[Suggestion] Vanu in server Cobalt...

...just sucks, they are zergs all times and there is only one outfit that rules,The Foundation. Without that outfit,Vanu sucks. I have one Vanu char btw,but its the easy way. This night we are 20 TR versus 70 Vanu. This is named overpop. And the TR reinforcements never arrive. I think that people go to Vanu in major cases. What Vanu have???? I always said that Vanu, when i play Vanu, gives cookies and medals to valiants, but its a joke. Vanu must stop to recruit people in server Cobalt. If i remember correctly, some time ago there is a restriction for joining to a faction that was overpop. Or maybe i confuse games. But please DBG,implement the overpop restriction to every faction overpooped, like Vanu in Cobalt. Its impossible to beat Vanu zergs of this magnitude.

Please join an outfit and maintain a K/D of above 1.0 before commenting on game balance issues.

Please dont use cheats, specially on cheating server before commenting my K/D issues.

LOL please. Before you embarrass yourself by babbling about a Vanu overpop on Cobalt, do us and yourself a favor and check the population stats for that server. Here is the =Link= for you, so you don't even have to google it.
Overpop restrictions on Cobalt would hurt the NC not the VS. (Although, the times of constant 38% to 40% prime time NC population are over)

(euro)bob - i enjoyed some battles on miller when you was leading some time ago (actually pretty long time ago) - but dont tell him to maintain a kd above 1 when there are a lot of br 100 with a kd below 1 before commenting anything :p
  6. Foxirus

K/D doesn't mean crap. I have seen medics who have pulled the entire fight but don't K/Ds over 1. K/D ration has ZERO relation to skill in planetside 2.

So, looking back at your long career in PS2 how can you have picked such a recent VS Cobad outfit to be the linch pin?!

Surely an oversight! TRID have given far more to the VS cause for all this time :)

Very true ! Trident (TRID) and The Foundation (TFDN) are very large VS outfits on Cobalt who actually know what they're doing. There are also so more specialised outfits like PRSE - much smaller but micro manage the team to reach their objective.

When playing NC on Cobalt, in fairness they are getting better - squad leaders talk and organise - but ultimately just not quite as effective (yet) but they're getting there. However as far as zerg goes, I find the NC way worse - they'll literally send hundreds of people to attack/defend an insignificant base. A few nights ago during an alert on Amerish, we had LOTS of NC at Moss Ravine (and little opposition) - the VS took Crux Mining with no NC opposition whatsoever.

With VS the difference is stark - sometimes hard to keep up with the changes but someone is always looking at the map and they use 'just enough' to either attack / defend to make sure they're most effective.

Anyway I can understand the frustration but it will get better...

    VS and overpop ? o_O
most time i log in NC had a slight overpop but they have low to no coordination between outfits and fight mostly TR ...
  12. Liewec123

server stats take in to account all of the maps, i think the issue that the OP is referring to is that every VS seems to be in a zerg outfit and their entire playerbase just zergs over everything as one multi-outfit purple blob.
theres no skill or tactics involved in that,
and while i do see some zerg outfits on TR and NC (notably KAIN) its nothing compared to TRID, TFDN and all of the smaller outfits that usually tag along for the spawn camp.

note: i've been on cobalt for years (ever since the ceres merge)

Is there a specific time that you come to play PS2? I main TR on Cobalt and yesterday I played at two different times yesterday, 5 PM (on Indar) and then again at 9 PM (on Amerish) GMT. The first time I was at a battle fighting VS at Crossroads Watchtower and Broken Arch Road, the pops were pretty even and despite all our efforts, we'd got overrun due to a nicely placed VS Sunderer with Deploy shield which flanked us, pushed us back to Crossroads and the fight kept going back and forth. The second time there were a lot of TR around to the point where it felt as if TR were the zerg. There were a fair few bases that had 24-48 pop against 1-12 and finding something better involved 96+ TR vs 24-48 NC/VS which wasn't very fun.

For me, when I'm against a specific faction I tend to notice certain things about them. When I fight NC I always notice KAIN or RE4, when fighting VS I always notice TDFN or TRID. It can get annoying when you've spent time with your team really pushing a point when several galaxies fly overheard dumping a huge max crash or spawn loads of tanks but sometimes changing what time you try to play can help. I'll sometimes play around from around 6-9 PM GMT since for me it's when the server starts to get full of things to do.

One thing you could do is see if you can make a couple of in-game friends and join up on doing whatever together. A friend and I play the game together now and then and sometimes when we play, we think up new ways to enjoy the game rather than just go try capturing the point directly. I'll go be Infiltrator, spawn a flash and he'll go Engineer, then we go do Sunderer suicide runs to defend our base, or he'll spawn his Harasser and I'll man the Vulcan, then we'll go vehicle hunting and have a laugh while we're at it. :)

I play as Supoorter (Medic/Engi.) So K/D is not really Indicator for Skill. It Depends what u re doing in Planetside. ;)

And yes Vanus are often Overpopped. But it is Possible to Stop them and even to strike them back.
It depends the expirience of the Platoonlead / Squadlead.
I play Platoonlead too and it is important that your Platoon do what u re saying if they dont follow your orders then kick them from your platoon.
Last Time we Stopped a Whole Tank-zerg with MAXes and a few Tanks only. They Gave up.
Galaxydrops with Medics are also very usefull to cap a Overpopped Base.

I play both TR and NC on Cobalt (they used to be on separate servers until the merge). I've never had issue fighting VS nor, at least from what I've seen, has the average player. There's always plenty of fights going on.

On Miller, I play VS and, having just come from there, right now I can't find a single fight where we aren't outpopped at least 60-40). It all depends on who's getting double-teamed today.

    Also, Eurobob is right.
    • You need a lot more experience before you can expect to take that position without being considered ignorant. A BR15 and a BR25 altogether hardly have enough experience to justify any legitimate concerns (and opinions, being like arseholes, don't count).
    • In addition, without playing in a squad/platoon/outfit, you're not seeing the whole picture, and PS2 isn't designed around lone-wolfs.
    • Finally, while K/D isn't a great measure, even support-oriented characters should be able to pull average (i.e. 1) K/Ds simply because PS2 doesn't have any non-combat characters. Hell... even if you only get one kill every 3 deaths, you can make a K/D of 5 simply by having your team medic pick you up 14 of 15 deaths. Pulling a K/D of <1 means that you are at least in the lower 33rd percentile of players (or thereabouts) - and that comes from a combination of skill, twitch, experience, teamwork etc. - which again indicates a lack of ability to justify a legitimate issue.
I'm afraid that I'm going to call BS on your comments. You don't have the experience to reasonably make them, and they don't agree with my (or many others) real experience.

cool story, tr zerging all the time, they only have problem with reinforcement just because they can't leave their prowlers while spawn room spam.
vanu aces at redeploy. tr aces at zerging hard (not even close to nc). anc nc players think that they joined PRO faction, so they stat-padding their stat without leaving spawn room.
  17. LordMcZee

    Dafuq are you talking about?
  18. PasitheeVS

    @OP

The Foundation? Rules? Are you joking?
  19. ValorousBob

K/D certainly isn't the most important stat (I'd say infantry accuracy is more important), but saying it has ZERO relation to skill in PS2 is utterly ridiculous. The kind of people who think K/D don't matter are the kind of people Connery brought to SS when they got ******* warpgated. I certainly favor a more holistic approach when judging someone's skill, but saying K/D is irrelevant is soooooo incredibly wrong.

Hey thanks man! :D But yes I know there are a lot of BR100 players with K/Ds below 1.0, I would honestly consider most of them to be awful players. Not that I'm a great player or anything, because I'm not.

Thank you, you said what I was trying to get across but in a lot more civilized manner. Will you be my translator for when I'm in a bad mood and post like a dick?
