Hi, my specs are as follows: i5-3570k ATI 7850 not OC'ed (getting artifacts ) 8GB 1920x1080 Before the huge 4.5GB patch, I was getting consistent framerates, 60fps-120fps After the huge 4.5GB patch, I was getting somewhere around 55-80fps. After the patch that fixed optimization, I'm getting 30fps-60fps. It seems like performance is extremely slow when there are a lot of people now.
What driver version are you running for the ATI graphics card? If the answer is the latest ones, then try rolling back 1-2 versions. I know someone with crossfired 5850s who had great performance until he upgraded to the 13.10s (on patch day). When I suggested he tried rolling back to his previous versions (12.10s) most of his artifacts and crappy fps went away again (not completely though). Im running 12.10s and I get 35-100 (i play with it capped at 60) fps with a single 5870.
I doubt this is the issue, but did you by any chance turn on v-sync since the patch? It maxes you out at 60fps (might differ if you have a 120Hz monitor?) I made that mistake once and didn't understand why I dropped from 100+ at warpgates to a constant 60. Unchecked v-sync and was back to normal. Big Battles are a whole different story. I'm still all over the place on those. But, as of yesterday, I'm seeing the best performance I've had since launch.
