Engineers should carry a Thumper from the original Planetside, since light assault get rocklett a and heavies get launchers. Give us back the cylindrical grenade launcher with frags, plasma and emp, but add smoke and tear gas. We are supposed to be the explosive experts right?
Frankly, as the secondary demolition class I never understood why engineers never had a ranged weapon to deal with vehicles other than the AV turret (which is pretty much useless). Grenade launcher or the crossbow with explosive bolts is decent, but neither work well at range. And engineers close to a vehicle are dead engineers.
I'm fine with Engineers receiving a dedicated grenade launcher. However, the drawback should be it's an unlockable for the tool slot. So, sacrifice consistent repairs for the extra damage potential.
