Well, I for one am a terrible player, but I know that Waterson contains some guys who are truly a force to be reckoned with.
Truth, this is a fact. Lots of easy kills on Waterson for whatever reason or reasons. This server is good for my stats
All skill, right? Dont break your arm patting yourself on the back. But please do continue. It is funny to watch an NC zerg roll over a small defense, and then celebrate.
Just ask the Jaeger NC about Space Australia, they know the horrors of a defense if they've gone against that.
I don't speak for any outfits, but I think broken arms are a common injury among a few Jaeger Outfits. Still doesn't change the fact that they may be correct. I still can't wait for the Outfit base captures to be implemented, and I hope it's done correctly. So it may knock a few outfits off their pedastals.
probably this because we were talking about the same thing in our voice comms about how poor the Jaeger players on NC and TR were. I doubt there is a magical place where all the best players are and another place where inferior players play and I doubt the reasoning is that Waterson is better than Jaeger or the other way around. Waterson is a larger server to what you are experiencing, what any of us are experiencing, so because of that you are running into more and more numbers. When you enter a large battle you will kill more and die more due to the fact there are only so many hiding spots. The time when you could capture and readily defend leopardwood in primetime with a squad is now over. Defending Reagent Rock with anything less than a platoon? Nice try! The game has slowly devolved into a numbers game rather than the more tactical gameplay we used to see. I remember times when it was just XoO versus EGO for example at the Rock and we managed to hold it against their pushes. Now it's attacked by EGO, plus 12 other random outfits while XoO and 12 other random outfits defend.
I dont agree. From my time on the servers I play (Jaeg/Waterson and Genudine/Helios), its an NC thing. Both with the largest NC pop, and both with the biggest heads. As they say, I am just calling them as I see them. My NC character has run with PHX many times, so its not a 1 sided jab at them. They do just fine, but also get excited about things that any other squad/platoon consider normal. Like taking back an amp station with a platoon against a small squad of TR, and saying how much bootay they kicked. At the same time a larger force of TR came to take it back, and order was given "We can win that, there are too many, back to the warpgate for a new target". If it boosts moral of the platoon, good I guess, but when it spreads to the forums and sounds insulting to the players of our new "home" it makes Blackweb look like a dolt.
So far I'm liking it because: 1) You're guaranteed a good fight no matter what continent you're in, if you want to avoid big zergs just go to esamir and you can have good fights of like 2 or 3 squads each side. 2) We're now not affected by the huge population disadvantage (Indar is always 33/33/33, and we can have good numbers in at least one other territory) The bad thing is that zergs are everywhere, and some battles are a complete mess where you can't shoot anyone because some idiot stands in your way, my teamkill count probably doubled since the merge =( Oh btw, the last time I read someone call out for "Mar Mar" in the yell chat when they saw one of our squads, we ended up facerolling them, so I'd recommend you guys don't do it anymore
I don't think it is necessarily a difference in skill, as it is the sheer number of people present. My favorite thing to do is to sneak around groups and open up with a haymaker. On Jaeger, this would lead to 1-2 kills in a streak before I had to jump over a rail and run. I got as high as 5 kills in a streak this weekend, more than once. I attribute it more to the higher volume of things to focus on, means you have less awareness of your immediate surroundings, since there is so so so much happening 100m infront of you. Just my 10 cents.
Agreed. Even shots at near random seem to be finding targets now, and you could practically LA from ESF to ESF from warpgate to warpgate.
This, I don't know how many times people said: "A lot of [Insert ESF name] inbound" to which, being a Jaeger player I'd expect to see like, 4. Nope. On Waterson "A Lot" now means somewhere about 20. ...which is great, as I really enjoyed duck hunt when I was young
Loving it. There's so much more action compared to the original Waterson. Last night there was a steady 33%-33%-33% population on Indar. I was very pleased to see that.
Friendly air is still the most dangerous thing flying, probably even more so now. I experienced 3 mid air collisions last night alone, none my fault of course, but I witnessed dozens of zerg on zerg friendly flying fails last night.
Have to reiterate how pleased I am with the merger. I was camping Space Baltimore last night (Ravenings landing, once you get into Baltimore you never leave) with BRSN and HTSL and it was a blast. We invited several other outfits to join us and made the area a no fly zone. Flak, aircraft, tank columns. They tried everything on us for over 4 hours. Eventually we up and infantry charged Mt. Doom (the Ascent). Damn place was like D-day. I felt a great sense of satisfaction just making it up that bloody mountain under heavy fire with Stodji of HTSL while piles of bodies of my comrades lay around me. This sort of thing was FAR less common on Jaeger, but appears to be something that you can do almost all the time on Waterson. This is why I continue to play this game after sinking 500+ hours into it. And all this occured from 11 PM to about 1:30 AM, not even prime-time.
I was piloting/gunning in one of those libs orbiting that area for a few hours last night. Thought we had finally broken it when we swept off the top of the double story building with all the MAXes, engis, and heavies. My gunner got a chunk of kills shooting into the stairwells and we went into orbit mode over the far side of the base to settle in and bust up the sunderer parked under a cat walk when we took mystery damage equal to 3/4s of the lib. I used up a ton of air resources over that 1 base but y'all put up one ferocious defense.
+ Larger fights Less ghostcapping by both friendly or enemy troops No Indar anymore More people to communicate whit in leadership chat - Tactical disorganization Waterson attracted a lot off Noobs whit the merge mostly outfitless players Enemies seem to easy to kill sometimes Way more griefing especially people blowing up friendly sunderers
Was an amazing fight that's for sure. HSTL always has the amazing habit of starting insane defenses in the most annoying places.
Today was even more nuts. We stalled the NC at jagged lance. It must have been a battle of 500vs500 people. Holy ****.
