The TR problem is deeply related to its faction trait

Well... I hadn't anticipated this much aggro. I'll just agree to disagree on some points.

10 rounds with a 143dmg weapons is extreme high skill levels. We're talking 70% accuracy, and 100% accuracy to kill a HA. Add in a few headshots and we'd be down to maybe 50-60% accuracy. That's some serious MLG danktastic play, and this is only if you are at a range where your weapon does max damage. At longer distances you'd need perfect aim + lots of headshots to make that work.

If you are honestly this good I'm surprised you haven't gone professional.

I mean, damn, I thought I was pretty good for maintainging a 28-29% accuracy with the TRV.

+1 Just for "MLG Danktastic," got a serious laugh out of me.

I'm not saying I always drop people in 10 rounds or less, but when I do get a kill, which is rare enough, I still have most of my mag left. On the other hand, if I don't manage to kill them that way, then the rest of my mag won't change that.

Lol, it really seems the better hit detect works, the worse the TR become.....NC Feel like cheating when the game is working well....Was at Zurvan AMP up on the top(Gauss SAW felt like the Gauss SAW I picked up 2 years ago), went like 26-2 before deciding to log to my TR for a minute....it reminded me very quickly why I initially went NC......

Why is no one complaining about anchor, which is the most worthless ability ever? Especially on our MBT.

It seems like both the NC and VS faction specific launchers directly counter anchor.... Not to mention engineer turrets, C4, etc.

Notice how with anchor being useless prowler AP is the highest cause of death to other tanks.
With a little bit of situational awareness + stealth + racer you can do some dirty things with a lockdown prowler

Except that you get 40 rounds in a mag to compensate for that higher ROF and don't lose out on damage. And do you really think that TR guns are that inaccurate? I've never had issues taking someone down at medium range with my cycler TRV, and at long range it's just a matter spewing bullets in the enemy's general direction, they'll go down in one mag in most cases anyway.

So what you are saying is SVA-88 is better than Orion.
  9. TriumphantJelly

Yes, the SVA-88 has a 600/167 damage model.
    Wait...

Anyway, I personally hate the SVA, so I'm biased against it.
  10. Bankrotas

And yet it performs practically on par with Anchor, bit fewer KPU, better KPH and bit more user (<100 user difference last month).
  11. TriumphantJelly

Anyway, the Anchor is the Orion-equivalent (Or is that the EM6?). Either way, both do better than the Orion.

Perhaps I'm not using the website correctly but when I looked up MBT deaths across all BRs I see that the P2-120 AP is the leading cause of destruction at 5.10% but how did you extrapolate anything involving anchor mode from this data? I can't find any tracking of tank abilities at all in their data.

I play Terran and I love tanking in this game... just not on the Prowler. I roll the AP Lightning when I'm going armor on armor. The projectile's trajectory makes it a lot easier to use. I don't have to expose myself for long amounts of time to build up damage. I never have to sacrifice mobility. It's much easier to keep my front oriented on a target and thus makes my additional frontal armor a better investment.

I hate the Prowler. For many reasons. But having a RoF boost as a faction trait is one thing; sacrificing all mobility to gain it is another. The other MBTs don't sacrifice things when using their empire specific trait. How would the NC like it if popping their shield rooted their tank or disabled their gun? How would the Vanu like it if hitting their boost disabled any and all steering? Why are we Terrans the only faction that sacrifices one of our tank's three greatest virtues (armor, mobility, firepower) for our ability?

    Vanguard gains armor, sacrifices nothing.
    Magrider gains mobility, sacrifices nothing.
Prowler gains RoF and projectile velocity, sacrifices all mobility. WTF?

The other problem is that the Prowler's ability is only useful when air control is almost guaranteed or when operating at extremely long distances with ammo supply right on top of the tank.

The entire concept of the MBT came from the Panzer V Panther tank. It had better armor than the Panzer VI Tiger, a better gun, but was also highly mobile (well, when the transmission wasn't catching on fire anyways). Basically, it took all of the features of a heavy tank and combined them with the speed and agility of a medium tank. Plus armor become less relevant anyways as the HV guns made it impossible to carry it thick enough to actually stop rounds.

Taken by itself it probably wouldn't be such a huge deal but when combined with the height of the tank, which makes for a huge profile, the projectiles' landing point not being accurate to the crosshair, and a RoF advantage forcing much longer exposure times than the other two tanks, and the Prowler ends up as a total mess.

I much prefer the Vanguard. I really wish they'd add a series of single barrel auto-loading cannons that held 4 to 8 rounds per cassette and operated just like the Viper on the Lightning.

For anyone that plays or has played World of Tanks, the Prowler should really be an AMX auto-loader.

If we started with tmg-50 and cougar instead of carv and that **** carbine we'd be better off.
  14. Ronin Oni

Exactly, so you can get 4 kills instead of 3 before reloading.

More like 3 instead of 2 on avg though.
  15. Selrahc4040

But since I make judicious use of the short reload, the extra rounds per mag bonus is largely negated, the only thing it spares me from is the slightly irritating sound of firing from a close to empty mag.
