this post is in regards to the NC faction the only players that really use this faction are those new to the game or those with so much real money into the faction changing would be hard to justify. there claim is high powered weapons but there weapons are pretty much the same as other factions they dont hit hard enough for it to be a factor and the damage falls of at range so that they are just like the other two factions damage wise at 75+ meters but they dont have the rate of fire to keep up and that means anybody new or with lil to no money spent on NC are just making a new player with TR or VS. Take the jackhammer for example it is supposed to be the NC heavy assault big gun but compared to TR or VS it lacks tremendously no way it is good for crowd control it doesnt hit hard and has the same magazine size as any other shotgun its really a nitch weapon where as the TR mini gun is a heavy assault gun ment for dealling max damage to large amounts of people . with no real option for the NC its pretty much up to engineers to put up turrets to help ward of large zergs but turrets are slow and easy to counter as soon as it hits the ground everybody knows where it is, so they are pretty easy to avoid the NC only other option is for the em1 but thats pretty much just the TR starting heavy assault weapon. the NC are filled with weapons that leave a lot to be desired and that is forcing players to migrate to other factions. To help fix this there damage needs to be upped and they have to hold that kind of damage at range reduce the rate of fire more idc but when the NC hits somethiing it should know it. at the moment on average there is 24 points of damage within 75 meters and 18 points beyond 75+ meters this hardly makes up for the 98 more rounds per minute on the higher rate of fire rifles ( NC, EM1 vs TR, T9 CARV ) and when compared to the slow rate of fire guns 57 damage within 75 meters and 42 beyond 75+ meters ( NC, NC6 GAUSS SAW vs TR T9 CARV-S ) combined with the theory that if it hits harder it recoils more means NC weapons kick like a mule and TR and VS are point and spray means NC are in a hole and not the good foxhole kind for cover its the kind with a stone at one end that says something nice about you even if theres nothing nice to say. i own multiple firearms in the real world i have a class 3 firearms permit and i can tell you that hard hitting guns and high rate or fire guns are equally hard to control if anything the high rate of fire weapons are harder to control i used to have an RPD ( the russian version of the U.S.A. S.A.W. M249 ) chambered for 7.62x39 and it was easier to handle then my SCAR 17 with a 100 round magazine mostly dew to the weight weapons that fire large calibers are normally heavier and the weight helps fight recoil where as with lighter polymer weapons that fire smaller high velocity rounds it is up to the shooter to mange recoil which is why the U.S.A. has made the burst fire and semi auto modes the predominant fire control systems very rare is it for them they go all rambo and full auto everything in site. and that leads me to my next point there is only one NC rifle with select fire the VS have hover craft and lasers but we dont have technology that has been common place since 1950 it would help wrestle the kicking bulls they call rifles that NC have 3 round burst would help alot the most at mid to long ranges where higher powered rifles should have the advantage. if you read all this thank you for your time........Good Lucky and Happy Hunting
Formatted it. The **** I do for you ungrateful bastards. TL;DR Game with floating tanks and planes that fly backwards is unrealistic in the recoil department. Also OP owns a machine gun (lol wut).
I think this is what you meant to say: Edit: Looks like someone else beat me to it. Now everybody gets to read it twice and decide who did a better job.
I just...... This post...... Who said ESHW were supposed to be crowd control? And if you are looking for crowd control why is OP completely glossing over the God SAW? a 100 round gun at 200 damage. That has more crowd control ability than the MCG and thats at 2000 dps on top of that. Its the ULTIMATE crowd control weapon, its a tier 3 gun and its FREE. We have to spend 1000 certs for our 'crowd control' weapons (since thats what we are calling ESHW all of a sudden) NC has the largest diversity in their arsenal of ANY faction. You have 200 damage guns, 167 damage guns and 143 damage guns. You also have the GD-7F a complete rip off of TR traits and insanely better bullet velocity than the serpent. And how is being the only guys with 200 damage guns NOT powerful enough? NC migrating to other factions? Idk about you but across all servers NC has the highest average pop. On Briggs its even worse, NC reaches up to 50% of the world pop on a regular basis. VS and TR sometimes literally team up to make sure NC doesnt get dominating on alerts. The part about realism and the fact you own a REAL LIFE GUN (woah!) -_- isnt even worth discussing and does not make you knowledgeable about guns from the 29th century.
What happened to the OP; -Changed the color of his Gluteus Maximums to a deep shade of red. -Made him fill out this form -Rhymes with "Trekked"
faction whining is a L2P issue. Also you are allowed to have more than one character. in fact I encourage you to have one of each faction whether you are just starting or if you're already three months into your first character. When I first started I only had my TR character and for the first 3 months I sincerely believed that the TR was severely underpowered and unappreciated especially since we were underpop most of the time on Connery back then. Then I made alts on the other 2 factions (on different servers but you dont have to) and after playin all three sides I concluded that the factions may not be completely balanced overall but all have advantages and disadvantages that complement and handicap certain play styles.one faction will always have disadvantages when compared to either of the other sides but none of the three are really above the other two, there is no one OP faction or one weak *** faction. This is the MMO portion of the game and why most players become geeks to weapon and vehicle stats... So we can make better informed decisions where to spend certs to improve effectiveness that suits our individual playstyles. We adjust to the handicaps and difficulties and focus on maximizing whatever advantages and strengths are available to your faction. l2p
sweet jesus .. just woke up and this was the 2nd thread i looked at and nearly had a f'in stroke looking at that 6x9 wall of whiteness...
Don't bother reading that ^^ Read one of the "translations" If this was a real war Vanu's OPness would be off the charts and NC would be pretty crap since most of their weapons are scavenged, stolen, or from corporate backers. AS NC try not to get in CQC with the TR, VS is fine. Always try to get the first shot off, as NC weapons do much more damage per bullet (just look at the stats) There is such thing as countering recoil in this game. The Planetside 2 Tutorial Title "Weapons Instruction contains a good example w/ and NC weapon.
There is some truth to what you are saying Op, but I do think that the NC weapons are much better tuned now (except for Jackhammer which is total garbage) than in earlier times of PS2. I notice now that much of the recoil seems to have been dialed back, and there are a variety of NC weapons that will fit the situation. After trying the TR and VS weapons any NC player will experience that WTF moment where you wonder why the devs could make such an error in handicapping the learning curve so much for one of three factions. As an experienced NC player I actually embrace the high damage part of our weapons now, but it does get old when TR and VS bullseye you with infallible fire while moving at 100 yds with a carbine. I watched Future Crew play when I was at SOE Live last year, and I noticed that they would take and make shots that no NC weapon could handle at that time. Reflex sights on a deflection shot from low ground at approx. 80 yds and land the whole burst. I know those are expert expert players, but the reflex built into any NC player from watching that setup is "don't even shoot, you will miss." Recoil and CoF make medium range shots hard to pull off, so beginning players will quickly learn that if they see an enemy front on beyond 35 ft. the chance is good they will die. The result is a frustration threshold that is compounded by the fact that headshots are king. I think that the game is moving ever more in a balanced direction concerning the functionality of NC weapons though.
