Oh, and I win face-to-face fights with HA. It's called "SHOTGUN TO THA FACE", or "Carbine has higher DPS, suck it as I blow your shield+face away"

If I was naming the classes I would rename LA to Surprise Assault.

The RPS discussion is always a hard one. On one hand it would be nice to be able to pick any class and be good in every situation, on the other hand this tends to be the decisive point between team play vs team deathmach game (personally I would rather go with the first). It's impossible to create involving team play mechanics without the feeling that you need to rely on your team mate since at the current point in time that person is more suitable for the job. This makes PS2 a game of choosing the best tool for the job. I understand it might not be fun for everybody, but personally I like the fact that it gives me a bit of pre-planning phase before going into action and makes me challenge myself with new classes and gameplays. If any class would be good in any situation that game might loose a bit of its depth.

In terms of LA and open terrain - when I'm adamant about playing LA and don't want to change class I hop into a lightning (autorepair, fire suppression). Often when I'm cornered I just rush at the tank that is about to reload and destroy me and C4 him while the opponent hectically tries to finish my tank off. You're still better of as a engineer but it's at least fun to play.

LA indoors is kinda bad, i tried to play with flashbangs to a good effect that I would prefer concussion or EMP if I had the choice. Luckily you are rarely purely indoors, there's always a roof to go, towers, techplants and biolabs are super LA-friendly although taking the actual point is probably not suggested when alone.
