The spawnpoint restriction makes Planetside 2 a big arena deathmatch.

Big fights is not always a good thing. And when I find myself in a position that I cannot support my team,in a fight that it got so big that I cannot operate(usually when outnumbered) I just try to change location so that I can be more useful.
Of course there is a restriction to where you can spawn and I cannot spawn exactly where I want, so I just spawn somewhere close to the place I want to go and travel the rest of the way by Sundy. The problem is that all the rest people have the same restriction and noone can see my sundy to spawn at.
I know people will say to join a team or convince my outfit to go fight to that place but that is the point, in the past you could go and start a fight just by placing a sundy at a nice position. We dont have to make things more difficult for people that try to use tactics over numbers.

It is really a shame that Im almost ready to move to another title(first person tactical shooter) just because Planetside 2 is very close to a deathmatch arena. That is the biggest problem of planetside for me.And of course the ADC-ADC-ADC users(macro or not) which they move Planetside 2 even farther than the tactical shooter titles.
(I know that planetside was never a tactical shooter but for me the combined actions of teams/vehicles etc. made it a hybrid between a action shooter+tactical shooter even if the shooting wasn't tactical)

You've gotten close to where you wanted to go, you've gotten a S-AMS to where you wanted to go, and now you're where you wanted to go. In clear terms, what more do you want without being required to coordinate with anybody else?

If coordinate means to beg other people to follow me then its not going to happen. And from what I see in my server most of the players are like me.
Also "close to where I wanted to go" is some minutes time from the actual place.People prefer to farm xp in a big fight than spend time to travel to other locations.
I know that the thing you suggest is the best solution (to be organized with a team that follows) but it rarely happens, that's why I believe the spawn restriction is very bad.
It is better to have sudden attacks that someone might say that are "unfair" than having just 3 big fights, 24/7 (at least at my server).

You still haven't answered my question and I am asking because I don't understand from your explanation what you are trying to achieve. (That's not entirely true. I have four possible interpretations of what you are asking for. Me deciding what you're trying to say is unfair, however.)
  5. OldMaster80

I rarely happens FOR YOU maybe. Look for a decent outfit.

    on anaxim's defense
in the login screen i see sometimes the text "if you don't like the current fight your in you always can join an other one" or something like that, only we can't we have to spawn on location, next base or the warp gate
even in an outfit the leader have to travel to an other location for you to be able to spawn there
if he give the order to travel to an base you have an choice to travel by vehicle or wait until your leader is there to spawn
always fun if you just pulled an max and they did not want to wait/forget to pick you up

i say yes to opening up all the front spawn locations
we don't need to be able to spawn everywhere only to all the bases that are connected to enemy territory and one support base
by my believes it will make PS2 an better and more fun game to play
  7. DrPapaPenguin

I dunno, whenever I drop a sundy, people always start spawning. Sure, I dont get a huge wave of attackers instantaneously, but little by little it builds up. Also, I still dont get wtf you are asking for, spawning out of thin air maybe?
  8. FateJH

Just to remind you but MAXes can't change their physical location through deployment either.
We already have something equivalent to this and it frustrates some other players under the banner of "redeployside."
  9. breeje

i play this game for an log time now and i remember that what you call redeployside was one of the fun things to do
tactical deployment to counter the zergs to force them to split or lose territory
what do the players hate the most redeployside or zergs
but your right about the max
  10. LT_Latency

    It give and take.

You need to be able to redeploy to be able to find fun battle quickly.

The issue if you can redeploy anywhere is you can take land in massive blob, then redeployed to any base that is about to flip to with just enough people to block the cap then go back to your zerg ball and keep pushing.
  11. FateJH

My answer is redeployside. Zergs are the players of this game and there is no point to hating them.
I remember good and bad "deployside." It allowed front movement, shifts around stalemates, and the opportunity to route enemies. It was also a losing proposition for any side that was forced to play defense or any side that had any population deficiency compared to another. Even worse was when the said zerg of which you complain used it.
For all the good you remember, I remember mostly the frustration that almost made me quit.
  12. breeje

i respect your opinion but i don't have to agree with it
if only some changes would be made that everybody is happy i hate the zerg but i can live with it
  13. Copasetic

It's possible. What most people are unhappy with are outfits redeploying 96 people into a 24v24 fight with 1 minute left on the capture. You can definitely stop that without ruining redeploy for everyone else.

And you could still counter a zerg with your own zerg even after that change, you just can't redeploy twice the numbers into the fight. If a zerg shows up with 48 people you can redeploy 48 people in to counter them, but not 96. If you want to bring 96 you have to do it with Galaxies.

I am confused. How would removing spawn restrictions Help your complaint here. Because you feel you have to beg people to go where you want to go so you can have the fight you want, you want to remove spawn restrictions, which are designed around a couple things, one being to help focus the fight and bring the Mass of lone wolves togeather without 100% forcing them to suqad up or do nothing.

Really I don't understand how opening up spawning, letting the unorganized be even more disorganized would help you in any sense. Not to mention as some have pointed out with the redeployside tactic, this would end up causing even more issues, because the organized people would have an easier time squashing any disorganized groups then they do now.

Ohh sorry , I really thought that you were joking on me.
I mean, I get my sundy to a nice place and then most of the times only me (or 1-2 people of my team) will spawn, no one else. All other people are fighting at one of the two big fights in the map and they dont see my sundy at their respawn screen. It would be great if at least the sundys showed up at the respawn screen. Then again it would be unfair for the defenders if they couldnt respawn and had to travel there(to fight my sundy).......now Im confused ,maybe I ask for too much.

Since the other guys say that they always have people respawning at their sundys maybe it is a Briggs(population)problem.Although there are a LOT of people in the 3 big fights of the map.For me if I get a sundy away from the big fights Im certain that nobody else sees it at their respawn screens.
