alright so with the triple SC I thought about investing a little in the game ... but I find TR max kind of terrible as the basic one ... I want mine to get a little better .. what weapon should I go with ? I just want to hear people thought about any set up anti infantry or anti vehicle or anti air ... anything I just want opinion search fonction didnt help much ... also sorry for my english
Might as well pick up a second burster for anti-air. A second grenade launcher may be useful but in my experiences, Max's drop too quickly to tanks to be much of an anti-vehicle threat. As to the miniguns, I picked up a second heavy cycler. I don't think there's a huge difference with the miniguns seeing as how you pretty much will shred anyone who walks in front of you with two of them.
ok but for exemple ... what about the mc3 mercy ?? they say it is better at range on the description .. but the magazine is only 50 bullet
Well, you're not going to be using your Max's miniguns in ranged fights. Max's aren't great at range and unless you have support, you'll probably be picked apart.
I used the aptly named twin Mercy's for AI..... mercy by name not so much by nature deffo pick up a twin burster for your other load out, as for the dual pounders don't even bother you'd just be free XP for vehicles
If you get burster and mercys, the magazine increase perks are kinda necessary. I would recommend only buying an additional Mercy for the time being as they do not accrue medals, but default heavy cycler does (I've missed out on 200 certs worth of AI kills (over 1000 kills with each arm) due to this oversight by SOE). Burster more than anything else benefits from magazine boost. I love running out and chasing lightnings in busy fights, with AV, I guess because they still underestimate what close range damage can do from a MAX. Pretty useless against anything else unless you have an engi and good cover. Also does decent direct damage to air, including liberators, but we're talking spitting distance. I enjoy all MAX variants, but Mercys are where its at if you only buy one setup.
Yeah, they really are superb, best accuracy of the bunch. I've tried double heavy cyclers and also tried a couple of Onslaughts lately. Nothing compares to the Mercy. Aim for the heads of enemy MAXs at midrange and you're almost as effective as NC splattermaxes at close range. Beastly AI, exactly what they should be.
According to this MAX AI data sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Amnj8jnZLDIOdEx6azNNdVozRmxLVkI2WnZmS2NqV1E&output=html the cycler and the mercies are almost identical...so is it really worth buying 2 mercies as opposed to buying just 1 cycler? To me it doesn't seem worth the SC/certs because the difference is very minor. Or is there something I don't know about mercies?
Mercy's higher accuracy puts it well ahead of all other cyclers at medium range. It is a straight upgrade from the default cycler so it is well worth the investment. I don't think there is a single TR MAX out there who has regretted choosing the Mercy over the alternatives.
This was exactly i wanted to find...Thanks. I always see NC MAX double Shotguns but as TR it sucks...i only use it for AA. ill wait a few days to see if mercy goes on sale...or ill just buy them later
From an NC stand point, get the mercys. They are stupid OP right now. Cant begin to count the number of times I have been sniped by dual-mercy maxes as a HA. And in medium range engagements, the mercy's will stomp anything else on the battlefield. And anyone who says NC max's are OP...I call BS. Ya at 10 meters or less we can instant kill maybe 1 or 2, 3 people at most before we need to reload. But ANY chaingun max, cycler included can get 5-6+ kills before reloading from ranges that our shotgun maxes can not even touch.
Wait, so insta-gibbing 3 infantry without them standing a chance isn't OP, but killing 5 infantry that can easily take the TTK for all 5 and gun him down is? I think your bias is showing.
Anything beyond 10 ft the NC max is useless at best it's the most situational of the three. A dual mercy TR max can shred infantry in close and out at longer ranges. The purple pew pew max is also much more versatile. I tend to see a f-ton of TR maxes, a decent number of VS maxes, and a handful of NC maxes.
Dont give me that BS. Everyone knows(and many TR admit to it in game) can own 5-6+ infantry without having to reload, and can do it with relative safety, especially when they have an engineer hiding near them. The thought of killing even 3 infantry with NC maxes is insane before needing to reload, and you have to constantly move to keep infantry in range the thought of an engineer trying to keep you healed is absurd. Ya at less then 10 meters we can hold our own, but I have seen dual cyclers and mercys run into a small tiny room and just lay waste to everyone inside without having to reload, where it would take 3-4 reloads for an NC max to do the same thing. Stop ******* protecting your OP max. You know its OP, NC no its OP, and most TR admit that its OP. You never see 10+ max defense/rushes with NC like you do with TR, because if 10 people pulled Maxes, we would just get owned while your long range mercys or HA's just pulverized us.
Cosmos is the best AI weapon, Mercy after that. Hacksaw is superior up close, but worthless at any kind of distance. If you ask me, all the AI max weapons should be replaced by Cosmos and Mercy (or at least the stats of these weapons), and then all 3 factions should be given some true variety in MAX weapons (i.e. explosive rounds, shotgun type weapons, flame throwers, mini rocket pod spam, etc.)
I use dual Ponder for supporting the Infantry at Locations where indirect Fire is usefull. Its awesome Range can give you an nice Boni too. Its small Explosions and Smoke can also be usefully sometimes, for some psychological effects.
I like the way you call BS, then pile even more manure on top of it TR max is good for medium to close range engagements, the NC max is a beast now in close confines but give them slug ammo and they can now put up a fight at medium range, I don't know where you are looking in battles but I see loads of both TR and NC maxes in fights. I do see 10+ NC max crashes it's just situational. Biolabs and techplants are the places to find them. The only time you see max's lay waste to places is because yes they burst into a room and caught the defenders unaware, would it suprise you that I've seen NC max's do the same because *shock N horror* they knew what they were doing. I've also seen plenty other times when a max has stormed a room just to find some level headed defenders whip him like a child becuase they kept their cool and riddled them with bullets and explosives. Max's ain't the boogey men they were in PS1
