Challenging orthodoxy would be fine and an understandable reason to garner dislike; people who rock the boat being seen as a nuisance, and all that.

His inability to articulate and support his ideas after what he posts the OP is what truly brought him his detractors, at least on this forum. The commonality of the complaint against that methodology and his refusal to even acknowledge the common complaint are just as problematic. I have no reason to believe that he wouldn't engage in the same kind of argument process somewhere else if he thought that it were fair in the first place. To be clear about what I am outlining, I am indicating his previous tendency (and there is no evidence of a change of practice) to give the impression of short-changing any well-worded reply and then state exactly what he had originally said, occasionally word for word.
