Has it been explicitly stated as being a charged beam? Could it not be a charged blast of plasma that clears out corners? Do we even have a general idea of what kind of mechanic, apart from charge, it will adhere to? We need to stop freaking out. The test server will lay it all out.
I think it'd be cool if you could fire it while cloaked. Basically, you HAVE to charge it up, and while charging, it emits a glow, increasing in intensity as it charges. Would be good if it had a ~2-3 second charge time, which played a very noticeable sound. About 300 projectile velocity. Damage of; 1000 @ < 5m (one hit kill) 750 @ < 10m 500 @ > 10m Would actually be kind of fun to use.
