Only certain weapons count as infantry vs infantry skill...
Their stats do not view it as combined arms, each weapon group is broken down into domains..
I think you are not understanding, you can also look at light/heavy vehicles, aircraft, shotguns, they each have their own domain.

Are you just mad that your shotguns don't count towards your ivi (riffle/pistols) domain??

You do realize that there is a general information section that shows you your combined stats right?
That would be your combined arms score.

Or you can view it class by class..

Their site is awesome, don't dismiss it simply because you have a problem with them calling riffle domain "ivi".

The difference is sanctioned weapons allow skill to actually be a factor in an encounter.

If I turn the corner on a Max and he insta gibs me, that wasn't me being outskilled or outplayed, and doesn't say anything about my skill as a player, I didn't even have a chance. So why should that death count as part of my KDR stat when evaluating my Infantry vs Infantry play?

What defines skill? If you flank your opponent and kill him from behind, is that skill? It probably is. What if you run into someone from behind by accident? Is that skill? Probably not. If you kill an Infiltrator with your MAX, is that skill? I doubt it.

The only way to measure skill is how often you hit your target. So basically aiming-precision is the only real skill worth talking about. Even then we have to take into account that closer targets are easier to hit.

Here is a pro-tip: Lack of skill can be (over)compensated by good decision-making. If you avoid situations where you are at a disadvantage and look for spots where you got the advantage, you can be successful even if you are not that skilled after all. I am really not that good as a player, but I am pretty decent at hiding it.

Last but not least, I get screwed while playing Medic also, but I still enjoy it. It is one of these classes where you get the impression that you can make a difference and nothing feels better than a rez-grenade that revives the whole zerg at once.

Sanctioned = Infantry vs Infantry weapons.

Meaning, for Infantry vs Infantry stats, it only shows Infantry vs Infantry weapons.

It isn't because of MLG wannabee circlejerking, it is because ******* logic that you apparently don't understand.

If you want to see infantry stats, why would you include kills and deaths from non-infantry weapons?

You can still see MBT vs MBT stats, ESF vs ESF stats, overall stats, etc.

You're just using it as an excuse.

Hah! Yeah the part I left out which I guess was more pertinent to your original topic would be looking at those stats through the context of the post in question. I'll usually only look someone up when they say something silly or something worthy of discussion. (Silly being a nice way of saying stupid or something in my opinion is wrong).

Taking the context and tone of the post against a players stats and you can maybe see where they are coming from.

If I were play the "What If" game with this situation, based on the OP without looking on the video I'd have probably guessed you were either failing to perform as well as you feel you should or just venting frustration over players with a different goal set to playing the game. (As there is nothing wrong with playing for the love of the game or playing to better yourself using your stats as a reference point).

Looking at your DA stats page, through the filter of this character being A. presumably your first and main character created back in December of 2012 B. Someone who isn't a stat centric player from the tone of your post and C. Someone who plays the game casually but is interested in it enough to be active on the forums I'd say you are :

Decently above average when it comes to player ability when compared to the average player you run into in game.. Getting 50-60 KPH and ~2.5-3.0 K/D heavy and 2.0-2.5 medic is really pretty solid with all things above considered and requires a certain level of aggression (in playstyle) for a non stat centric player. With a near 40% capture rate, you also aren't sitting back in defensible bases but probably sticking yourself in less than favorable situations. (So it would be pretty safe to assume, this thread wasn't about failing to meet performance goals.)

How above average are you? You can't really tell, it is pretty subjective. This where like Mustarde said things like gameplay videos (or in the case of recruiting) playing beside someone can help fill in the picture.

But yeah, at best it paints a vague playstyle picture but I like to think it helps add context to posts or player applications. I know not everyone thinks this way and most (of which the complaints are about) are usually "get gud scub, wrekt, 1 v 1 me bro, etc" kind of people, but whether they can see they have a 0.5 K/D higher than you or not, they'll likely asshats either way.

WOWOWOW WAIT A SECOND HERE OP !

DO YOU MEAN HA CAN ACTUALLY BE KILLED BY MEDICS ????!!!!
wtf i thought their shield was so freakin gamebreakingly OP that supports classes didn't stand a single change against these LMG wielding beasts of doom.

    Yeah stats mean nothing, thx.

I like to track my stats for my personal improvement. Since starting the game with an office mouse and bad internet and walking outside the warpgate with no tutorial available. Until now with a gaming mouse, cable modem, and helping instruct others. Although if the intent was to manipulate the stats, it seems easy enough to do. You could just pick your battles for that purpose, let alone the various farming implements.

So its not skill when another weapon does it because someone knows how to aim, but if you turn a corner and someone happens to have his reticule in exactly the right spot by chance and drills you 3 times in the head at 5m in .5 seconds with a lucky burst its skill? This is somehow more skillful than the guy who drilled you in the head from 200m away with a sniper rifle while you were on a dead run?

A light assault on a tower roof with a carbine and sensor shield crouched above and aiming at the doorway while his buddies in ESFs are roving around shelling the top deck who happens to drill you in the head again as soon as you're leaving the spawn? That's skill too right? You didn't have a chance then either.

I v I stats are just another bit of information that doesn't tell the whole story.

    Quoted for emphasis. ^^

The main issue with a lot of internet arguments is the fact that they only use one reference point. "Your K/D is bad, so you must stink!", etc. Stats don't lie... they can be incorrectly gathered, but if the data is valid, it's fact. The problem comes in how you interpret those stats. You are inferring something based on a single number. That's where people get into trouble.

On DA's stat site, it says I have a 24 K/D (S-level) and a 59.5% accuracy (M-Level) for the V10 (alpha squad BASR for VS). Those stats are correct and are fact. Am I a sniping god? Laughable... I've got a C+++ KPH with that weapon and used it during the old Tech plant meatgrinder days. When the majority of players were new to the game and didn't realize you should look up when getting hit in the head. Back when the majority of players were sub-BR50... literally. (Stopped using it a few months after release when I got my Parallax (V10 was free with alpha squad))

Stats are useful tools, but will never tell the whole story. A true analysis and judgement should take into account many different sources, including many different stats, videos, personal observations, experience, etc.

One hit kills and having 10x the HP I have or even just complete invulnerability to me does not involve skill.

There are still issues with IVI stats as they alone don't paint the whole picture on IVI competence, but they aren't for the reasons you are thinking, such as snipers shotguns maxes or vehicles taking skill, which they don't in order to kill infantry.

The only thing that makes the IVI KDR not foolproof, is you can take 95% damage from a max then get hit with a stray bullet from a T1 Cycler and die, and it'll count towards IVI KDR. Only the weapon used for the last hit matters.
