Upcoming Tank and Liberator Changes

    As a lib pilot - i say doesn't matter. SOE still can't figure out how their game runs. So yes, libs will be nerfed to ****, big deal. All the people who used them before heavily will just go next best thing (Gal- dual buldogs, armor/repair, racer frame). We will still farm everything and everyone. You will nerf the gals... and we will just use something else. SOE will always be a step behind.

    If we discover that new tank setup is good for farming, we will just use that. All of this reactionary nerfing is stupid by definition.

    Not against enemy MBTs that know what they are doing.

    Uh, no, they just end up in situations where every every advantage you listed becomes useless. Most tank battles happen within 120m so any maneuverability goes right out the window. You cannot beat the higher dps of the prowler and shield of the vanguard in that range.

    THIS^, this right here is the reason I think that SOE simply doesnt care. Not only does the dev say we read a whole lot of how the gun is not overpowered and that the other guns were underpowered. Their response, no no, were gonna kneecap it so that the other guns dont look so bad in comparison (probably because its easier for them to nerf one weapon then it is for us to fix the other 2 to 3), that right there is what that whole statement comes down to. They contradict themselves by saying were getting alot of feedback telling them its not op, then they go back and say our numbers (and other feedback) is telling us its op. Hint if people are telling you its not op despite the numbers then listen to them, or better yet, dont balance a game on statistics and actually play in a lib for 5 hours straight and tell me if you feel the tank buster is OP. Then I read about 5-6 pages of this thread, with opinions on what your doing to the tank shell velocity/adding gravity and I read (and know from personal experience) that adding even more drop to tank weapons is a bad idea. Ive read opinions from the likes of Alarox and Klypto, people who have more experience in a tank than 99.99 percent of people in this game, this is fact, you can look at the amount of time they've played in their tanks. Why is it that SOE doesnt go straight to these types of people and ask them if they feel if anything is wrong in terms of tanks? do they feel overpowered or underpowered in some areas? and go from there.... Do they listen, do they care to the people who put the most time into this game? the only answer I can come up with is no they dont, because they listen to their 'statistics' which no offense SOE, but statistics give someone only half the story. It just gives you the numbers, it doesnt say WHY?!? these numbers are the way they are.

    I honestly hate that the first response to every problem in this game is to nerf it. Were getting to the point where just about every fun thing to do in this game has been or is currently nerfed. Whereas, why dont we buff everything to match the overpowered state of other weapons. Case in point people are all saying the PPA is probably next to be nerfed, I feel its pretty balanced, its not one shotting infantry, the magrider has to give up extra AV capabililty to use it, and the harasser is still fairly squishy so that they wont be able to just sit and farm with it. I say the gun does its job, it kills infantry at a fairly effective rate, why are we nerfing something thats doing its intended role, because the infantry are b(tching? heres a tip, dont run in front of that bad boy, or fire a rocket at it. Instead, why dont we just buff the other weapons so that they are comparible in performance to the PPA? From what I here, people have complained about the extremely mechanics and design of the cannister from day 1. I could go on for hours but honestly I already know that SOE will implement whatever the hell it feels like regardless of what people (who REALLY DO CARE) tell them or how it effects the overall game.
    Just letting you know now that I can already tell you how tanks will be effected by this patch... Theyre gonna blow up more, because now they have to get closer meaning closer to people with lockons and c-4 if they want to hit infantry, or closer to other tanks to get good shots putting themselves even more in harms way. Whereas anything with better accuracy at range is going to eat them alive, ie harassers..... wow, sounds like fun to me. If your anybody not in a tank that is......

    I can agree that this shouldn't happen, although the turrets are free and can kinda be "revived"...

    The thing is can you just stop posting now, it's getting quite annoying. You're not doing anything constructive just bashing everyone that doesn't agree. And further seem to be kinda clueless, please stop cluttering.

    I can see why the Vanu are upset, however, the TR are also getting shafted in this change! We have the only tank ability (lockdown) that has NO synergy with the new tank roles "hit and run". Furthermore, as the overall cannon velocity is being reduced this means lockdown itself is getting an indirect nerf, as it builds upon the already existing velocity stats.

    The only tank that's not getting buggered by a pineapple with these changes are the NC.

    Gals aren't nearly as agile and powerful as Liberators. Yes, they can lay down some serious hurt and ram stuff. Do they have the combination of toughness, speed, agility and firepower that makes Liberator way out of line? Higby no.

    I call it a nerf to the magrider because the other two tanks are getting magrider traits meanwhile the magrider is not getting more armor, more DPS, a higher ROF, more damage, etc. WE GET NOTHING! It's better at killing friendly infantry than enemy infantry, it dies more to the environment than anything else except C4, etc.
    It gives the last two advantages of the magrider: stability, and maneuverability. The prowler and vanguard already have a = to or higher top speed than the mag, with the van having more armor.
    How is slowing down the already slowest tank round a "buff"?
    The lib nerfs are overkill, they should just go back to what they were before the last lib update rather than making them worse than before the update. At least they nerfed lolpods.

    It dies more to the environment because it can do things that others tanks can't dream. At cost of the risk of messing up and dying in the process.EG: Jumping over the shields of some bases.

    It gives one advantage. The stability.

    The reversal speed buff will help the 3 tanks. Because till now the magrider ALSO had slower reversal speed than forward speed.

    The magrider will still being the only tank that is unpredictible. The others 2 will still going only forward and backwards.

    They aren't going to slow down the mag, they are going to slow down the shells of the others tanks.
    That's why i said that was too early to assume a magrider nerf.


    You guys get the the reversal speed buff. For free.

    The Vanguard gets the reversal speed buff at the price of slower rounds. And to make use of it he needs to give up on his 15% damage reduction IN THE FRONT of the tank. (magrider has the same armor of the prowler)

    The prowler gets the turret stabilization and the speed buff at the price of his anchored mode. If he is anchored the turret stabilization and reversal speed buff means nothing. AND shells speed.

    IF a tank is actually winning anything in this patch/change/theorycrafting. It would be the Magrider.

    Does adding 1 gravity and going from 4 to 5 equal a 25% increase in drop?

    Please no.

    PS:Considering velocity changes scale the gravity ones, what should we prepare for? 30%+ more drop? :(

    it doesnt change what i said, just give a lore based reason, such as the destruction of the high percision machines by the NC or something like that and ill be happy. but changing it and then not giving it reason is kinda lame

    Better tank battles? How about the people who fly libs. No sympathy for them? It takes skill to effectively use a lib, and you are supporting an update that makes libs useless, almost as useless as they are now in big fights, totally incapable of being used, just like harassers.

    No because all lib pilots have the 2nd most tank experience than anyone except for those who only play tank. Every lib pilot I know including my self were tank masters. Libs were barely a threat to me since I knew where to go, not to go, and what to equip for the fight. We can break this topic into this.

    *Please help me, I am trying to solo tank into enemy territory without friendlies and am being killed by libs. They are op. Nerf please.

    Lets see, increased mobility of tanks, tankbuster damage reduced, (tankbusting a skygaurd or even trying to kill one puts you at the risk of being hit by a Tank Round) oh yah and tank rounds now do more damage. PLUS the sound of lib is increased making it even HARDER to go unnoticed by the skyguard or whatever else is sitting around it.
