Now our old Mr.Higgles thinks that the lasher is being buffed, and i'm going to prove that it is actually being NERFED.
    On live
    [IMG]
    On PTS
    [IMG]

    Accuracy
On live Crouch accuracy / Crouch move accuracy / Stand accuracy / Stand move accuracy / Accuracy lost per shot fired
    Aim accuracy-.4/.12/.5/2/.003
    Hip fire Accuracy-.12/.05/.12/1/.005
    On PTS
    Aim accuracy-.3/.3/.3/.5.005
    Hip fire accuracy-1.5/2/2/2.5/.1

The aim accuracy has been buffed dramatically, but the hip fire accuracy has been nerfed completely. You should also notice that the hip fire accuracy on live is more accurate then the aim accuracy on PTS. So now you have much worse accuracy and are forced to ADS, even though the lasher bolts blind line of sight.
    Recoil
The lashers recoil has increased as well, wait what? So it has worse accuracy AND more recoil?

    Damage/RPM/Reload time
The lashers damage has been slightly increased, about 5 damage which is nothing, but the lashers splash damage, the main reason people use the damn weapon has been nerfed on the outer splash damage. The RPM has been increased from 300 to 333.
    Reload time
    Live-5.4/4.374s
    PTS-5.2/4.2

The changes made to the lasher are focusing it as a direct hit weapon, the lasher is a splash weapon that is designed to keep enemies at bay, by making these so called "buffs" the lasher has become even more situational then it already is by making it worse at range and slightly better at guarding doorways.

    so they're making lasher into ....... non-lasher ?

    what were the devs thinking.

if you're going to unify everything into a simple direct hit mechanics, why should i choose lasher over every other LMG in the game ?

if i want a direct hit gun, would i choose lasher for its 333 rpm , with weak *** muzzle velocity , or my sva88 with six times the muzzle velocity, and double the rpm of lasher ?

i dont understand at all devs , i dont understand.
  3. Elrobochanco

I can deal with it being more like a regular gun, but it would need a large boost in rpm and projectile speed to be at all competitive, or a direct damage buff (but that's a potentially stupid thing like shotguns).

I wonder if this means we'll be seeing new scopes and slots for the special weapons.
  4. Derrik

Typical Higbystyle - a lot of loud words and no real actions. As I can see Lasher will be same pointless and useless weapon, still waste of my 700 SC.

This is why I just play "Chase the buff" MMO developers on average have no idea how to balance a game. So instead of staying frustrated like I used to all the time, I go with what ever they make the flavor of the month... It sucks but whatever, these mental midgets make me do it.

I don't evern participate on Test server since I have seen these dudes don't listen anyways. But im guessing the MCG is going to be the new OP thing this next month...

If it is, time to use and abuse it!
  6. Lowback

There's a better way to do it.

The Lasher should have a second firing mode that trades the lash effect for muzzle velocity. That's all you need to do.

    1.) Useful at range.
2.) Useful when AE damage is not desirable because of friendly units engaged in CQC.
3.) Fits empire theme of brain power over stopping power.
4.) More lasher sales in the depot.

If they wanted to buff it, I'd have increased the splash part and maybe nerfed the direct damage while also upping the velocity. Rate of fire can stay the same, just need the balls of light to actually hit near the target in time. All SOE is doing is making this into an LMG knock off.

Now for some ranting... Sick and tired of this crap, all but dropped VS and the game... If we were supposed to play as NS, they shouldn't have typoed the V instead of N... Having never played ps1 I had to research the faction differences... Hover tanks, portable sniper rocket launchers, aoe plasma cannons, super sayan mechs and a general feeling of sci fi power brought me over since I was sick of cod/battlefield. But apparently all our faction defining traits are op and either prior nerfed or nerfed soon after. Every time they ask us what we want they ignore us and implement something else then buff it to weasel us into using it anyway then complain that we hate them or won't use stuff if its not OP... I ****ing wonder why...

So yeah if the lasher needs to be a standard gun, why the hell would I pick this faction over another? I guess ultimately it doesn't matter huh... I want to have fun but every new update I swear is killing my enjoyment of the game... Sigh

The lasher shouldn't win you a one on one fight, it's meant to give a different toy and let people have fun a different way. Not sure how battlefield does it but they even gave points for suppressing fire on an enemy even if you don't kill or hit them, you'd still get points for pinning them down. This is something the lasher and mini gun should be able to do maybe *shrugs*

A suggestion I posted in another thread was to have either a limited EMP or Flash effect. Each splash that you got hit by would intensify the flash effect or the duration of the EMP effect. So for example if it provided a flashbang effect to targets it hit, the first hit would provide 20% of the maximum flashbang effect for .25 seconds. This would stack up to 5 times for 100% flashbang effect (basically the same as when a flashbang first hits you) for 1.25 seconds. The lasher shots, however, would still be visible so you could shoot at the source of the shooting. If EMP were used instead (fire mode?) then the EMP effect would last, say, 2 seconds per hit.

Then the weapon could be used for true suppression-style team-play as well as be pretty good if you get the drop on someone in 1v1. If you didn't get the drop, the low damage output of the gun would probably mean you were chowder, but at least you would have a chance with the blinding effect.

Thank you for the post. Also hope my pic is useful ;3
  10. Eyeklops

My god that would be OP. The only way it could get worse is if you swapped "flash/EMP" for "concussion." How about the orbs just lash all enemies that get within 5m? A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a weapon lashed, and it was good.
  11. Spookydodger

I suggested concussion for an NC ES weapon trait.

It's not so OP if you think about it. The weapon itself isn't very damaging, so anyone else can pretty quickly take that guy out. It is a weapon meant to be used in conjunction with regular soldiers, and the maximum length of time the blinding effect would last is 1.25 seconds before it faded out, so a total impairment of about 2 seconds. 2 seconds for everyone within 5 meters of an impact point.

Remember you have to stop firing before your own troops get there, or else you blind them, too. So all it really enables someone to do is suppress long-range fire to allow troops to advance.

If that is too much, then EMP would work better, because then the only thing you would do to the other person is disable heal guns / their huds. Still assisting, but not so debilitating.

And through it all, all it takes to counter is someone firing from a place that is not the target of the lasher. 3-5 rounds and the lasher is pretty dead. Just like now.
  12. Puppy

In my opinion the weapon should have less direct hit and more splash damage. That would make it more useful. But I'm not sure how kuch is to much in that case.
  13. DerDoopity

Thank the derp that i got Auraxium Medal on this thing before this nerf. That was painful enough. Why the bloody hell would i want lower splash damage?

The only primary weapon in the game that gets its damage reduced by flak armor, and they're nerfing the damage ?

I mean, sure, it will slightly help with self damage at close range and firing on an enemy that is close to a friendly, but sheeit it's still gonna hit the friendly.

I wasn't accidentally weapons locked ever by Lasher, but i'm sure it sucked for friendlies to be recieving the damage period.
  14. Kiddneey

Time to make the Lasher actually lash, a la Planetside 1.
  15. Puppy

Updated test server. New Lasher stats. Splash damage is back!

They've finally given the lasher sight attachments!

    YES
  17. Van Dax

    YESSSSSS!

now I just need to decide which scope I want
  18. Clutchstep

Accuracy is still getting hit with the nerf stick though. I still don't think that damage buff, even with the splash damage retained, will make up for the fact that we'll now be forced to ADS and still suffer worse accuracy than before.

Time to point out what's on the PTS is notm guaranteed to go live as per the twitter sphere and all that.
  20. Xasapis

That's a no-brainer. Considering that IRNV covers completely the glowing effect of all weapons, it's the best choice for the lasher. Even if they add sway, it wouldn't matter much in a weapon that does AoE damage.
