TR HA Weapon choice

Hi all. I`d like to buy a gun for my tr ha and I need some help. I saw LMG discussion threads here, I also compared their stats and i dont see mutch difference there. People keep saying "this is better for close combat, this is better for range", but the game is a total war, how do you know what waits you in next 5 minutes? Is it worth buyng any gun that is specialized in something?

I`m also thinking on buying T7 (chaingun). I tried it on trial and is seemed devastating. Is it OK to have T7 for indoor or near-building combat and some long-range LMG with x4 or x6 scope for open-air?

    Any other suggestions and tips?

Thank you for replys, sorry for my bad english =).

I'd like to know the same as well! I just started playing a couple days ago.

It's a difficult decision. The CARV got a nerf recently but the ROF is what gives us an advantage, the recoil and ADS is bad though now. The other weapons are sidegrades (slightly less this, slightly more that), so you have to figure out what stat you want more.

I know you checked out the stats: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...LMG&sortcolid=-1&sortasc=true&rowsperpage=250

But really, you have to decide, say is the TMG-50's higher damage more worth it for you? You loose ROF though The T16 is like the CARV but you loose rate of fire but gain more attachments, faster reload and more projectile speed. You can go for CQB with the MSW-R, you get slightly less ADS, faster reload and access to Advance Laser. The T32 Bull loses ROF and some ammo per magazine but you gain some accuracy because it has a smaller cone of fire. Some have more attachments than others as well.

Basically they're all like that. There's no TOP gun. Just specialization after you figure out what you do and don't like from the default.

And any oppinion on T7? I am really interested in it, but i kinda failed its trial. Is it so hard to learn how to use it? Is setup time worth its dmg?

All the issues that people complain about with the T7 are because they want to use it like an LMG/AR. It's a situational weapon; great for Bio-Lab & big base fights; clearing rooms. You have to know how to start it up before you enter a room. It works great if you have your shields, etc set up too. You also use it as an area denial weapon. Shoot through doorways/entrences, don't let enemy come in; make the waste time. It's a great support weapon. But it will NOT work out for you if you use it just like you do your CARV, etc.

I Agree with Eagle, you need to know when to start rolling the chain gun but once you get use to it, its great. It really isn't as bad as people make it out to be for 100 - 200m shots, the bullet spread is very minimal once you burst shoot(again you need to get use to it for it to be effective this way). I've raked in 80 kills in an hour all 100m+ while attacking an outpost.

I'll try and answer you question the best I can with the information you provided. At level 15 (I think) you get three base loadouts for each class. I would suggest filling two of those slots with a primary LMG that you like for most situations. Make one slot a daytime loadout and one for night(IRNV sight). I prefer the T32 at the moment but this is a matter of personal preference. For the third slot I reccomend you use this as your CQC/Biolab setup. The Chaingun/MSW-R/Shotgun are viable choices for this slot as you will use it less oftten than the "general purpose" loadout unless you actively hunt CQC infantry fights. As this is a matter of opinion and your playstyle may differ greatly from mine I herby post this disclaimer. YMMV

Ok, I`ve bought T7 and really liked it, now its possible to break into the room and take down 2 or even 3 targets very easily. Btw, what upgrade you use for it, laser or magazine? It seems that laser is a must, because of low accuracy, but is 100 bullets enuogth? I hate dying while I reload.

As for LMG, i`ll get something for medium-long range combat later.

Thank you all for your advises, really helpfull.

I've been using the T7 since Beta and I love this gun. It was my first purchase with SC and both LMGs have sat on the shelf, untouched since release. It is IMHO the weapon that exemplifies the TR pholosophy of "more dakka". I use the extended mag which splits your ammo 200/200. This lets you continue to throw lead in situations where an LMG would have had you reloading at least twice. The spin up, once gotten used to, can save you much grief upon being suprised by friendlies as it gives you a second to pull your finger off the trigger. I come into firefights knowing i'm not going to land the first bullet but i WILL land the last. Enjoy your purchase and may your rounds always find their marks.

Your basic Carv-9 is imo is the best LMG for TR. I use the basic Carv-9 over my fully upgraded Carv-9 S.

    Ideal Options for the Carv-9:

Scopes: Night Vision, Reflex and 3.4x Chevron
    Rail: foregrip / laser

As to the T-7, as it was already stated its good in Bio-lab and used to be good in Tech Plant, it is also good for squad play for laying down the suppression fire for your team to advance. Extended Mag is the way to go with 200 rounds, again this weapon is situational for solo play and good in team play for tight areas with cover.

Carv family was at at good spot before the patch, good but not the mythical-all-killing Lmg the NC and VS (*cough* Orion) thought it would be. After the patch the horizontal recoil was increased by whooping 12.5%. It was ok at medium/long range before the patch, but with horizontal recoil increase now its extremly difficult, even with a foregrip to hit targets.

Now its still decent at CQC and ok at medium range, but the lack of attachments (no compensater, no special ammo) makes it now worse than average.

But without the high ROF of the Carv TR HAs are now at a disadvantage against high ROF VS and medium ROF, high damage NC HAs. Some TR HAs try to specialice in medium/long range and use the T16/T50 but will lose in CQC, others use the Carv and MSW-R for CQC, but lose in long range fights. Right now we have no good allround Lmg like the Orion anymore.

T50 for long distances and MSW-R for close combat.
  13. TheBloodEagle

Like I said, TR LMG have no advantage really (more noticeable now). The whole Faction specific trait went out the window for us.
  14. skull4squadron

    yup i agree with this.
I went from bad to worse after patch :(

OMG.. thanks for posting this.. I've been curious about a lot of this and now I have a way to comparison shop the way I normally do, with over the top data ;).
