Honestly this is one of the main reasons PS2 has lowish pop these days. Old SOE devs tried to cater to the stupid MLG crowd, look what it cost!
If the empire's just had ONE gun if each class that didn't care about the headshot meta all of this could literally be fixed overnight. Closest thing is Lynx and it still requires head focus. Seriously, just have one weapon of each family revamped to do no bonus headshot damage but have lower ttk than it's counterpart.

Inb4 this devolves into "BUT U'd BE REMOVING SKILL FROM THE GAME!" ...completely ignoring the fact that the highest PAYING professional gaming Circuit in the world currently doesn't even HAVE guns in it. And the highest paid Streamers in the world the past 2 years are using a style of guns that might as well be from Halo.... (when they're not instant-building a Sky-scraper to confound their opponent and drop down on top of them easier)
