    How? What's the first step?

I basically like everything about this patch even I think we need to have more structures in the Ant menu.
    My only concerns:
    1) I'm afraid Amerish and Hossin still have too many bases to actually host the Construction System.
    2) The Ha shield change is not easy to evaluate.
    3) Population on pts is kinda low to actually understand the effect on the battle flow of the new indar or the Construction System.
  4. Nalothisal

Meh I never used the NMG or Adrenaline anyway, thought it as too much of a hindrance. Love my resist shield.

By gaining what we want in a new content

For example now we get the ants a whole new gameplay and so much more to do in the game, this patch can be game changing so thats a step to the future next dont feed the trolls and lets just see what the game has to offer, today i saw MANY of my old clan come back andd i didnt expect it and their impressions showed that they loved this game again so it looks this game is going better
  6. DeadlyOmen

    No. By owning your experience.

There is nothing wrong with wanting new content. There is an inherent flaw in wanting a self-serving experience.

It's really a shame that every change people don't agree with nowadays are immediately blamed on 'cyberbullies' and 'crybabies'. You talk about in-game challenge, even though from the very launch of the game HA's have had too much versatility and capability to fight off other classes.

You still have an advantage: 450 health of it, combined with a mighty LMG and a strong rocketlauncher. The coming changes force the HA to be much more skillful to be powerful, and equalizes the amount of carnage you can do with the same skill on other classes.
Right now, you need like 100 skill with a HA to destroy 10 people. With 100 skill on any other class, you can only kill 6 people, as an example.
So your moaning about 'in-game challenge' is basically a cry for keeping your crutch that you've come to rely on, that you probably can't even work without. After the change you might feel how much skill you really have... And I think that scares you because you have an inkling of what is going to happen to your idea of skill and how good you are...

Now me, my stats will probably go through the roof. I'll annihilate HA's with an LA as I've always done, only much easier than before.

And this is the root of the entitlement problem that should have been killed in PS2 years ago.

This person, and those most vociferous in calls for the evisceration of their favorite (current) bad-guy, think that units designed for one thing should be able to perform unilaterally with units that are specifically designed to to the task for which the former subject is directly violating.

Evidently, they think it easier to lobby to change the paradigm of the game than to produce situations where their chosen weapon type is at an advantage.

Speaking of slippery slopes, they're next. And yes, they will cry too.

While one could point to the idea that this belief is the result of being uneducated to the point of not understanding combined arms theory and application, it is becoming more and more evident that something much sadder is happening. Entitlement as a positive cultural trait has infiltrated modern society- even into places where competition is the rule.

Thanks for the video. I might pick up the game again when this patch is out.

Are the ANTs and crystal harvesting giving anyone else flashbacks of the original Command & Conquer?

    Anyone?

Was anyone else here even alive, let alone old enough to be PC gaming, when the original Command & Conquer came out?

    *cricket noises*
  15. Devilllike

Tell that to the cry bullies :)

At launch, Rocketpods could one-clip vehicles and nosecannons could destroy Skyguards before the Skyguard could kill them. This was heavily defended because of the "skill floor required" and "it's designed that way". Then when it was changed people also said that the crybabies got their way.
ZOE anyone? After the change the 'crybabies got their way' too
    Banshee? Same story.
Because get this: If something is justifiably changed, there's someone who doesn't like it. And then they blame people by calling them crybabies.

Get this: The Heavy has been too multi functional from launch.
What goals you can perform in the game? Well if you want to capture a base you need to fight off groups and attack the point/overload a generator, best done with Heavies. Then you need to defend against solo or group incursions, best done with Heavies. You might need to destroy Sunderers or other vehicles, which any Heavy can easily do if they come by. Or you might want to have a good KD as infantrymen, usually best done with... The Heavy.
This is the problem that has been going on since launch. While other classes can perform specialized tasks, the Heavy is capable of handling all the situations and most of the time just as good or better than other classes.

Now I would have preferred the Heavy to stay the same and in-game capture mechanics and goals to change so other classes become more viable and useful in multiple situations than the Heavy. But this change is a good step. The Heavy is still as multi-functional as it has always been, but the huge advantage it's always had has been minimized, meaning that other classes can perform similarly with about the same skill.

Ok let's analyze what you are saying:
The other classes need to produce situations where their chosen weapon is at an advantage.
We know that the Heavy has an advantage if the other classes don't produce situations where they have an advantage, because of the LMG, rocketlauncher and shield giving a direct combat-boost.
All the while you are completely ignoring that the things that other classes can do so can the Heavy, with the exception of the LA maybe. The Heavy can also create situations where it's at an advantage, such as when defending a point, then Heavies are at an advantage. And get this: The Heavy has more situations where it's at an advantage, because when other classes can't get an advantage the Heavy still has his shield, LMG and rocketlauncher.
And this is the crucial point where your argument is going to be "it's designed that way", well it's not. The Heavy was designed to get in after the other classes. There were terminals that could be destroyed by small-arms fire of LA and infiltrators, who could get in quickly and get out before the enemy Heavies could show up with their firepower and shields. But such goals were removed from the games in favour of... King-of-the-hill gameplay, which the Heavy excells at more than any other class.
The reason the LA is your starting class at the beginning of the game and after you died as a MAX is because it was supposed to be the main class of the game. The LA was designed to be the most used class, the class everyone should be using when not doing a specialized role! But the Heavy could do both his specialized role of defending and bringing in the power as well as the roles the LA was supposed to do.

Who are next, the crybabies or LA? I wish LA were next, they would finally get their augmentations they need!

Wait, you are saying that the Heavy, who basically removes the need for a varied amount of combined arms, is subject to a group of uneducated people who can't figure out how to combat him?

Come off your high throne, you've lost your toy and now have to actually work for it. You are the entitled one who wants to try and keep his crutch, you want to keep your weapon that makes it much, much easier for you to win the competition. Guess what, after the change you still can, unless you don't have... The skill for it.

Git gud man! Stop crying about what's lost! Show us your skill! adapt to the new situation! It's not like they will nerf HA's into the ground! They still have all their advantages, they just aren't as tanky as before, but still more tanky than any other class!

This does not excite me at all, Yet another re work to indar and most likely the other continents to make sure this whole thing works properly, Which will take about another year to fully implement and bug crush and it may not even work at all ( can see those bugs getting squashed by the high populated factions easy).... AS for the heavy..... the Heavy assault was fine as it was these nerf buff wars have ruined a lot of great weaponry in the past and it's ridiculous for a game at this scale of players that should be working on a team effort to eradicate a high level of threat not just run to the forums and cry about OP I die too much, Now people just run through sprays of bullets and survive.
  19. Savadrin

When I open up full on an unsuspecting heavy, and on my death screen see that I barely got through the shield into his normal shield, there might be a small problem.

Yes, the problem could be my choice of engagement, but if you get the drop on an unaware player, it should probably be closer than LOLWUTSSHOOTINGMEBRRRRRTHUEHUEHUE thx for certs bruh.

And if the game doesn't excite you, or upcoming content doesn't excite you, that's perfectly fine. Not every patch is favored by everyone.

But what does excite you, and why do you stay and play? What would be better?

It's easy to criticize and point out problems, but coming up with solutions is more involved.

Is it just me or is DeadlyOmen full of hot air and nonsense?

"In a game without real immutable physics nothing can be measured against anything and no arguments can be made against anything and if you say otherwise you're a crybully. By the way, I just invalidated EVERYTHING I said because in this game without immutable physics I can state for a fact that HA was fine and shouldn't be changed!!!!"

Yeah whatever man. Go shovel this hubris somewhere else please.
