Was playing Starcraft 2, used the medivac, gave me an idea that you all already know what it is. Two new guns. One can heal/revive 3 players at the same time from a distance, and another turret that can repair up to four different entities at the same time. Medic Gun: Heals/Revives 3 Players simultaneously when holding down the trigger (Like a upgraded medigun) Heals significantly faster than normal medics. Requires a medic to operate the turret. Can Heal/Revive from farther distances than the normal medic tool. Repair Gun: Repairs up to four different entities at the same time when holding down the trigger. Repairs at a significantly faster rate than the normal repair tool. Takes longer to overheat. Requires an engineer to operate the turret. Can repair from farther distances than the normal repair tool. Uses: Maintaining smaller groups of vehicles. Maintaining bases during larger fights. Repair flying vehicles like Galaxies mid flight. Keep smaller groups of infantry alive during special operations. Assisting infantry when fighting armor columns. Gives the Valkyrie a major support role. Anyone like this idea?
I like the sound of this, I already play valk as a support type with the radar. Having more support roles definitely suits it. I honestly wouldn't mind if they took away the area repair abilities of sunderers and gals and added turrets to do the same for ground vehicles. No more unkillable sunderer armies then and you could have cool options like an ambulance harasser or a dedicated repair and healing sunderer.
maybe some sort of 1-shot grenade launcher allowing for : Heal AOE Repair direct hit ? Or even an hybrid offensive/defensive gun which does AOE dot on ennemies and AOE hot for allies ? I don't think Revive AOE / multi-revives would be easy to balance : Which range can you give it without being OP / useless ? How do you manage multiple revives ? Like the idea anyway.
I'd like that, too. So instead of having passive roles, ground vehicles like Sunderers can support units directly.
I kind of assumed the downside to having medigun/toolgun turrets that are more powerful would be that they're turrets strapped to a helicopter, that require the gunner to be a medic or engineer. That would require some team work, but a lot of effort from the pilot in order to not be shot down. Maybe make it so the turret can't heal or repair vehicles when on or too close to the ground? That way the pilot would have to maintain an elevation in order to be effective.
