Time to reduce the spam

Grenades, rockets, C4, proximity mines, vehicle mines, tank shells, A2G rockets and lib bombs.

There's just too much random spam that takes no skill and no thinking to just bombard an area. It needs toning back.

Or you could simply either adapt or play a game without explosives, solitare sounds like a good game for you..

there is way to much crying and whining about non existent issues

    you forgot shotguns btw ;)

for your information its called TACTIC .. you slow down the enemy

this aint counterstrike where the only skill that counts is the skill you referring to, here you need many skills.. a skill set, your type sadly only understands one skill

you should maybe try to USE those things, and then you eventually will get it how this game is played

Yeah cus you know, Battles are clearly very orderly and organised events where everyone is gentlemanly and takes their turn to shoot at one another, and everyone despises those Artillery strikes cus clearly its Trolling with no Skillz and needs no effort whatsoever.

Lets put this in perspective: during two famous instances a British Challenger 2 tank in Iraq was hit by over a Dozen A-T missiles in one firefight, in another instance another Chally 2 was hit by -70- thats right; SEVENTY A-T rounds of various types. An American Abrams in the same conflict, during a gun battle not only had fairly pointless, yet large amounts of small arms fire being directed at it, but also was being shot at by both Anti-Tank weaponry AND Mortars. In all cases, all this was happening with the very present threat of mines and IEDs.

So to conclude, any claims of 'Random Spam' as in Mines, C4, aerial bombardment, tank shells, rockets etc, is quite honestly, to put this bluntly a Pile of S**t. It is very much NOT random, and is apart of the crazy battlefield experience PS2 is attempting to achieve; unlimited warfare.

I know its a game; but its a better game because it is so hectic, intense, and crazy, because thats how it SHOULD be. If I wanted it all to be toned back I may as well go and play COD. Boring, dull and predictable.

Perhaps this game merely isn't for you?

It's fine there is just 200 people shooting at you. That is what happens in a massive battle.

Most of the things you listed you can only hold one or 2 at a time
  7. Le_Fou

    Flak armor FTW!

Also, stop crying about everything killed you

They're all skill compressors. They make the bracket between people who tend to be good at shooters and those who are bad a lot narrower. A couple of rockets is fine; when that's ALL that's being shot at a tower and no one is pointing a rifle at you then it's because one is a lot easier than the other.

I'm not bad at this game. I'll pitch my k/d against yours happily if that's how you measure a forum opinion. I'm just exasperated at the sheer amount of explosive ordnance used because its easier to hit someone with massive splash damage than to shoot with bullets, where there's no margin of error.

Once again, you obviously don't know what Planetside 2 was built around as a game, k/d is a nonsense stat in this game. If you find it to be an important stat to you personally, you should more than likely play something else, where it means a damn.

Sounds like someone thinks nanoweave is good.
  11. LordMondando

    Its a war, in space.

    Contains explosions.

And a definition of skill at Ps2 that doesn't include positioning first and foremost is just a little misguided.

No, it's a war on Auraxis.

There is no space maps yet.
  13. LordMondando

    Auraxis is in space.

Also once the metagame is properly done 3-4 months down the line, I intend to ***** and moan to SoE pretty much non-stop about including outer space combat. Pew pew lasers.
  14. Crashsplash

I love how much jumping to conclusions there is in this thread.

KDR don't mean squat. I will reroll a new toon and never leave the spawn and wreck any KDR you have.

Most explosives in this game can be easliy dodge to the point they don't kill you then you just jam the healing pen into our arm and go back into combat at full health
  16. Pikachu

Make explosive stuff cost resources? People will be less willing to use them on infantry then.
  17. Camycamera

oh okay. so what you are saying is that it doesn't take much skill to (not including lock on launchers obviously, but these are the majority of this "spam") lead a rocket into a target by estimating where the target may go next, then firing? how about C4, performing the art of stealthing around the target, and avoiding getting spotted and avoiding the blast radius of the explosion?

lets just remove esplosions from this game and see what happens.
  18. Eclipson

Use Flak armor, your gameplay experience will instantly be improved by a factor of 50%.

A fella offers an opinion to tone back the explosive overload in the game and a pack of yipping hyenas immediately starts nipping at the poor guy's heals about how he should learn to play, coming to the uninformed conclusion that the OP's dislike of something can only be borne from incompetence.

This is not the age of reason, it is the age of conjecture and hysteria.

Let's take the performance angle instead - when the lattice system takes effect, the lag that many experience in larger battles will be compounded by the all the animated explosive ordnance going off everywhere.

PS2 could do with a little moderation when it comes to explosions. That won't turn PS2 into Counterstrike by any means. It would be better for the overall gaming experience - on balance - if projectile weapons were more prominent and useful in the game, compared to McBombing everything.

    I'M IMPRESSED ! VERY WELL SAID !

if it would be up to me it would be even more hectic, there where a few things in BF2 that are missing in this game

tear gas, much more suicide bombings(because you could use landmines attached to your vehicle, instead of C4), orbital bombardment, destructible bridges, boats

but hopefully they bring back the MAX flamethrower at least ;)
