The game started to freeze from time to time after the latest updates to the game. This freezing time sometimes takes 3 seconds and sometimes 10 seconds. Then it continues from where it left off spontaneously. If your running an Nvidia driver the freezes and stutter are being caused by it, when they added image sharpening as an extra feature, since that update it has been a chronic issue for Windows 10 users. Nvidia is aware of it and working on a fix, you can see it in the notes for the 7/9 update, however this has been an ongoing issue, glad they are aware of it.
Thank god Nvidia are working on it. It's unbearable. You can be engaged in a fight and then suddenly the game will freeze. When it unfreezes, you're royally a puckered turd-hole.
this is the 3rd (or 4th?) thread on this problem, I'll summarise for you : 1. problem comes from latest NVDIA driver which introduces a new feature that is supposed to increase graphic performance 2. it is (supposedly) triggered when you alt tab. 3. problem can be solved by installing the previous NVIDIA driver which doesn't have this feature. 4. if you don't want to do that, there's a workaround ---->>> while in game, go into Windowed mode then go into Fullscreen. (if you usually play in windowed, do the opposite)
1: The 3 most recently released drivers have the same problem. 2: It has nothing to do with it. 3: I tried the 6 most recently released Nvidia drivers but it didn't work. (At least it doesn't work for me) 4: This doesn't work. NOTE: This problem is unfortunately caused by PlanetSide 2 itself. There are too many optimization issues in the game. The only way to solve this is to reconfigure the game with a new generation game engine. Finally, not just the game, the computer freezes completely At that moment, the graphics card and processor are used at maximum performance.

I happened to me, even when doing construction, the game will freeze while driving ANT. Rolled back to Nvidia Drivers 446.16 and that fixed it for me.
