Top Outfits of each faction (Waterson)

List your top 5 atleast, outfits of each faction. If could be your favorite, outfit that you think is a big threat when they do ops, an outfit that can change a tide, or when you see ally/enemy outfits, you should say, oh **** they're here. I'll go first.

If you can't tell I don't really like zergs. More annoying then anything. I like having a good back and forth fight, not something that ends up being extremely one sided because I just had PLATOONS pull up to take out half a SQUAD or is such an easy fight it turns into a free cert farm.

It would help to know your faction and outfit, to better put your choices in the proper perspective...

Where do you make this list from... Do you even look at their stats, why would your fear half these guys..?

I would mention XoO as the best of all but that may be biased .

BTW Liberty the post is about your opinion on best outfit. Who you think is the best fight etc not stat wise.

I am not going to list TR because I am TR.

My list is based on individual skill/platoon level impact. DVS is massive but has a couple of crack players, XOO is skillful (one of the few crack infantry outfits I see) but also pulls numbers when needed. Usually needs a mix of both to be a case of 'oh crap that was interesting'.

On the whole i prefer fighting the Vanu. The NC outfits tend to take the attitude of 'that squad is tough, lets send a platoon at it!' versus the VS which do more with less.


As for Umbras comment, NUC runs ops 7 nights a week at 8 PM. Usually go to the alerts and fight the platoons there. Since we move pretty fast and pick decisive fights, we often go to areas on an individual squad basis, and send the platoon to one area as a whole only when needed. This means that you won't often see NUC in large numbers

Not that it matters, but i'm def. putting my stamp of approval on this list. I would suggest adding TRAF to the TR roster. Its been a pleasure to go up against, and work with all these outfits. My hats off to you all. Regards!

Just because a faction has numbers, or to be frank, can hold 2 platoons off with 3 squads doesn't make them a zerg lol. Furthermore, it would be nice of you to appreciate and note forces who often zerg. People who are not in zergs usually have negative attitudes toward them; with that respect people who zerg have a negative attitude to spec teams (as I call them).

Truth be told, both are a necessary and valuable part of a factions composition. Respect each other and succeed together. Continue to fulfill your ego and deny acknowledgement of each other and eventually fall to demise.

I enjoy going up against SENT because of their undying perseverance in taking us out.

They're probably smaller than some of the larger outfits but make up for lack of quantity with quality.

I think you misunderstood me. I generally dislike outfits that people commonly lump under the umbrella term "zergfit" correct or not. It has little to do with the quality of their players, although they do tend to be free certs a lot of the time. What I dislike though is how they will respond to everything with multiple full platoons. I'll use a recent fight I had a NS Secure (granted it was close to the NC warpgate at the time, so I can let a little of it go) as an example. At the time we owned the hex. There happened to be a squad of NC capping it. XoO responded with a little less then a full squad. Maybe around 9 people. Took out the NC squad, re-secured the place. While we were doing this we had PLATOONS show up with full armor and full air. All of this to take one small point that was only guarded by not even a full squad. This happens to us constantly, to the point it is a running joke for us. More often then not "zergfits" just hurl numbers at places until the opposition can't even put up a fight. It's not fun to fight against.

Meh, this kind of discussion is kinda pointless. Different outfits do different things; AUXG can do things PHX can't and vice versa. The trick is getting them to work together.

To be fair, the way that the PSU stats is weighted favors much smaller outfits as it's based on averages. As a commander of the Purple Wraiths we are by no means the top outfit. I think we can definitely hold our own even with such small numbers among our fellow Vanu, but we're definitely not the best. We're new, and we've got a bit of work to truly deserve the #1 slot. But I do take pride in how active, dedicated and organized our guys can be when the challenge arises.

You should sort it with a minimum number of members being ~90. It's much more impressive to have organization on a larger scale than it is on a smaller one, and I recognize that. Our slow growth as made it easier for us to maintain balance, so the amount of dedication those larger outfits make to keep organized is very admirable.

But I honestly think it's pointless to try and rank the outfits like this. Every outfit excels in a different area, and through the Vanu alliance we all work together frequently. So I can't really rate my own faction.

However for TR: NUC, IR and IDDI give us the most trouble.

NC: NCSO gives us some crazy good fights along with PHX.

rumors of our demise are a bit premature (although that's EXACTLY what someone who was about to self destruct would type I suppose) But seriously, our last event 'VA vs Snow with UN1T from NC' seemed to be a decent success and we're looking for some willing TR outfits who would like to do the same thing sometime near the end of May. Quite honestly the game, the way we prefer to play it.. needs to speed up a bit... we like strat, like to draw on the map, outfit owned bases, more communication, multiple waypoints, stuff like that and it feels like I'm playing half of what PS1 was. Don't get me wrong, it's still great, and lucky for them the only game in town like it... but i want more.

and when i say more, i don't mean a new pistol... you can keep your weekly new guns SOE... give me the tools to command my outfit the way i did in PS1. If you want me to walk around saying this is better than PS1.. make it better than PS1.. as it is, it's a worthy successor, but that's the best I can give you at the moment.

They did more with less, and unfortunately , so am I with the current tools available to me.

My favorite night of PS2 so far was FNO BRIT vs Vanu Alliance on Amerish. DVS felt left out so they pulled mass air -- more aircraft in one mob than I have ever seen before or since. At one point we were running more than a full squad of bursters for AA coverage! Lots of fun that night giving Reavers and Mossies both a face full of flak and lots of smiles all around every time we blew up TotalBiscuit's aircraft
