Had a question about the engineer's class Deployable Turret and two ideas for Vehicle customization for the Sunderer and either the Flash or the Lightning (since these vehicles are all the same for all three factions). First off, I've read rumors about being the devs talking about making the Deployable Turret more customizable. I've heard things like they want to incorporate different ammos (which would be like different turrets all together), different optics like all other vehicles, different utilities such as ammo, defense like a face shield, and even secondary weapons and would like to know where this thread or twitter message might be? Now for vehicle ideas, I know I'm going to get flamed.. but maybe not For the Sunderer I kept thinking it was almost useless when I began playing Beta. To me anyways. Then I learned you can have it restore ally armor ammo and repair them also, making it amazing! But I was thinking. SUNDERER IDEA=What if instead of the sunderer having two turrets and being able to deploy for a mobile spawn unit. What if it had two directional turrets on the sides and when it deploys, a massive, powerful cannon (like the 150 mm cannon on the bottom of the Liberator, but maybe bigger[and more options such as a massive AA chaingun instead]) comes up, out of the top? It's a Sunderer so it's already a HUGE target on the battlefield.. No one seems to want to defend a Sunderer on an open battlefield even when it's supplying them their ammo. But Imagine rolling out with 2 or three of these in an armored platoon on Amerish? Amazing. Now for the Flash/Lighting..... I lean WAY towards the Flash for this since the lightning is already so versatile and the HEAT rounds make it a force not to be taken lightly when on foot or a vehicle. And the flash is directional, weak, and isn't used enough in my opinion.. FLASH/LIGHTNING IDEA=Make it have a deployable state also, but completely opposite to the mobile artillery idea. A very large, long barrel folds out and it is a super-accurate, armor-piercing, High-velocity round that can take down infantry in a base a mile away and gives high damage to light armor(if that makes sense). It would have a long reload and you'd be vulnerable the whole time because of this. But I was thinking so much range as to have a 12-20x optic system on it and very little if any bullet drop. Please share opinions, not burns.. I know the Devs have a set plan, but this could make that moment when you assault a defense tower amazing! It will literally be war. Not Hiding, camping, and hoping they don't take down your generators. They will have to move out and battle.
I'd actually be ok with the Sunderer being able to deploy an artillery cannon (not a direct fire weapon) instead of using AMS/Shield Breaker/etc. The lack of artillery is one of the things I feel is missing from PS2, and this would be a good way to fix that. The M60 is close, but it's still not really artillery. The Flash/Lightning idea not so much, that vehicle is already incredibly versatile.
That's why I want it for the Flash instead of the Lightning. The Lightning is so far the only vehicle with an anti-air primary weapon. Even though it's pretty useless..
