for my community and the NC faction by fighting along side Chris and my VCO brothers and sisters once more. A big shoutout to all those who went off to join BAX and for the BAX core itself for being a super awesome bunch of bros and I look forward to working with you guys across the battlefields. To all who may read this, I know that ours is not the first clan to merge with another. If yours does, remember that you're not really losing your allies. You still fight for the same side and can play together towards victory. All that changes is the tags, everything else is the same, man.

Getting back into the swing of things, VCO ran an Indar Alert Op this evening in which I played the role of Alpha Squad Lead. How was the grand return to both an official VCO op and leadership in such? Freakin awesome! We ran one and a half squads; not quite enough to perform our classic point holds. So instead, we focused on asset destruction. A lot of destruction... 11 FREAKIN SUNDIES WORTH! The battlefield across NS Research Labs and, later, Regent Rock Garrison became littered with TR tanks and spawn logistics. Having the lead in the alert, the NC set up as potent of a defense as it could. While the rest of the NC drove them back, VCO kept them down. Orders were simple; destroy as many sunderers as we could. Gal drop after gal drop was made. At one point I had very much fun being a living sundie-spotter, running around with a stalker cloak and dropping the occasional unwary TR with some quick bursts from my Desperado. Alpha ran tight, quick to drop and effective enough to drive the TR back by a good 30 minutes. Eventually they got fed up and started camping our warp gate. The nerve! We just had to flush them out. To their credit, they held for a fairly long time. But even out manning us by half a squad, we still beat them down!... annnnd then they tried it again. With 10 minutes left in the alert, we just ignored them at that point. Well played, boys, it was fun. :p

Until we get a sizable lead core again, we're not sure if Sunday ops will still be ran. Even so, I'll probably be up for some casual squad regardless. If you do wish to come out and see us for official ops, then catch us next Monday at 8:00 EST!
