WOW man just wow ... Look at most forums and even play station forums look at my youtube chanel or my 2 steam groups , and call me lazy to promote this game

iam on it , everyday ... even trying to get some console hardcore friends to get their *** on PC to play this game ... I recruits over 80 to 100 peoples and make over 500 + peoples get interested in it ... as well as Playstations players ...

I always doing my job at promoting this game and i havent ask for any reward

But this time its , restricting me and forcing me into a awefull process for a DAY one players who already invite the most peoples he could find , Paying with my hard earn money and suporting the game isnt LAZY , promoting the game and advertise it for free isnt LAZY ,

This thing as it is take out Highly anticipated object thats we want and saw and expect , LOCK AWAY FROM US and we dont see that we could have those anytime soon since theyr is not much peoples left for us to invite

Tho its a awesome feature for truely new players to this game ;) , But it screw up all the vets

I understand where you're coming from. If I may cite vanilla WoW as an example... I remember the first time I saw a player with a Legendary-rarity tier weapon, andlthough I knew my character would never possess anything of the sort, I was happy knowing that I was playing a game that rewarded such a level of dedication.

I really like the idea of these elusive items being attainable only through referrals and not via the store, but 25 referrals at $10 each is completely out of the reach of 99% of the playerbase. By all means, make people work for these cosmetics to give them some deeper desirability and value, but bring it down to something like 10 referrals based on XP/ranking up rather than the purchase of in gamecurrency.

also... legendary items were earned in game through glorious feats. They were not earned from getting other people to buy a WoW sub, and you certainly couldn't circumvent the system by buying them for 250 dollars... legitimately anyway...

He doesn't give a gerbils chihuahua. What's so hard to understand you idiot.

Of course not, but it doesn't do them any good if they get flooded with dummy accounts.

Totalbiscuit is an unfunny, unwitty, Tryhard Ben Croshaw Wannabe.

Actually, SOE probably knows exactly what their doing.

Let's look at this from their perspective, shall we? They've read their Economics 101, and know that monopoly rent and zero marginal cost spells "cha-ching". They also know that these cosmetics were highly anticipated, even before they were leaked, i.e. numerous threads asking for black camo, for instance. So someone over there cranks some numbers and decides that a good price to set would be $100 for recon camo (and he's likely not very far off). Of course, selling a cosmetic for $100 when your game is 8 months in, badly optimized, and riddled with bugs is an instant firestorm, so they dress it up with this referral system, knowing full well that essentially no one at this stage will have 10 or 25 paying friends to refer.

Luckily for the rest of us wanting recon camo, SOE has most certainly heard of consumer stratification as well, meaning there will probably be some normally priced darker camo released soon enough, once they've decided that the first batch of whales have been sufficiently milked.

Indeed, but as much as I'd love it, I can't see the SOE having a system in game whereby rare cosmetics are unlocked through actual feats rather than things like real money and referrals.

It irks me that in PS2 there are no exclusive cosmetic upgrades that unlock as you rise through battle ranks.

You did notice that I realized that and I was just being facetious. If not I think you need to reevaluate who is the prat

$100 for any single digital item in any game is a ******* joke. SOE are taking the piss out of every player they currently have by even suggesting this to them.

All these items should be sold through the in game shop for the usual 1000SC and I think they would likely make more money than they could make from referrals. I have no evidence of this just logical sense

SOE has been doing referral plans (Or Buddy Tokens) in one form or another for years, it's nothing new. However in the past the numbers required have been much lower, maybe because at that time you still had to buy the game at retail and then sub.

Anyway there's nothing in this new plan that I can't live without and if the plan gets more people into the game for me to shoot at then I'm ok with it.

That said it would have been nice if they'd found other items for the referral rather than ones that the community was waiting for...

This is one of the main contentious points.

They have been teasing us with various things for months and then slap a big "but first you must do this" tag all over it

There are a lot of people that were looking forward to the black crystallize camo, myself included
