The Reaver hitbix is so big -_-.

    The difference's between the TTK on the rotaries is not at all "miniscule."

    You most certainly do have better vertical thrust. A Hover 3 Mosquito has about the same vertical thrust as a stock Reaver.

    The Scythe's "floatiness" can be seen as both a pro and con. It let's the pilot have a more stable platform for shooting at ground targets, but it's slower idle descent and forced descent make it harder for it to bop up and down effectively in hover fights


    Reaver's top speed with afterburners is ~355 stock. Mosquito and Scythe are ~325.

    I agree, with 280 flight hours I can perfectly agree that: The Reaver is too big and scythe is too flat.

    The Reaver's hitbox is its only drawback, and really the only one.

    Of course you're an easier target for your opponent, but don't forget about the two major strengths of the Reaver: the strong verthical thrust (AB included) and the insane damage output. The (way) stronger verthical thrust allows you to move faster and to give your opponent a harder time hitting you, even with the bigger hitbox. The higher damage output is pretty much self-explaining - good hits = profit.

    Personally I find the Reaver to be the most balanced ESF at the moment. Scythe should be slightly nerfed and the Mossi should be slightly buffed.

    Less than a second + lag comp and reaver having a larger hitbox results in "miniscule"

    Looking for the video on youtube. 3 synced videos of each ESF hovering upwards. Mossie and reaver hit ceiling about the same time but nearly a second after the scythe does

    Hey Scr1nRusher, I so agree with you, I myself is learning to fly such a dramatic air vehicle, even when I come A2A with a mossi or scythe, The reaver doesnt have what it takes. Maybe SOE will make a cloaking device for it, but it still doesnt fully have the nice streamline as the other 2.

    Why would anyone make this useless picture that oversimplifies the models when we have had accurate comparisons of the actual hitboxes for about a year?

    With the speed and maneuverability the Reaver has, GOOD! It deserves its current hit box.

    You can't have a small design and still take off and be GONE IN ONE SECOND.
    You're crazy, guy. It's fine how it is and stop trying to subliminally ask for a buff.

    Lol, you realize that the link you just posted makes it blatantly obvious that the Vortek, at least in terms of raw damage, is the best of the three rotaries, right? And the very reason the Vortek, and to a lesser extent the Mustang, have a shorter TTK is precisely because of the Reaver's size? They offset each other. If the Reaver's size gets reduced, so does the damage on the Vortek. That is how it was initially balanced, and how it was balanced again after the rotary changes.


    The only one I am aware of was one done by Spaadar, except he tested the speed and ascent while performing a reverse maneuver, not the flat ascent rate.



    Gravity is a big deal, even in a game that relies so little upon it. The idle and forced descent speeds, as well as ascend speed using the vertical thrust, is a large contributing factor in how "top" pilots can bob and weave around another pilot's fire and not get hit. If you can't force yourself closer to the ground as quickly, it is easier for the enemy to adjust their lead to compensate.

    The balance between the mossie and the reaver is quite good in my opinion. The scythe is obviously not comparable.
    However, the hitsize does not only matter in ESF vs ESF szenarios. Anti-air is more effective against the reaver than against the scythe or the mossie - no matter if its flak or tanks that are shooting at it. A small hitsize reduction would not be a bad thing!

    Even though i got most gametime in the reaver, I am telling this as a pilot how is only active with the mossie these days. (Terran ouftit..)
