Did SOE ever come up with a better solution? This wopulnt be a bad cert if you could modify it so that when its upgraded a medic becomes a PBAOE tic of health as his passive ability. I have noticed this when I "actively" heal myself in a jam that everyone around me gets healed too but I havent noticed it on a passive level or maybe its an idea even worth considering to CERT into for a larger health tic.
Your Healing Aura already performs this function (as well as healing yourself). Yes you have to activate it and it has a duration like all Abilities. Triage performs it in an unlimited fashion while in a vehicle where you can't activate the above. If the healing aura was passive and active all the time it would probably be a bit too good, especially with teams of Medics.
Ultimately Triage feels largely useless, since most people in a vehicle are already at full health. If I'm wounded in an assault, I always swap out to CM or a class with a restoration kit, heal up, then head out to jump in a Gal.... and I'm usually doing that process while the base is finishing the cap process. It could use a retooling. Perhaps Triage should provide functionality more appropriate to it's name; Allow it to actively show green/yellow/red health bars on the UI of friendly soldiers. Or, to avoid additional screen clutter, make it a deployable healing beacon instead, with proximity restrictions (similar to sunderer deploy), that actively targets the most wounded soldiers first.
Or, have Triage allow your healing aura to work on nearby troops, while you are in a vehicle. Still have to activate it, perhaps not working if you're the driver (as other abilities may conflict with the key press), this might make it actualy useful.
I think this would be a good use. Might be interesting to have it be eventually changed to further augment other medic abilities. Such as a deployed Sunderer belonging to the medic healing allies that go back to rearm and resupply. Or if they eventually add a device the medic can deploy at choke points for passive constant healing, it could provide faster healing to more damaged allies. But thats a whole other subject.
Triage is basically useless at the moment. Don't waste certs on it. The only thing it is good for is slowly healing MAX's in your sunderer. Even then, an engineer does a better job.
I really do think they should just replace Triage altogether. Also, I am noticing I only get between 80-120 xp per revive with my meditool 6. It used to be you got 100 xp for a kill, and another 10 for a headshot kill. Now with the potential of getting +300 xp for a menace kill, I think it's time the meditool give more xp.
Keep in mind that anyone, including the medic, can get that +300XP extreme menace kill so it's not like they buffed the XP gain rate only for the other classes. The med tool is fine.
simple AOE for triage would suffice, so when i'm manning the sundy guns defending the squad/platoon, i'm healing those around the vehicle. nobody goes into a sundy to get healed!! would be nice to put a + symbol on the vehicle too, so everyone knows the doctor is in the truck and seeing patients!!
Once upon a time I wanted triage changed also, but a door just creaked open on test. Harassers will be the first real solid use of triage. Wraiths are too valuable as a infil ha/eng combo to have a medic involved If SOE ever has more "open" vehicles triage will be a must have. Yes, often a harasser will be sporting a max, but I firmly believe, unless they do some major changes on test, that the harasser will be a significant game changer for troop movement and vehicle combat. It's going to sport more firepower than any ground vehicle, and out maneuver a wraith even. Also they can take an impressive beating at the moment.
A deployable beacon. Interact to get full health. Limited duration/uses (improved with certs). Just a thought, could be tweaked in many ways, Replacement for triage or just an extra tool (utility slot perhaps?). Well anyways just throwing it out there. o/
Give Triage an Area of Effect, like a repair sundy but for humans. Only works if Medic is in Sunderer (elsewise bands of roving medic flashes could keep a team up for a hilarious amount of time)
