Thanks for the link. A few things to consider before installing this release.

    1. No reference to this package release has appeared on the NVidia site.
    2. No perceptable performance gains in this release.
    3. It appears on multiple torrent trackers, increasing it's potential for containing malware. Although, none so far have been reported.
  3. MacG32

Sure. Here's what you didn't bother to consider.

    1. Try checking Nvidia developer's website. Oh wait, you need to be a member.
    2. Based on someone's post that is clearly not an expert tester.
    3. It's linked in the original post from a reputable website.

Here's a link to the breaking story from yet another reputable website presenting the link to the original ASUS archive containing the new release and another download link.

Yeah, they are legit. But how are they? Do they help with stability? In other words can you turn on PhysX in Planetside 2 and play the game without it crashing using the new drivers?
  5. MacG32

40+FPS drop using them and still crashing. They're pretty much like the old version. PhysX in this game really needs a lot of serious help and attention for such minor rendering it tries to accomplish...

You know, I remained professional with my post, all I did was inform and caution readers of the risk. No I'm not a Nvidia developer, nor is the related link in the post an expert/professional assesment (they even touch on that lightly in the post). None the less, it was a preliminary assesment (taken with a grain of salt) on the variances of between both packages. Nothing more than being informative...

Installed last night and logged in. Crashed on my first instant action during the loading screen. Logged back in and played for about 40 minutes with no issues.
I'll play some more this evening and see what happens. It would be nice if the game crash would give a bit more detail as to what crashed.....

A bit later: Logged in, crashed to desktop in warpgate. Logged back in, pulled a lighting and crashed to desktop by the bridge at the crater firing range. Turned Physx off and logging back in.

Maybe you guys can figure this out but i have been playing with my new graphics card nvidia gigabyte 660ti oc and have had everything maxed with physix and no issues. I am not using the new driver but the last one 614 i believe not the beta 620. When i used the beta i had constant crashes. I did a clean install and refresh of win 8 and optimized all drives. Dont know if any of that info will help but hope it does. You miss a lot without physix. I am also playing on triple monitor led set up. Theres also this
http://www.geforce.com/drivers/geforce-experience?id=hp-promo that optimizes for your card.

Thanks for the updates on the new drivers. Looks like I'll hold off for now, maybe give it another try after GU9.

Hey guys, any Nvidia or ASUS graphics card users try this to help optimize performance:

I tried this last night and I optimized PS2 and got a great 2 hours of game play in with very smooth performance. I did increase some of the suggested changes and still had no lag issues.

I will try going back to the 3.14 drivers, but first I will try the game after GU9 - the game Physx and APEX files were in the patch. Maybe we will get lucky?
  12. CrimsonFear

As will I, the 320.xx updates crashes me like crazy!
  13. Javik

i'm getting phsyx crashes all the time and I have a titan :(
tried the optimising thingy and still no joy

  14. PsyStorm

    Gonna try the drivers :)

tried the new PhysX driver version aswell + GU9, if PhysX option is enabled, the game still crashes randomly...

too bad, gfx looks so much better when enabled :(
  16. CrimsonFear

If you Sli I recommend you turn it off and dedicate one GPU for PhysX if you really want it, you still crash but not as often. In my experience I crashed every 1 Hr. rather than every 20-30 mins.

Played for an hour last night with Physx on. I backed down to the 314 drivers (of course the official 320s are out now!). FPS was 40 to 60 with lots of activity. Gameplay was smooth and there was no crashes.
I may try the official 320s and maybe see about removing the Physx they install to make sure the 'new' Physx is the one running.
Just did not have more time to play last night.

I also have a GTX Titan and am experiencing random crashes to desktop and really poor performance when Physx is turned on. Sub-15FPS when looking at the elevators at the warpgate.
