Well met soldier! You are currently viewing the recruitment thread for the Incursion of the Flawed outfit. We're glad you stopped by, and hope you find us intriguing enough to keep reading.

    About us:

Incursion of the Flawed sports the tag [FLWD]. We are happily referred to as "Flawed" for short. Running on the Emerald Server, we loyally fight for the Terran Republic in hopes to quell the New Conglomerate rebellion and to tave off the violent assimilation attempts of the Vanu Sovereignty. We include a vast range of players from various backgrounds, playstyles, Battle Ranks, and skill levels. It may sound hodgepodge, but we have good reasons for it. But before spending too much of your time reading the fine details, ask yourself if you want to be a part of an outfit that:
    A) Offers a fairly easygoing and lighthearted environment?
    B) Helps you hone your skills?
    C) Remains effective and competitive without confusing tactics and absurd restrictions?
    and
    D) Lets you make good buddies and even life time friends?

Then keep reading because Flawed is likely for you!

    How We Roll:

    TMG-50 > Vulcan!
When running single squads, we play with a variety of toys from Liberators, Prowlers, and even Harassers. However, when we run Outfit Ops with a full platoon we don't use vehicles. We are an Infantry outfit through and through, and we like let that specialization shine. We will still use Valkyries, Sunderers, and sometimes even Galaxies, but that's about it.

    Tactics Can be Simple!
We follow a system based on real life U.S. Army infantry squads that has been adapted for Planetside 2. We call it "R.A.S.S.T.". The system divides up the platoon into groups that have specific, consistent jobs. This means that you know what to do long before you reach the target base. This also means you won't have someone barking overly complicated orders in your ears. The platoon leader will tell everyone where to go, and may prioritize objectives for squad leaders. Then the squad leader tells you where to go. That's it. We don't care about much so long as you're working on the objective and supporting your team. Want to be a MAX? Go right ahead. Rather patrol the building as an Infiltrator? No one will tell you "no". We give you freedom in your class choice, just as it should be. We only ask that you use this freedom responsibly and with discretion. Already have two MAX units? Maybe pull your's later. Notice that you don't have many medics? Switching would probably help a lot! Your squad leader will never tell you that you have to switch classes. But he or she may suggest or request a change, and we encourage our members to help out that way.

    No KDR? No Problem!
In Flawed, we don't really care about your BR, KDR, or any of that. Since we operate as a team, we care more that you are willing to contribute and work together. We do require a very basic skill level, but it's a pretty low bar. Established players will usually get in off of their Players profile and a quick interview alone. New players or those with mediocre profiles need a quick interview and screening in VR, but its really gentle. We do have a fairly strict rule on Teamkilling, and unfortunately have to reject players who have a lot of these. But don't worry! No rejection if final, and players who are can work on their skills and try again. Go ahead and send a application via the Outfit Recruitment page in-game.

    Free, Innovative Comms
We use a nifty, free program for our comms during platoon sessions, and it's by the same guys that handle the VoIP for Planetside 2! That's right, Vivox! They have a wonderful new VoIP client in the works that's designed specifically for gamers! It's called C3, and though it's still in development it works pretty darn well. This brings us to our Comms Policy:
-Mic is strongly recommended but is only required for Leaders.
-C3 is used for socializing and official Platoon Ops. This will be described in detail below.
-Socializing is great! But please be responsible and use discretion. Some players may be trying to focus on the game.
-Players without a mic should use /s in game to communicate.

    C3:

We have a some private channels on C3 just for members of Flawed. The Main Channel can be used for socializing in and out of game. Think of it as a hangout for all Flawed members to shoot the bull. There are also five sub-channels. Four are used by the different platoon elements, and the final "Leader" channel is reserved exclusively for acting platoon and squad leaders. This keeps idle chit-chat from interfering with planning and coordination.

    Other Rules:

Finally, we ask that our members follow these simple rules:
-No Teamkilling. If someone is repeatedly killing or injuring you, inform your squad leader in a PM and report the player. If any member is intentionally killing friendlies, they will be banned.
-Follow the SOE Code of Conduct. Anybody who is cheating, using hate speech, or violating any other of the community guidelines will be banned.
-Don't be disruptive. This includes spamming VoIP channels or talking way too much. We can't stress the "way" enough. We love to have our members get along, but there is certainly a point where it is too much. Long, detailed conversations should be done in private channels or even the FLWD main C3 channel. Disruptive will receive warnings and in extreme cases may be pulled aside by a Leader to discuss the issue.
-Act Honorably. A little smack talk can be okay, as long as it's friendly. You know where that line is, and crossing it won't be tolerated. In addition, don't do anything that can blemish the [FLWD] tag, both in and out of game. Any member who does something particularly unsavory will be banned.

All bans are permanent! It's very hard to get kicked out, but if you do, Fin.

Any questions can be directed to an Outfit leader.

That's all folks! We won't be running Platoon Ops for a while, since we need more members. But we will still run small casual squads, both infantry and vehicle based.

Are you an outfit leader? Want to run Joint Ops? PM SolemnSeraph in game to discuss details!
