Auraxes on all tank turrets, and other 4k on titan AP.
I think, just maybe, that brings legitimacy to his argument.

Combined arms: Infantry + farming machines. Maybe not ground vehicles, but air really has no other purpose than to farm kills and to transport tryhard squads to who want to win alerts by overpoping.
  4. LaughingDead

Air basically deals with other air.
The only real reason most people complain about A2G farmers is because that's the only thing they remember seeing.
What about the countless ESFs killed by coyotes?! Or tomcat gank squads?!

When it comes to A2G farming, it's actually pretty easy to rid of it, it's just that no one will often pull a sundi from another base with a couple of heavies with lockons. But when it gets to the point where a liberator is involved, you have to step up your air so that it may counter that air. If the lib is what's giving you trouble, then you need heavier AA weapons, walkers, rockets, tank shells with good aim are often prefered.

Now saying that air has no other purpose besides farming... really.... So hornets that counter tanks don't matter, tomcats that kill libs/gals don't matter, coyotes that kill ESFs don't matter, the other 3 NON AI noseguns don't matter and the most used amount ESFs, the afterburn tanks and other two variants don't matter. If air really had no purpose than farming infantry, no one would use FS, flares and stealth or comp is all people would use.

He said I didn't have any experience..... well turns out I have alot of experience.

Taking 4 years to Aurax tanks does not legitimize his argument. He still posts more than he's killed.
  7. ColonelChingles

So... have you Aurax'ed all tank turrets?

The better question is why hasn't he moved out of his parents basement yet.

So air deals with air that farms? Nice one. Read my post again. I said farm kills not farm infantry.

Lets just face it. The last time air actualy assisted the ground combat was never. They dont fly in and say "oh lets help or team take this base" or "oh my team is being harrased by enemy ESFs, better go and help them" . No they are here for the kills and kills only, may that be a tank a plane or a man.

They are not on the ground reviving, repairing, saying thanks or sorry, offering a ride, pushing the point, joining squads, protecting sunderers, dealing with an enemy max...

And I am not complaining. I am just saying do not call this game combined arms game. Call it bigger HP bar/bigger weapon = more certs game

So you've never called in a Liberator TB run to take out the lone enemy Sunderer that's the launching point of the enemy attack?

You've never asked ESFs with rocketpods to take out an enemy AV footzerg so that your tanks can bump up?

You've never had A2A ESFs take down a Liberator that otherwise would have made a snack out of your Galaxy?

Air can most definitely be helpful in an offensive or defensive action. Sure, most of the time pilots aren't attached to a ground unit, but if you have both an armoured squad and an air squad attached to your platoon, then you can quickly see how powerful coordinated air and ground is (until you hit a large Biolab or Techplant that is).
  12. LaughingDead

So you mean anything you're supposed to do in an ESF is a farm? That's hilarious. That's like saying tanks should revive people or they're farmers. Personally, I do run a support reaver for a platoon, my conditions are that I always get ground support with air, in turn I have scout radar and hornets for enemy tanks. It's not like I need the ground to tell me where every single tank is so I can kill it but they ask nicely and I get support then I give support back, simple.
  13. Scr1nRusher

Infantry has a powercreep going on, and its pushing everything else around & punishing anything that fights back.

infantry and air have power creep, infantry crybabies cry to the devs because they are tacticless and the devs cave into them, the air eilistists cry at anything resembling AA that can be effective and the devs not only listen but give them even more advantages.

it's buff, buff infantry, buff, buff air, nerf, nerf, buff, nerf, nerf, nerf tanks.

anyone not utilizing even basic strategy or tactics shouldn't be playing PS2, they are the sort that have crushed PS2's potential and nerfed anything they can't be bothered to effectively counter with ether their own non-infantry force multipliers or countering with tactics.

The people there pull the cliché comments. Anyway mr Chingles you must realize that by far most people don't want to have real life based proportions or even hierarchy to weapon damage in a combined arms game. You are the rare exception. Once you get beyond light machine gun, the special rules flow in and weapons lose much of their feeling, until you hit tank cannons where low velocity HEAT shells will be accepted. You will never see rapid firing weapons that are more lethal (damage, easy of use etc) than assault rifles. You will never see explosive weapons stronger than hand grenades or some spit distance c4 bomb with disproportional radius.

In vehicles games you get proper vehicle weapons but little variety since all you do is shooting AP shells with your tank at other tanks. No use for machine guns, HE shells or canister shots. In combined arms games you get variety but heavy weapons won't feel good to use against anything other than a small set of targets.
  18. McMan

Well yes. What else will you do? Capture a control point? Of course the better you are, the bigger fish you can farm. I can only lolpod infantry in my ESF. Dont have skills for anything else. You on the other hand can farm planes and tanks aswell.

And running a support Reaver in a platoon is stretching it a bit. Sure it sounds nice, but this is not how general Planetside 2 works.

Coaxial MG's for MBT's would be awesome.

Since its hilariously silly watching tanks fire main cannons at infantry chasing them with C4.

If they did give coaxials and made the combined arm game more realistic. It would only exemplify the poor base designs that exist.
There are lots of big issues which they decide to take on is the real question.
