There is NO reason that NC and TR tanks should be able to shoot aircraft out of the skies.

One tank shell doesn't instagib a plane. I've shot many a ESFs with my lightning. It takes half their health. It takes a good few to take down a lib and quite a bit more for a galaxy. It's rather difficult (except when they are parked on the ground) Those bullets are super slow and it's usually through quite a distance in a 3D plane, rather than predictable on the ground movements.

If you got shot down with a tank GG and move on. IT'S A FREAKING TANK.

I'm seriously waiting for NC coming here to complain about how they can't shoot down aircraft with their ESRL as easily as VS can with their one. Can anyone summon some NC whiners here, please?

So from what I have read, A Vanu is complaining that the other 2 factions are killing his aircraft with tanks. While never playing an other faction realizing that no matter which faction you choose, the other two factions will be able to shoot you down with anything (Sort of). You say Magriders can't kill aircraft? A Skilled player will prove you wrong. I've been shot out of the sky by tanks, but its because I flew too low. If tanks are constantly killing your aircraft then you need to realize that you are just a bad pilot.

What part of this discussion don't you understand?

1. Before the bullet velocity buff to NC and TR tanks, their tanks could barely shoot down aircraft at all.

2. The bullet velocity was buffed to make them perform better against MAGRIDERS. Not against aircraft.

3. This buff had the UNINTENDED consequence of allowing their tanks to shoot aircraft out of the skies much more easily, and this occurs much more commonly ever since the update.

4. Vanu bullet velocity is crap and bullet drop is terrible, so we are still as bad as ever at shooting aircraft out of the skies.

5. The ability for a tank equipped with an anti-tank or anti-infantry weapon to shoot aircraft out of the skies (yes, even hovering aircraft that are moving slowly) was never intended nor does it make sense in the balance of the game.

In other words, I want this capability removed entirely. Or if SOE actually thinks that shooting aircraft with tanks is something that should be in the game, at least let Vanu do this in some way, shape, or form.

Why should NC and TR tanks counter VS aircraft, but not vice versa? (Especially considering that VS ESF's are so much wider and easier to hit than the other two factions' aircraft).

I'm saying that Magriders hit and/or kill AT LEAST 50X LESS aircraft than the other two factions' heavy battle tank weapons.

I entreat SOE to release these numbers. They will probably be even more skewed than my prediction.

Specifically moving too slow, too predictable, and picking targets that have the aircraft in their gun sights.

The reason you keep coming up with these random numbers from thin air, is simply from your lack of ability to do what others can. Just because You cant land a shot does't mean others can't. So saying that maggies do it 50x less is pointless because its not factual in the slightest.

Learn to fly... If a tank driver manages to shoot down an ESF with his main he deserves the kill, it takes quite a bit of skill to hit a moving ESF

As a Galaxy pilot, tank AP rounds are a genuine threat if you're dropping anywhere even remotely in sight of enemy armour (especially Prowlers).

If you get whacked by a tank round as an ESF it's your own fault, but a Galaxy pilot has no choice other than to pray they can out-tank (no pun intended) the damage.

It's one of the (many) reasons why close support Galaxy drops are usually one-way tickets for the pilot.

Because your entire idea is just wrong, it's just not right. You assume that MBTs should be equal to each other in something. But they're not, that's the whole point of something being Empire Specific. NC ES Rocket Launcher can't shoot down aircraft as easily as TR one can, as reliably as VS one can. Oh but that means that Reavers have two more things to worry about, while Scythes and Mossies don't! Unbalanced! Nerfnerfnerfnerf.

I honestly don't think he is complaining from a pilots perspective, he seems to be whining because he has more trouble hitting air with his Magrider main cannon then the other factions MBTs. So this is a faction specific whine threat (FSWT).

"Counters" do not mean rock-paper-scissors. An AI-specced MBT is just as dead if an LA drops a couple C4 on it. An ESF coming up behind a Skyguard can drop it near-instantaneously, especially if it's a scythe abusing the quadruple rocket bug. If you get shot down by an MBT, you have no one to blame but yourself. Tank guns have fairly limited elevation. If you see one turning its turret on you, it's not that hard to pull up and afterburn away. Or do you sit still when a dalton lib turns its belly on you as well?
