Upcoming Tank and Liberator Changes

    Balance or not, being able to reverse at the same speed as going forward is more arcade, less sim. It cheapens the entire experience.

    They are supposed to be Ground pounders, bombers, AC-130s.

    Not flying fortresses of death.

    Liberators were nerfed in the past because people were TOO good at farming infantry with them, Also combined with the nanoweave armor change.


    If you look back at liberator development...... they were once really to good, then they were not and then now they are once again to powerful.



    SOE's patchnotes honestly will put the liberator in the "just right" position they they have been finally been looking for.

    I know thinking and critically breaking down information is hard when your favorite Farming simulator level is getting changed but cmon now.

    Tank reverse speed and acceleration will be made identical to the tanks forward speed and acceleration.

    Indirect Magrider nerf, but also a direct buff. Consider what this allows the Magrider to do... full speed movement forward and backward combined with strafing.

    Also, MBTs are getting their effective range reduced. This hurts the Vanguard and Prowler more.

    Yeah arcade battlefield tanks do have pathetic range, and pathetic optics. What's the matter, does the average gamer lack 2D depth perception or something?

    Risk vs reward now? That sounds a lot like heavy assault rockets should start costing infantry resources.

    Havn't played for a month but I might get back into it to test this patch out. I'm just voicing what I think and will reserve any judgement for when this patch comes out.

    @ Reversal speeds: How will this interact with the current performance chassis? Rival increases reverse speed so now will my prowler drive faster backwards than it does forwards? Will there be a change to chassis?
    @ Gravity and velocity loss over distance: Will this effect the magrider? Will this be the magrider's pro versus giving the PC/FPC/VPC no-drop?

    @ Liberator effective ranges being reduced: I can see where you're going with it and kind of agree but that's not how I would have went about it.
    @ Bellygun roles: I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR SO LONG. Don't really agree with the zephr statement though. Feels like you're trying to shoe horn the duster a role instead of it having a more natural role.
    @ Noseguns: Kind of agree and disagree with Wycleff. TB was only pulled mostly because of the lack of synergy with the liberator's functionality. Lib Noseguns need to be rethought across the board I think. Vektor and Spur for sure. You seem absolutely concrete on the vektor not getting free-look and instead made a castrated free-look vektor. The community gave you a good suggestion for creating a choice for noseguns.
    @ Bulldog: I'd say increase drop but do not decrease velocity. Whenever i'm on the M60-A I generally dont need to adjust for drop. That said, back in beta when they had M60-G stats they were impossible to hit anything with outside of 100m.

    @Air Hammer: ......really? I mean, I don't use it often and am terrible with it but I didn't really think that was the problem with it.

    Overall, really interested in playing this patch to see if it rekindles the fire. The white is more so curiosity or things i'm not too sure of.

    I am passing judgement. Until you show an account that looks even remotely like a pilot you should not be telling people to learn to play because they think the nerfs are too extreme.

    Depending on how these changes go through, this game probably lost a loyal subscriber...Not at ALL a fan of the liberator changes. All that was needed was an audio change and reverting of the dumbfire/tank resist values, not the elimination of an entire playstyle. I'll be watching these changes very closely.

    Can you at least tell us by how much you are planning to nerf the belly guns proyectile velocity? 10%? 50%? How about the Tank Buster nerf?

    what if I told you a liberator pilot with good control knows when to engage and when not to?


    As a the pilot its your job to make shure the gunner can do the damage and to also get out safely for repairs etc.


    you don't have to be a active killer to be a good liberator driver.

    Tell that to all the HE equipped anchored Prowlers I've died to. Now Vanguards, there's another story. I died to a HE Vanguard the other day and I was literally like :eek:

    the play style won't be eliminated, but the Role( a ground pounding gunship) will be strengthened.


    and Ingame wise these changes actually work out really well, people are over freaking about them, but thats only natural on forumside & reddit side.

    Yes *rubs hands* tank range reduced to infantry render distance. Now instead of hunting tanks I'll have no choice but to farm infantry instead.
